Hotel Metropol, Warsaw

I liked the prompt response of the staff. Whenever I needed something in my room and called the reception, action was taken immediately or I would be provided with alternative options. For instance, I spent the first three nights in a standard room but due to a failing air conditioner, noise from the trams and excessive light from 4 am sunrise, I was provided with an alternative room which had a functional AC and facing a different location so the light and noise was reduced significantly. Turns out the new room was an upgrade to an executive room!

I booked my room through booking.com. It indicated that it is a bed and breakfast and the option of payment I selected was supposed to allow me to pay on arrival. However, once I submitted my debit card details, the amount was deducted upfront without even an option to confirm the amount to be deducted. Turns out the transaction cost was quite high! In addition, at the point of checking in at Metropol, I was informed that my booking did not include breakfast! I have not received a response from booking.com so far on this issue. So, my recommendation is to book the room directly from Metropol.

I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in an Executive twin room (912) from 21-24 May. The room was lovely, light, airy, modern and very spacious with fridge and coffee/tea facilities and a safety box. There was lots of wardrobe space. The bathroom was well-laid out with some complimentary toiletries. The buffet breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold dishes. The location of the hotel is really good - just a few minutes walk from the Central train station. There is a huge shopping centre attached to the train station. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the beautiful old town from the hotel. The Hop on, hop off bus stop is right next to the Palace of Culture and Science which is a two-minute walk from the hotel. There are lots of restaurants all around the hotel if you don’t want to walk too far. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Warsaw.

As a lot of guests already mentioned, there is quite a lot of noise from the traffic, but for us it didn’t matter too much as we were so tired after a day of sight-seeing so we actually slept quite well (the hotel also provides ear plugs next to the night stand, but we didn’t use them). The traffic noise would not stop me from staying here again.

Truly central location. Had a fabulous time walking around the city (never had to take metro or bus) still getting to see much of Warsaw's attractions. Good comfortable rooms, clean facilities and friendly staff. I also must mention the drinking water facility next to the lifts - what a blessing. I enjoyed the sparkling water. The location can be noisy but the room had a soundproof door that locks out everything. Got good nights sleep on all 3 nights.

Excellent location, right in the city center and close to everything. The shower was good, and the rooms were very clean, new, and nice. Check-in was easy.

The staff could be more engaging and welcoming when greeting guests. Showing enthusiasm for their work would also be beneficial.

Great breakfast with a lot of choice, even better location, near everything, restaurants, stores, shopping trains, buses, trams, and the old city is only 30min away on a leisurely pace.

Noise, despite being on the 8th floor the noise from the streets below are still audible, but props to the hotel because there were 3M earplugs on the rooms already waiting.

Super convenient location if you travel to Warsaw by train and also for exploring the city (tram, bus stops and metro are very close). Nice staff, very good hotel breakfast, tasty drinks at the hotel bar, overall very clean. Filtered water in hallways is great. Great cafés around, The Culture and Science Palace landmark literally across the street.

Low water pressure in shower.

The hotel is situated next to a busy roundabout (cars, trams, busses) and sometimes you can hear very faint beeping inside the room. The room service will give you earplugs every day - use them.

Excellent location. I think this is an old hotel but very well renovated. Room and bathroom were nice looking and clean. Breakfast was great. Wifi very reliable. Recommended

Very central, very clean, friendly staff. Wonderful view of some of the last high floor trams (Konstal 1995) to be built anywhere in the world.

Noise can be an issue, smell of cigarettes in the roam seems to be coming from the outside, pillows can be better.
