I loved the artsy-ness of it all, the bedbug in the room was absolutely adorable; and the bed (from the sheets to pillows) was wonderful. The gardens were beautiful, and the hospitality was above expectations, so kind and friendly!

The fridge was a little poor (not very cold) and there wasn’t coffee within the room.

The hotel was beautiful (I’m an interior designer), so loved the location, and the staff was the best. Great recommendations, and so caring! Special mention to Victoria who took great care of us!

The bar was great as we were are large group and it’s quirky design.

The rooms are extremely small and we were forced to upgrade to a larger room and still didn’t fit. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with significant amounts of luggage or attending a wedding as no where it hang anything to place items.

It had such a cool vibe, the beds were so comfortable, the staff was helpful, and we had an amazing breakfast on the rooftop!!

We ran out of shampoo and conditioner.

Great hotel!

Beautiful decor and lots of entertainment

The hotel itself is beautiful but it’s the staff and events that really make this place stand out. From check-in to check out the staff were all amazing. They helped us navigate the city and provided excellent recommendations for local places to visit.

No complaints here, everything was awesome!

Cool vibe

I think it was overpriced and not enough amenities, for $600+ I expected a fridge for example.

Trendy. Good location. Lots of options for snacks and drinks in room. Something different. Cool art around hotel. Clean space.

Very small for price. Very cramped and cluttered feel. Loud fan and people in next room were loud. Front desk girl with the aqua hair was very rude. No parking available. Toilet didn’t flush. No smart tv/ poor quality tv/ no Netflix available. Not helped with bags. Toilet was right beside bed and offered very little/ no privacy if you are staying with another person

Location good. Staff was nice. Dirty outside. ok security.

They did not service the room. No parking on site. Price was outrageous. No amenities.

It was extremely expensive for a very small room. The shower door did not close all the way so a large area of the bathroom got very wet when the shower was in use. The sink was clogged and backed up when you use the faucet. 

The front desk staff were wonderful

The front desk reception people were excellent. Extremely personable and helpful. The staff in the café and downstairs bar worked very hard. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean.

The music on the 2nd floor was WAY to loud from morning until late night/ early morning. There were also issues with our a/c the first night. Thankfully, the front desk clerk was able to transfer us to another room for the 2nd. Unfortunately, it was closer to the lounge.

Very different and unique in a good way! Would love to go back again

No fridge in room

My husband and i were very happy with our stay at the Drake. the staff where friendly and facilities were excellent. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend the Drake to others.

Location is excellent, food in the restaurant was delicious. reception staff were very pleasant but not well informed about timings etc.

Breakfast was on more than one occasion not served when publicised. This disrupted our day. Our room was not serviced daily even when requested. The manager George was attentive answering emails etc when we were resident but has failed to respond subsequently

The room was very small to fit a couple. There were no mini-fridge, which we requested and was brought to the room. There was a renovation going with a lot of noise early in the morning and during the day. You can hear everything that happen in the hallway and from the other rooms.

Such a unique and beautiful hotel. Absolutely loved the decor and art. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The complimentary cocktail in the lounge was a delicious treat! Definitely will be back!

Funky room and decor

No coffee in the room had me

The staff was so helpful. They knew the area so well. When a needed a niche place to eat, they are ready with a great suggestion. The ease of staying there when you have a show at the Underground is matchless. I will definitely stay there again.

Clean hotel. Amazing staff. The room was lovely and had great interior design.

Apart from the ridiculous noise issue, which was obviously a dealbreaker, everything was really great. Clean crips linens, up to date trimmings, staff were all great, location is great, rooms well laid out and nice to be in. As you'd hope from a boutique arty hotel, the decoration was really fun and whimsical. Loved the art, and the plushies that sit on the bed were so so sweet and a nice touch for a solo traveller. I loved the one that in the first room so much I purchased it from the desk. The cafe and lobby are both nice places to spend time, nice choice of music and good atmosphere.

