While the Widder Hotel’s exterior might look medieval, the interior is as modern as possible. Comprised of eight medieval townhouses, this hotel has 42 guest rooms, all completely unique from each other. While some areas feature exposed beams, stone walls, and fireplaces, other rooms in the hotel have a colorful, ultramodern, loft atmosphere. Great hotel and attentive staff, lots of historical ambience in a beautiful setting.
The staff were incredible - attentive to our every need, courteous and proactive - even providing us with an amazing room upgrade and decorating the room for our wedding anniversary - we didn't even have to ask! Amazing. Also, the hotel is spot on in the center of the old city, easy walking to mostly everywhere, and an overall lovely neighborhood. The breakfast is awesome, with a great buffet and great choices overall. The bar is also very nice, with a great ambience, great selection and attentive service.
The room itself couldn't be cooled down properly, and we had this absurd situation in which the nights outside were pretty cold (around 10 degrees celsius), but it was too hot for us to sleep properly. We couldn't open the windows because the church bells sounds are pretty close, loud, and persistent :).
We notified the staff about this but apparently there's nothing that can be done - it's something that has to do with a/c restrictions in the city. It might have even been exacerbated by the fact the room was so large. Anyway, bottom line is we didn't sleep that well because it was too hot in the room.
Even so, it was a really small dent in what was a great weekend vacation.

Very enjoyable high class hotel
The staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. We borrowed the electric bikes for free to ride around Zurich. The room was beautiful and had tasty chocolates. There are lots of spaces to sit in and entertain. The breakfast was very tasty.

Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Location is in the heart of old city. Walking distance to lake, great outdoor spaces, attractions and shopping.

I’d go back
Thé location was brilliant. Thé staff particularly at the front desk were great. Big beautiful room. Gréât breakfast.
if I had one complaint the cleaning was a bit random. Dirty cups and glasses were left and things like coffee capsules not replaced.

Classy Hotel, excellent service and beautifully appointed.
We liked the location, close to shopping and in the gorgeous Old Town. The hotel was really well appointed with nice reception, decor, great staff, lovely breakfast room. Room has everything including lots of lighting options, safe, strong hair dryer, desk, well stocked mini bar, blackout blinds, seating area and more. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was a real treat, and 2 sinks a bonus too.
Our room on this stay and last stay were both fabulous but unfortunately next to the service lift so we heard that rumbling in the early hours of the morning.

We would definitely stay again and recommend to other travelers going to Zurich.
Loved the location, which is easily walkable to the river and old town, with great shopping. The ambience of the hotel and room was wonderful. We had a drink at the bar, which is lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful. We would definitely stay again, and recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Superb hotel in Old oRt of city in walking distance from station shops and restaurants. Perfect for a romantic few days in zurich or place to relax after business or to meet business associates or friends. Staff attention and friendliness was exceptional.
