The staff were incredibly kind, the room was fully equipped with anything one could want, the bed was one of the best I've ever had, great location

The floors make noise with every step so every time someone in the floor above me moved- there was noise. Also, the AC and ceiling fan were noisy.

Location, cleanliness and value were great! Staff was friendly and I enjoyed staying in a historic hotel. I would stay again!

The AC unit seemed loud next to the bed, turning on and off during the night and waking me up. Everything else was great!

Excellent stay, incredibly helpful accommodating staff who went above and beyond, the suite was fabulous and we stayed an extra night due to how wonderful our stay was. Great prices and an excellent location right near to all the attractions in D.C.

Friendly staff, clean, spacious room and very convenient location. Free luggage storage available. I could check in an hour earlier and check out an hour later without additional cost to accommodate my flight hours (obviously dependant on room availability).

Great location and staff!

We were traveling as a group of six friends, so we booked three rooms. A beautiful, historic hotel with a great atmosphere. The staff who welcomed us were very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect — just a 10–15 minute walk to the White House. We explored almost the entire downtown area of Washington on foot. We really enjoyed our stay. The fact that each room had an additional small inner room gave a nice sense of space. Thank you — everything was wonderful.

The way the faucets open and close in the in suite bathrooms. It’s very annoying that it doesn’t follow the standard rules. It’s so small but so annoying.

The location on Pennsylvania Avenue is fantastic! The history of this hotel was very cool. The room was huge and the price was tiny!

Very beautiful hotel with a nostalgic, old-fashioned feel and very comfortable.

The Hotel Lombardy was perhaps one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in in the United States. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our requests. An older hotel, the building does have charm, and very good a/c. And while we didn't eat at the restaurant or the bar, it was good to know they were there. The hotel is literally steps from a bus stop and a very nice coffee shop.

The only (minor) complaint would be that the toiletries were of the old-fashioned single use plastic type, and the water offered in tiny plastic bottles.

Location was good for getting around Washington. Hotel is more traditional than the usual modern and character less ones.

Lighting in corridors could have been better.

I really loved the old world charm of the place and the friendly, professional staff. Great location too near Farragut West Metro Station with easy access to the whole City. I wish I could have stayed longer to try the bar/ restaurant but I hope to be back

I appreciated the kitchen but the lighting was poor and strangely there was no cutlery in the drawers. I was only staying for one night so not a problem for me but puzzling and would not be good for a longer term stay

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lombardy! The location is fantastic — close to everything yet tucked into a quieter stretch of D.C., making it easy to explore and then retreat for some peace. The staff was attentive, warm, and genuinely personable — the kind of team that makes you feel like a welcome guest, not just a room number. The hotel itself is delightfully quaint and historic. You can almost imagine bygone diplomats and elegant travelers gliding down the halls with martinis in hand and important secrets in their pockets. There's a timeless quality to the place that gives it real character. All in all, Hotel Lombardy offers a warm, memorable experience wrapped in history and charm. It may not be flawless, but like a favorite old novel, it wins you over page by page. Would we stay again? Absolutely.

Now, about the quirks — because what’s a historic hotel without a little eccentricity? The bathroom fixtures had a bit of a rebellious streak, and the pillows on the first night were very enthusiastic (read: thick enough to qualify as furniture). But we found flatter pillows in the closet for the second night. Problem solved! The bed was soft and could probably use an upgrade, but the room temperature was absolutely perfect — a serious win when D.C. decides to crank up the heat into triple digits. The in-room kitchenette was lovely, with a great coffee maker and thoughtful amenities that made mornings much easier.

The location and the antique feel of the hotel that took us back 150 years.

Everything is old borderline falling apart. Even the flooring made noise and the carpets was worn-out. Strange smell.

This is an old fashioned boutique hotel but I just love it. Perfect location, friendly staff, great beds! Not a fancy place - you feel like you’re in a film noir movie from the 30’s! The restaurant is surprisingly good !!!! And the bar in the back is fantastic - though drinks are a little pricey!

It’s an historic hotel so it is predictable that there would be some plumbing challenges and creaky floors. better coffee, coffee makers, and bigger mugs in the rooms would have enhanced my stay.

The location of the hotel was ideal for my purposes and the Venetian Room Bar was a nice quiet place to relax over a cocktail away from the crowded loudness of the rest of the city.

Not sure of the other rooms since suites were also available..so it may not be the best for families.. I traveled with my pre teen granddaughter so. we could make do with a king bed. I would have liked a small refrigerator in the room and I had to ask for ice each night since there isn’t an ice machine. I love old buildings and this hotel did not disappoint. From the gleaming brass to the beautiful doors and moulding… breakfast was delicious and the waiter very attentive. There also is a very attractive bar open in the evenings.

The only thing is, It happened to us two of three nights we stayed, we heard the loud beeps from car driving backwards at around 6am.

I liked that it didn't feel like a hotel room. I loved having a ceiling fan.

Breakfast was outstanding! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for walking to all historic sights and the neighborhood felt very safe.

Valley parking is a bit expensive

Location was excellent. Property was unique and charming. Bed was super comfortable. Every staff interaction was delightful.

To experience the charms of a nearly 100 year old property you may need to put up with a few quirks. On one of our three nights the heating/cooling system made a racket for a few minutes during the night. (The other two nights no problem at all). The hotel has a “speakeasy” feel. Not too much natural light except in the front facing restaurant.
