Hotel am Brillantengrund, Vienna

The place looks absolutely beautiful. The inner garden and the blooming porch looks different at any time of the day. After 00:00, it is very quiet. The breakfast is very nice. The staff were very helpful.

I ordered for a 2 single bed room but the hotel never saw this request. No air conditioning - that's the first thing to improve.

Great apartment, good size. Lovely layout and furniture. The main bed was extremely comfortable. The small kitchen as well was well supplied with utensils. This accommodation was a great base for our three day stay in Vienna. The morning breakfast, included in the price, was delicious.

The sofa bed in the second room was quirky in style and looked great BUT very uncomfortable for the person sleeping on it. Luckily we didn't use one of the quilts so the person slept on that, and made the bed bearable. I would purchase a mattress topper to improve the comfort. There was a lot of noise, and some smoke,from the very busy downstairs restaurant. This wasn't a problem for our apartment, which overlooked the street, but for the rooms overlooking the courtyard, which were the majority, this may be an issue. I'm glad we upgraded to a larger two bedroom apartment but it did cost us extra (the same as an extra night).

The restaurant was delicious and the courtyard charming. The staff was so friendly and acommodating.

A few more amenities in the bathroom, like washcloths and shampoo & conditioner.

The beautiful courtyard used as a bar until quite late at night was pretty loud up in the room. We were lucky to have earplugs with us.

The only small thing, was that the soundproofing towards the courtyard was not great. We stayed in March so only a few guests were out there on Saturday night, but I imagine that it could get quite noisy in summer.

I think the concept of two slices of rye bread, an egg, cheese, ham, somehow worn vegetables and a bit of Granola Müslie for Breakfast is a littel bit too spartanic for the price charged. Especially since there is no proper coffee creme ("Verlängerter" in Vienna) from the machine but only some "Filterkaffee"...

Clean spacious rooms. Very comfy beds with everything you need in the room. Breakfast was simple but excellent. Staff were helpful and kind.

Nothing. Other reviews state an issue with the noise from the courtyard being very noticeable however given it was winter and no one was sitting in the courtyard this wasn’t an issue we experienced.

Our room was very basic.

It was conevniently located. Pretty near the subway and the bus. Aldo the property was clean and had the restaurant inside.

It was quite noisy because of the restaurant. The rooms were not sound-proof. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable. They should need to be replaced urgently. In the toilet there was not hair conditioner. Just a shampoo to be used in hair and body. For people traveling light, a shampoo and hair conditioner is very much appreciated.

Excellent location. Great breakfast. Reception staff were very friendly and informative. I left something behind which the staff found and kept for me. We were able to store luggage after check out.

No coffee to go with kettle in the bedroom. Not enough plug points in room.

My room got weirdly hot (I estimate about 10C warmer than outside). Due to the layout of the hotel it's possible for anyone to walk into the hotel room via a fully open window, which made me uncomfortable. Hotel was a little tricky for me to locate but still walking distance from nearest U-Bahn stations.

Location and ambience great. Room good for the price, very hot due to temperatures in Vienna. Breakfast great, we didn't eat dinner there but it was very popular. If you wnat to eat on Friday and Saturday night you must book.

Beautiful hotel with amazing patio. Very original with the 60ies design. Room was nice and clean. There are different options for breakfast, all very simple but delicious and totally satisfying.

I already reviewed this hotel from our first stay a week before. The location was good and the breakfast was good.

We stayed at the hotel twice , For 4 nights and then for 3 nights a week later.The rooms were both comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was large which was fine as we were then on the go in the city. the location was good with buses and trams close (a few minutes) ant the metro a few more minutes on a long pedestrian shopping street.

there is not much we didn't like. When people were outside and talking on the ground floor while having drinks they sound reverberated up to our room.

the noises of the internal courtyard are amplified and are heard a lot from the room. This happens both early in the morning when cleaning starts on the ground floor and in the restaurant, and if someone stops to chat late in the evening in the restaurant

There is a real sense of atmosphere, the hotel has a personality that makes it cozy, personable, and unique. The rooms were fine, but the decor of the facilities were amazing, using mid century furniture in the restaurant and lots of other small details and decorations in the lobby and rooms gave everything a special ambiance.

