Great location, friendly staff. The building itself is architecturally significant.

The lighting was very bad. The elevator was extremely dark and the room lighting reminded me of a very dim funeral parlor. The ‘shabby chic’ furnishings are more shabby than chic. The bathroom shower leaked over the entire floor. The leak was long standing as evidenced by the rotting wood door trim.

The room was nice and comfortable. Everything seemed clean and polished. The location was great in Adams Morgan, as it's full of restaurants and bars, although it's a 15-minute walk from the metro station and a bit far from the rest of the city.

We were given a third floor room, and loud noises from the street (partying, talking, etc) could still be heard even well past midnight.

After the fact, they sent me an email asking about my stay. I replied (as I had to the text (see answer to next question) with my complaint about not getting the room type I reserved. I indicated that in this situation, they should give me the room I reserved or an upgrade, not a different type of room and some drink coupons. At this point, someone from the hotel replied back promptly and apologized for not replying to my earlier complaint, and credited me back the cost of 1 of my three nights there. So I thought in the end the customer service was great (though it started off poorly).

When I arrived, they told me they were sold out and could only offer me a double queen room. I had reserved a king. They gave me coupons for 2 drinks in compensation but I thought that was not acceptable. They sent me a text asking about my stay and when I responded with this complaint I didnt hear back.

Didn’t have breakfast, did have a lovely dinner and great drinks! Nice to not drive after drinks and food. Food was excellent.

We just stayed at The Line DC again this week and had another great experience. This time, we were upgraded to a Monument room, which came with a much better view — definitely a nice touch. Derrick, once again, was an absolute standout. We honestly feel lucky to have been there during one of his shifts. He’s knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely kind — the kind of person who makes a stay feel extra special. He’s truly a noteworthy part of the hotel team, and we love seeing him when we’re there. Everything else was consistent with our past visit: the rooms are bright and comfortable, the location in Adams Morgan is full of charm, and it’s a great spot if you’re traveling with dogs. Valet is still quick, and while some service areas could be sharper, the overall experience is solid — and with people like Derrick on staff, it makes you want to come back. Still one of our favorite pet-friendly hotels in DC.

It needs a little refresh - brass needs polishing, leather needs conditioning… but it’s still my favorite in DC!

There was very loud music nightly til about 2am. It made it very difficult to sleep.

Cool reimagined space. Great area of the city. Delicious coffee, restaurant and bar. Liked the decor and design of the bathroom, good finishings. Cool herringbone floors in the room as well, topped off by kind and helpful staff

Eclectic hotel in an old building with holdover church items like pews and organ pipes as chandelier. Large room. Location was great. Lots of walkable restaurants and night life. Jumbo pizza. Great onsite restaurant. Bed was not comfy for me but good for my husband.

Room was comfortable and clean. Cafe and atmosphere were excellent. Cool vibe and great location for so much and 20-minute walk for even more around DC. Not close to Metro train, so would stay in DuPont circle next time.

Not next to Metro train. Car parking valet only. There wasn’t always someone physically at the front desk, but I didn’t try calling, and I didn’t have problems to address. Just a couple questions I figured out on my own with some legwork.

Difficult to get ice for some reason. One staff member said to get in lobby, lobby said to get from room service.

The check in process was very disorganized with many people waiting in the lobby for a room to be available at 3:30 pm. One person said he had been waiting over one hour. The staff were trying to be helpful but the rooms were just not ready.

The room, I had several windows and it was quiet as well as spacious

I was charged an additional $130 for what I don't know. I understood that I had paid in full through Booking.com when I reserved the room and yet I was charged an additional $130. I was given no explanation. I was misled and overcharged! The cost of this room was way more than I wanted to pay with the additional charges. I am self-employed.

The room was comfortable and clean. I slept really well! as only there one night - arrived around 9 pm and gone by 8 am. The room was expensive, though a good value by DC standards. I had an appointment in the morning in DuPont Circle and the walk was easy and close enough. I took an uber from the airport to the hotel, as I am not familiar with the layout of DC and I was traveling alone. If I were traveling with someone else, I think it would have been fairly straightforward to get from the airport to the hotel.

When I arrived, I was totally ignored by the person at the reception desk (there were two people working, one was helping someone who walked in just before me. After a minute of standing in silence in front of the desk, I spoke up, and after a long pause, the person at the desk finally acknowledged my existence and put off a clear vibe of not being happy to have to spend time checking me in. I was also charged for taking some food from the minibar (which I did not, nor did I touch anything or even come close), but I was reimbursed after making a phone call to the hotel. I was told I would be sent an updated invoice - I never was, but saw the charge come off my credit card bill the following day.

Coffee stand is very good

The staff and the vibes - the relaxed atmosphere versus industrial structures embedded into DC's music neighborhood. No loud music blasting - low color temperature and a warm inviting layout. The restaurant is ambitiously priced vis a vis the other neighborhood options, but you can't go wrong with the location at this iconic landmark.

Robe was not as plush as expected.

The happy hour was great, especially for solo traveller for business. The decor of the room is nice, the bed and bedding are comfortable.

I would appreciate having some free bottled water in the room. The reception area and the elevator could have better lighting.

Great hotel in a lively neighbourhood, away from downtown. Rooms are great, with fine beds, nice bathroom. Everything is clean. Lobby/restaurant is lively with locals (students) working, eating, drinking.

The only disappointment is the management. The hotel offers complimentary bike rental. Can we have them a full day?, we asked in the morning. Yes, you can have them a full day. For free? Yes for free, they replied. Returning the bikes in the afternoon, we were asked to pay 320 dollars for the bike rental, as, according to the management, only 4 hours are free, after that you have to pay 20 dollars per bike per hour (in our case 4 bikes x 4 hours x 20 dollars). Eventually, after long discussion, the manager waived the additional payment. but it was a frustrating experience. So Line hotel: if your customer asks if the rental is free, donot tell them it is free, but tell them it is free for 4 hours, and 20 dollars per hour thereafter.

Room was airy and spacious; great open dining/bar area; excellent room service. Best location for walking in AdMo.
