Hotel Lombardy, Washington

We loved the spacious room, comfortable bed, and great staff. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to the mall and many restaurants.

The door knob stuck and was, at times, difficult to open.

Hotel was quiet for Thanksgiving so I was upgraded to a larger room which was nice. Location is very good. Five min walk to Farragut West metro station so handy for the airport and exploring the city.

I loved being in this hotel because it felt like just being in a relatives home. It was very comfortable very convenient and the staff was so cordial

That they ran out of milk at breakfast.

Lovely large room with alcove on the 11th floor overlooking Pennsylvania ave with the nice old buildings across the street. Wonderful sunny room. Small Kitchen. The bar was nice for a drink in the Morrocan atmosphere. The Breakfast cafe is nice and bright. Staff were very friendly. Bus stops right infront of the hotel from the Mall. Metro only 2-3 blocks away. Nice walking distance from Georgetown. A doorman even opens the door, with the brass polished. I wish I had remembered to leave my shoes outside my door in the hallway for the free shoepolishing overnight.

Our room was hot. Turning down the heat didn't work, so we turned the system off completely and opened the windows to cool it down each day at bit before bed. Unfortunately, there was no drink menu in the bar or prices (I believe they were redoing it).

Location is great, it has the charm and character of an old hotel and the staff are professional and pleasant.

As much as I like older hotels with character, this hotel is in need of a major refurbishment. It’s so tired no amount of cleaning (and I do think it was well cleaned) can make it look or feel clean. Good value in upgrade to a suite.

I liked the spaciousness of the room which was a real priority for me. I also valued the hotel's great location which allowed me to get to everywhere I needed asap.

The restaurant was only open at 5pm so when I arrived at 4, and given that there was no lobby area per see, there was really nowhere to sit and relax except the chairs next to the entry door. Also bar was advertised but closed for renovation during my stay.

We liked a lot the location of the hotel, as the nearby metro station was very convinient for most of the points of interest we wanted to visit.

The amenities that were offered seemed a bit "poor" and not enough for two people, there was no shower gel for example...although they were daily refilled.

Quiet, spacious & clean room. Powerful shower. Plenty of storage. Staff left bottles of water each evening at turn down. Friendly staff. Great location. 2 different Metro stops (Foggy Bottom & Farragut West) less than 7 minute walk away and bus stop outside. Around a 20 minute walk to Georgetown and a 30 minute walk to Capital One Arena.

Location is great, close to the Foggy Bottom Metro and GW. The room is clean and comfy. I had a large king bed, nice vanity area, kitchenette, robe in the closet, iron and ironing board, and the shower / bathroom was good as well. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I got a great deal on the room through booking.com and the receptionist seemed surprised that the room had a city view for the price I paid. So, I had to pull up my reservation to show what should all be included. I still thought it was reasonable, and would encourage the hotel to keep the rate.

Some of the facilities are old but nice.

The hotel was very vintage. The suite reminded me of the set of I Love Lucy. The lounge reminded me of I Dream of Jeannie. Very great staff and service.

Understaffed in the evening in the dining room and often had to take a meal in the lounge with the server going back and forth to serve. All areas of our nation are having staffing issues. An 18% gratuity is in all your meals, regardless. Bathroom sink was cracked and tub didn't drain properly.

I love smaller boutique type hotels. The staff are always welcoming and if you’re staying more than one night, they welcome you back each time you return. The location was great and everything was quaint but elegant.

It’s an old hotel, with a lot of “vintage” things. Wish I could open a window for some fresh air. The windows actually have perfect view to an office building, which is very weird.

We arrived earlier than check-in and were offered an upgrade to a suite which was already for us to move into. It was spacious, included a sitting room and kitchenette and the beds were super comfortable. The best pillows I have ever slept on. We had originally booked a twin room (I was with a college friend, not a partner or spouse, and most hotels only had a double bed). The suite had a king which was huge so we were able to share it.

The staff didn't know very much about restaurants in the area. The coffee machine in the kitchenette didn't work and so we had to get someone from staff to come up and replace it. The location is very good, and although right on Pennsylvania Ave it is set back a bit and doesn't feel noisy or chaotic. Good restaurants within walking distance.

Well equipped, classic in style. Good kitchen. Good location for the White House , the Mall, Lincoln and Vietnam/Korean memorials - all 15mins walk. The museums were double this and longer for the Capitol.

Room door was very hard to open. Old hotem requires some renovations to make it leavable.

The room we stayed in, 1106 had a really bad smell, not related with cleaning, it was an old moldy type smell. Rooms need to be updated.

good location for us- on the quieter edge of the centre, but with pleasant areas about it, and many dinning options, cafes close by , but also close enough to the sights, so that you walk to them

As this is an older period property, we found it charming , but some may wish for more modern fittings, especially in the bathrooms.

The beds were sooooo comfy, the staff were amazing and the location was outstanding. So close to everything. There is an amazing food court full of excellent food options across the road. Hands down one of the best places I have stayed in. Totally made our stay

Breakfast finished at 1030 after a full day we just missed it as it was raining heavy we lay in a bit longer than normal

We got a suite instead of a normal room, as the hotel was overbooked at our arrival. That was a nice and made our stay very comfortable.

It was very dark in the rooms as the lights were very dimm. The shutters need to be down as there was neighbourbuildings cery close.

The staff was outstanding. Very courteous, professional and helpful. Room was cleaned perfectly everyday. Water bottles offered everyday and all amenities replaced if used. Good location to visit main attractions (by foot or via metro). Lively university area one street away with supermarket, restaurants and metro station. Although old, the site is very charming, reminiscent of old European architecture.

Because it is an old site, some amenities could be improved. - the bathroom did not evacuate water well (old pipes and tub probably) - the lights should be brighter - a microwave would make the kitchen perfect Not a big deal but these are the reasons I did not give a perfect score.

The wifi is pretty bad. That was my only negative.

Convenient location

Hotel was in an excellent location, you could stroll to the Lincoln memorial in 20 minutes and had ample coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The bed and room were also super comfortable.

I liked everything.

The hotel is nice and clean, and the roo was very good. It's within walking distance to many famous sights in Washington and nice restaurants for breakfast and dinner nearby.

The lady on reception when we checked in late (about 10.00pm) on 28 August 2024 was sour and unfriendly. I did not like that the hotel took $100 from my account as a "deposit" within minutes of my arrival, but took one month to return that amount. I wasn't advised the hotel would maintain a hold on my money for so long, and nor do I think it's right that it should. No other country that I have visited in world does that.

Brilliant location. Within walking distance of the White House - 3 blocks and the monuments. Easy to get to Capitol Hill and Georgetown. Super Founding Farmers restaurant nearby. Very helpful staff.

Unable to cater for gluten free diet. No garden to sit outside but a couple of little parks just outside. We did see some rats running in the park as it got darker.

Staff member who checked us in was surly. The floor boards creak when you walk around terribly. This was evident when the people on the floor above came home most nights at 1am and woke us up. Was very very load.
