Ruby Lissi Hotel, Vienna

Very different and interesting concept of an urban hotel. Decor was unique, room layout modern. All the staff young and in multiple roles. Interesting the exchange of free drinks for less daily cleaning of the room, which most times is unnecessary for a 3-4 nights stays.

They can improve on the breakfast items refurbishment, sometimes you had to wait for items to come.

Excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, automatic check in and check out, great location with easy access to transit and interesting dining/shopping. Very high quality rooms, comfortable.

Check in was automatic. Somehow we overlooked that we needed to indicate that we wanted our room cleaned so it was only on day three of four that the room was cleaned. Our own fault for not ticking off that we wanted our room cleaned when checking in, but would it make more sense to opt out of housekeeping rather having to opt in?

Very centrally located and thus perfect to get around in Vienna. The staff was mainly very pleasant, professional and nice. Love the casual atmosphere.

I am not a complainer, but wouldn’t opt out of the daily cleaning again for stays longer than 2-3 days. I also witnessed an unprofessionell receptionist that wasn’t discreet about guests. However, that was in stark contrast to the overall welcoming and pleasant staff and I mention it merely as room for improvement.

The staff is very nice, the location is great to go to conference and have a drink in the evening, the rooms was very comfy so was the bed.

the self checking, the address for late checking that is not really given, you have to enter from the other side of the building but there is no indication and the property does not reply on booking app and as for the checkout, they say they will send you the bill but after 2 days I have not recieved anything, would be much simple to print it and give it upon check out like in regular hotel, especially for work travelers.

The location is very central and close to metro

Even thought the cleaners were coming daily, the room wasn’t cleaned but only tided. There is room for improvement.

Great location, and generally a nice concept for a hotel. Good selection at breakfast with coffee, tea and juice refills appreciated. The deck was a lovely concept. I can imagine in good weather the outside part being popular. Comfortable beds with minimal sleep disruption.

Bits of the hotel look a bit tired. We were friends travelling together and didn’t quite realise that the shower/toilet is a translucent box in the centre of the room. We found that really inconvenient as the curtain didn’t completely cover the screen with a mirror opposite it so we had to get very comfortable! Odd design. Our shower was leaking to the toilet area and we also weren’t provided with a bath matt on occasion so had to use a hand towel. One side of the bed was without a bed side table so it didn’t feel big enough to accommodate both of us for 5 days.

A galley (tea and coffee) is advertised as being on multiple floors but was closed off on ours so had to go to another floor.

Breakfast was tasty but at the price point I thought there might be more hot options and variance daily, it was all very similar. A few occasions where we had to ask for bowls/plates and whether things were going to be topped up.

Perhaps some more outside signage to find the hotel. We didn’t realise for a few minutes that the building is shared with a gym/postal service and couldn’t see a sign on the building apart from the automatic doors.

Some nice speakers in the room to set a good mood while in the room. Looked pretty new.

Even though we didn’t hear the speakers from other rooms, the door slamming was there at any moment at night or early morning, along with loud speaking people with hallway conversations.

Excellent location, lovely boutique hotel vibe. Really cute room and nice common areas like the bar area, perfect for a city break. Shower was amazing!

Only minor thing was that the duvet in the bed was cut into two pieces horizontally so I’d get cold when turning at night. But this might just be a cultural difference

Perfect location, comfy bed, very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast - lots of choice. The cinnamon overnight oats a real favourite. Overall a unique and charming hotel.

Having to walk across the stairwell and corridor to access tea and coffee facilities.The central stage/raised plinth area by breakfast/bar area - I tripped on it and fell spraining my wrist and hurting my knee and foot also. I witnessed another man trip also during our stay.

Location, comfort, great breakfast

Stayed 5 nights - although our towels were changed daily (which really didn’t need to be) the rest of the room could have been cleaned better on occasions (floor cleaned and dusted on shelves).

The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring central Vienna, also close to train and tube stations. The bed was really big and comfy and we liked the room. The hotel bar is very nice too

We weren’t used to the open shower situation, and the door to the room was quite thin so we could hear when people would be talking and walking past at night.

The location is great, the staff are excellent, the bar/facilities at the hotel are great. The room is clean, modern and fully working. The shower is exceptional.

I know the hotel does offer a "galley" on two of its floors, with free coffee and tea. With a vending machine with lite snacks. However personally you cannot beat having tea/coffee making facilities in the room. This is my only negative.

This hotel is very well located to do everything in the city center by foot. The area is less busy than the main plaza where St Stephan’s cathedral is, but it still is a 5-10 minute walk there and has plenty of options of restaurants and shops around. If you need to go to other parts of the city, there is a train station next door that will connect you to the rest of the city. I also really liked the decor inside the hotel and the breakfast was amazing. A Plus is that they have live music like jazz in some evenings, which was unexpected and enjoyable.

Nothing I didn’t like

The location was good, right next to the metro station and police office which makes you feel a bit safer.it’s convenient to walk pretty much everywhere you need as a tourist. The room was very spacious.

The room was dusty- you could see the dust in the vent (the photo does not show it) and on the shelves above the bed.

Probably my mistake - I have missed that the sink is in the bedroom itself and the shower is see-through so it’s not very private. Also the glass toilet door does not provide any privacy.

Quirky experience in the middle of Vienna with eclectic interiors with the best showers. Upgraded greatly appreciated and fact that heating was not excessive

No cash facility

the place is very special, "bizarre" decoration and some unexpected surprises, for example, a Marshall Amplifier for Electric Guitars in the room!!! Besides that, the location cannot be better.

There's no room service, which is really necessary. The distance between reception and the rooms is too long. Also, yes, they say there's a detailed cleaning every 3 days, but it should be daily; the room gets very dusty.

Clean, comfortable room in an excellent location. Easy check-in and check-out.

The room did not have a mini-fridge or kettle.

The bathroom is part of the room with a glass screen around it, the hand basin is part of the vanity unit, so it is impossible to be discreet if you need to use the toilet in the night or want privacy for your ablutions.
There is no tea/coffee making in the room. Tea and coffee is provided free in one of 2 areas in the hotel, but does mean you have to get up and dressed to have a cup of tea/coffee - no relaxing in bed with one. Breakfast is only cold items, no hot or cooked food bar toast, and no hotel restaurant.
None of these things are necessarily deal breakers. However, the hotel description should make these things clear when you are booking and not leave you underwhelmed when you find out on arrival.