Maybe the walls are a bit thin, but it’s an older building so we don’t hold it against them!

The breakfast was good, tasty and nicely presented, but it was the first time, when I had to order breakfast with menu. It's actually good. I also liked the style of the hotel - vintage design, many artworks, lovely place. To sum up, a nice, atmospheric, informal hotel where I felt good, comfortable, happy and enjoyed all the meals and the lovely room.

The hotel was nice and people working there as well, although a bit impersonal feeling. Maybe because I arrived late nobody was there at the reception and also later I hardly met anyone, but in general it's also not so necessary. And to my opinion for a 3 star hotel the price was too high even for an Easter time. But maybe that is a totally normal price for a Vienna city.

Cute retro design in the room and the restaurant. Great selection of breakfast options. Young friendly staff. Water pressure and shower head were optimal. Courtyard was charming and quiet. Good location for feeling like a local, not a tourist paths.

The mattress and pillows were substandard. Lighting options in the room were not great. Wasn’t spending any time in the room, so it was fine, but it wasn’t a nice space to relax in.

superb location in the middle of vibrant 7th precinct, good underground parking 2 min away. excellent breakfast and nice restaurant (closed Mondays) with Phillipine cuisine. very friendly staff; outside eating in summer in courtyard; wonderful and quaint place; been there many times and plan to come back;

Great, helpful staff all around. Strategic position to explore the city on foot, and just a stone's throw away from the buses to and from the train stations.

The soundproofing of the room was... interesting. The room gave onto the internal courtyard, so some noise from that direction was expected and not really annoying. However, the doors and walls are pretty thin, and I could hear the couple from the door across mine whenever they went to the bathroom or danced the horizontal tango. There are worse soundtracks, I guess.rr

Friendly, helpful and polite staff. Breakfast and the staff were super, they made a vegan breakfast for me. Inner ward is nice. I like the style of this hotel.

Music was too loud for too late on Monday evening in the restaurant. The room was small, but still cold. Good for one night stay, otherwise the lack of windows would be too much.

Nice hotel where you can spend 1 or 2 nights. All in all, everything is very good. Breakfast - there are several options, but for me it was easy.

Hotel was easy to find and location was good to walk to various points of interest. The lady on reception explained to us where to park our car. Parking can be difficult in Vienna. Our room was fairly basic but was clean and comfortable. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was brilliant. All of the staff were very helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We loved the vintage decor of the hotel with its mid century furniture and interesting photos and art work. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and warm. Breakfast was good too with plenty of choice. The hotel was also well placed for shops, bars and restaurants.

We can't really find much fault - though as guests we were unable to eat dinner in the restaurant as it was fully booked.

This hotel is located in the 7th district and we later learned from our tour guide that it's (one of) the best for food and drinks, trendy little shops (incl. second hand and vintage) and overall atmosphere. We can confirm! Also, it's extremely well-connected with different means of public transportation, it felt very safe, more or less quiet. Hotel-wise we liked and appreciated the communication, the breakfast area and breakfast itself, cute courtyard.

We know that the description said each of the rooms is individually furnished but despite that disclaimer the difference between what we saw in the photos (and based on which we decided to book) and in our room was disappointing. It looks like the images show only the more tasteful, edgy and timelessly furnished rooms while we got one that was none of those things. The room was also extremely cold on our arrival but I guess that's inevitable with the energy-saving measures all around Europe so, not an actual shortcoming.

Small kitchen within the room

We went to Vienna for a Concert and, as my wife is a coeliac, needed somewhere self catering near the concert venue and a supermarket. This hotel was fit for purpose on all counts.

All good except just needed a little attention to detail. Double room but 1 fork, 1 coffee mug, 1 teaspoon. Also just need to update their info on Booking.com. Advertised as having a microwave but none there, having a telephone but none there etc. There was a wine listed on the mini bar list but none there. Just little things but overall important.
