Kimpton George Hotel, Washington D.C.

It was clean and although in a busy area it was quiet.

The amenities that Kimpton is known for wasn’t there. The front desk staff did tell me there was an issue with the vendor especially after Covid.

The location is perfect, very close to both the train station and the capital. The staff is great, very responsive and helpful. They put out a light continental breakfast in the morning, and serve complimentary wine from 5-6 pm. We enjoyed our stay very much!

I liked that the room was spacious enough for my family and had space for my kids.

I loved the deco, the rooms were cute and comfy. The facility was small boutique feel, upscale, and the staff were pleasant. The valet was out of this world accommodating! Samson was his name. I’d go back every time, highly recommend.

When I went outside after dark I was approached by a man for money… but I think it’s just a double edged sword because the location was also what made it great.

This was a great hotel for a stay in Washington DC. The location could not have been better for DC sightseeing and convenience to the different neighborhoods. The staff was very warm and helpful. While there was valet parking, there was a parking structure conveniently located across from the hotel for half the price of valet (and which hotel staff told us about!. Thank
you!) Even though the hotel is “in the thick of things”, it had a very relaxing, calming feeling. The room and bathroom were quite large for a city hotel and well laid out. I know they are planning to soon open a restaurant/bar and with those additional amenities, my rating would be higher. I absolutely recommend staying here for a leisure or business trip to DC.

This hotel was super close to the capital and the mall. Five minute walk to the hop on hop off bus at union station.

The location was comfortable, in the walking distance from all popular attractions. The view, room and bathroom were amazing. The staff were very friendly. We had complement breakfast from the hotel and free wine before dinner. The stay was great.

Despite the wonderful renovations there are parts that are showing their age. The breakfast could improve.

The hotel offers excellent value for money considering its prime location, cleanliness, and helpful staff. Additionally, the room included many useful amenities such as iron, ironing board, and other helpful tools.

It would have been nice to have a view of the Capitol building from my room.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a short walk from Union Station and it was pretty quiet when we stayed. The bed and pillows were pretty comfortable. It was perfect for our family!

This is our second time staying at this hotel and we absolutely love it. From the fruit water in the lobby (yum!) to the fun decor, this is a great place for families and for couples. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. Also I am so grateful to everyone at the front desk. They texted to see if I was okay and my visit was going well. Even more importantly, everyone at the front desk was extremely accommodating to help me with my diabetic daughter’s supplies. I think it was Marcel who literally ran down with my freezer packs to their freezer and put our insulin in the fridge before our train departed from Washington DC. I pray my daughter goes to school in DC so we can visit even more often!!!!!!

I love this place! There’s not much I didn’t like!!!

Very handy for Union Station as we travelled from New York by train. Also close to many of the attractions.
Many of the city tours start and end at Union station. Staff were very helpful.

Comfortable bed, great location for capital.

Some paint details around halls/elevators were a bit sloppy.

The stay was splendid, and the hotel is very well located. We spent two nights at the Kimpton George Hotel in Washington, D.C. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was spectacular. The service was top-notch.

The only aspect that I believe could be improved is the breakfast area. The breakfast itself was somewhat limited, and there were not enough tables to sit comfortably. There are some sofas, but there is nowhere to place your coffee, making the space for having your morning coffee quite uncomfortable

The front desk staff were exceptional. Everyone was so helpful. 5 minute walk to the Capital and Union Station. The room and hotel were clean.

The beds left a bit to be desired.

Just ok! All processed and unhealthy and I skipped but found the corner bakery a wonderful alternative

Breakfast

Great staff, nice room, amazing location. Only downfall was that the restaurant there is currently unavailable. So that limited certain amenities on the property.

Breakfast was good but I wish there are more savory options, like boiled eggs or non-pork breakfast sandwich (we are Muslims so we couldn't eat the sausage breakfast sandwich)

I was really hoping to have a microwave in the room. I used the one in the lobby which was a bit inconvenient, but I am glad it was an option.

Location was perfect. A short 10 minute walk to the US Capitol, and a 5 minute walk to Union Station. Restaurants are also nearby.

The George is perfect for a visit to Capitol Hill.

This was the 2nd time we stayed here. This is a wonderful hotel, I'd guess a little smaller than others, but with excellent facilities and a great location to walk to the Capitol and restaurants. It's got a funky George Washington theme decorated throughout. Comfy beds, nice clean sheets, large soft pillows, hot water. Our room each time faced the entrance street and we found it to be quiet, as was the hotel overall. Parking is in a nice well lit public lot right across the street that is accessed on foot by going into the lobby for CSPAN and CNBC. Looking forward to a return trip

Great location close to the National Mall and walkable to more active and vibrant neighborhoods. The hotel room was super comfortable and the staff incredibly kind.

We had to switch rooms because the toilet in our first room wouldn’t flush.

The current restaurant will be closing soon. We had a good breakfast there but since it will be replaced any further review seems pointless.

The only change would be to replace some the hall carpeting and painting - all seemed a little dated.

Literally a five minute walk from Union Station, cool hotel, friendly staff, close to the Smythsonian and central Washington monuments.
