Expert reviews

New York Times review:

“Opened in 2015 in Zurich’s historical quarter, Marktgasse Hotel has 39 rooms done in airy, elegantly minimalist style (white fabrics, blond wood) along with a bright, lively café; dark, sleek bar-restaurant; library; and hammam.”

Featured in 36 Hours in Zurich by The New York Times.

Fodors review:

“Located in the heart of the cobblestone streets of Old Town, this boutique hotel smartly blends its 15th-century history with modern minimalism. The rooms vary in size and are individually decorated, but all are done in a pared-down style with lots of white linen and pale wood.”

Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Zurich.

CN Traveler review:

“There’s been an inn or hostelry on the site for more than 600 years, but its current incarnation feels as fresh as a daisy. It’s got a fantastic bar (dark but not forbidding) and restaurant (Swiss but not traditional), plus a New York-style deli (buzzy and fun, and hugely popular with locals as well as guests).”

Telegraph review:

“The Marktgasse is one of Zurich’s oldest inns, situated in its historic city centre. The 39-roomed boutique hotel successfully blends modern minimalism with ancient heritage, and is warm and welcoming. It also offers a lively bar and an exceptional restaurant, Baltho.”
