Should be well planned to be able to view your tv set even when seated. Aside that, I had to pay for break fast. That’s a stretch and not value for money to be frank.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth 5 Stars

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay at the Pendry Washington DC was deeply disappointing and far from what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.
-Room service was extremely poor — slow, inattentive, and inconsistent.
-Most of the staff lacked professionalism, with the exception of the manager who tried to help and was the only bright spot in our experience.
-The breakfast was terrible: minimal variety and poor quality. Definitely not what you’d expect from a hotel in this category.
-Most concerning was the financial mismanagement. The hotel charged a significantly higher amount than the actual cost of the stay. Multiple unauthorized transactions were made on my card without explanation.
-When I approached the receptionist, she was shockingly rude, speaking to me in a condescending and disrespectful tone. Only after insisting to speak to the manager was I informed that there was a system glitch causing erroneous transactions — a very serious and unacceptable issue for any hotel, let alone a supposed 5-star establishment.

This experience left me frustrated and disappointed.

The location was fantastic. Property still smelled new. Nespresso in room coffee was great.

Rooms were a bit on the small side for the Money. The door to the shower conflicts with the door into the bathroom. They were still fantastic but the 2 queen rooms didn’t have a lot of room for a desk or other area to do work. Bar area in room is small.

The breakfast brought to our room was delicious and met our expectations. The room was spacious and nice looking. Overall it looked like an upscale hotel room and bathroom. It was nice that the entrance to the room had a sort of entry way room. The bar downstairs was nice and had a romantic ambiance so we ate lunch there and enjoyed our food, drinks and time there. The greeting and checkin was very nice, everyone was really lovely and kind. They even brough us a welcome cocktail and waters.

There was only one small trashcan in the hotel room, tucked way back in the bathroom. We found this to be annoying. The bed was ultra hard and the pillows were so large and puffy you couldn't sleep on them. There were 2 sinks yet only 1 handsoap sort of just put in the middle. It would have been nice if each sink had it's own designated hand soap so it didn't look like they were skimping on basic toiletries. The coffee maker didn't work and only dripped out a few drops at a time so this was a disappointment. There were no blankets in the closet in the room, which is provided even in a very cheap hotel, so we had to ask for one to be brought up.

Location, rooms, views, drinks, staff and overall hotel are top-notch! Hotel is situated in a prime location right on the Wharf and offers the best of any upscale hotel has to offer!

The only thing that was dissapointing was that I had to leave and I wish I would have planned for a longer stay!

Location is the only good thing here.

Dishonest staffers who double charged us. The room is a closet. There is hardly a lobby. The hotel bar is nice but costs about double what it should.

A few high tech equipment not so immediate user friendly - eg : Steam iron instead of regular one

We stayed here because it's in The Wharf, and we like visiting The Wharf once in a while.

The staff lied twice to our faces, and once on the phone. Our travel plans changed so we were repeatedly told if we booked for the new dates, they'd cancel the original booking. Literally right after the third promise from someone at the reception desk, we got an email that our request was denied. Cowardly, two-faced, low. The room was tiny bordering on claustrophobic, amenities nothing special, lobby bar dramatically overpriced. Simply put, this place sucks. Shady corporate practices to try to milk us for money, thankfully were able to get some of it back through a bank challenge. There are better options at The Wharf or elsewhere in D.C.