The NOISE. The room I was given, 311/The Nook, is right above the club/bar area, and the floor is NOT soundproof. It was so, so loud. Consistently around 60db as measured on my bad quality phone. I rang my partner and he immediately identified Crazy by Gnarls Barkley - via the phone, with me sitting on the bed. The floor was shaking and rumbling. I've been in quieter club bathrooms. I put in earplugs and played white noise at top volume on my phone and it did absolutely nothing. In the end I had to ask for a room change, which they were thankfully able to accommodate as they had one free. What would they have done if the hotel had been fully booked?? Mystery. The person who took me to the new room said they get complaints a lot, which makes sense - but why rent a room out for someone to sleep in when you know the noise levels are unbearable for anyone with functioning hearing? It puts the onus on the guest to complain, which is not right. I loved everything else about the hotel but I would be wary of staying again, and will warn others too. I have lived in party houses before and I'm pretty gung-ho about some beats in the distance, but this was just torture - expensive, too. In my haste to leave I also forgot a couple personal items in the room, which the hotel staff didn't find - just some basic toiletries, but what a pain I now also have to replace them. The hotel seems well run so I don't understand the logic here. Either put a proper soundproof floor into the room, or stop renting it out for people to sleep in.

Awesome art, cool aesthetic and a very convenient location. The staff was also cool and the food at the cafe was great.

i was in the classic wing unfortunately there wasn’t an elevator like what the Morden wing has.

The Drake is fun and funky - a younger staff and clientele but we certainly don't feel out of place as mid-40 somerhings. The rooms are very comfortable, immaculate, have nice modern amenities, very comfortable beds, high quality linens, modern bathrooms, and very accessible. Lots of thoughtful details like many hooks, full-length mirrors, small bar fridge, Google chromecast on the TV, etc. The rooms aren't huge but they make excellent use of the space. The staff are overwhelmingly pleasant and helpful, and there is fantastic food, coffee and cocktails available at the restaurant and cafe in the hotel. We like the Parkdale neighborhood, close to great restaurants and bars on Ossington and walking distance to the ever changing shops and restaurants on Queen west. This was a weekday stay and the hotel was quieter than it usually is on weekends. It wouldn't be my first pick for a business trip if I had work to do at the hotel, but it's ideal for a leisurely escape to the city. I wouldn't pay rack rate, but it's good value at Booking.com prices.

We were expecting a good sized room based on the square footage, however about 1/3 of that space is a wide hallway leading to the main room, which was itself pretty small - not helped visually by the funky but very dark wallpaper. The window wasn't very big and provided limited natural light and view of tiny internal courtyard surrounded by other windows. There's no in-room coffee maker (however I got the best latte I've ever had at the cafe downstairs).

I always try to stay at the Drake when in Toronto. Best value for money, everything exactly as I want it.

None! Coffee in the breakfast restaurant was cold but I mentioned to the helpful staff and this was immediately fixed.

It was our wedding night and our stay was perfect. The room was great. The decor was wonderful, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This hotel exceeded my expectations and I only rented a crash pad (the smallest room I believe). Sure there were minor issues and I had issues with my partner, but the staff were almost all overwhelmingly positive and they went above and beyond to say the least!!! Beautiful place!!!

The property is beautiful!!!

Queen West is an enjoyable part of Toronto for an overnight stay. The bar/restaurant delivered a good product and the servers are very kind and pleasant. I can’t find anything else to highlight or recommend, unfortunately.

The overall state of the property’s cleanliness and up keeping is very mediocre at best and absent in the rooms and upper floors. Carpets are filthy, stained and deteriorated both in the rooms and hallways; bathroom sinks had mold in some parts and so did the shower floors. It’s hard to describe beyond stating the property is just not even kept to the minimum standard expected to charge a guest for a stay anywhere. Extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable and, no, the fact the building is aged is no excuse and as there certainly is enough evidence globally in your industry to corroborate this.

The styling of the room was amazing, I loved the location and the amenities in the room were lovely.

There was a wedding happening while I was there so it was quite noisy but that didn’t bother be too much, weddings have to happen !

the room itself did not fulfil its basic requirements- 2 coat hooks were the only storage facility for all the clothes. no drawer at all for essentials. no cupboard / shelves. We ended up spending the 4days with the room in disarray. very disappointed. very expensive for a very substandard room.

The room was clean and thoughtfully decorated. Nice bathroom, I liked the products provided (hand soap, body wash, body lotion - because of my curly hair I used my own hair care products so can’t attest to those).

I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the warm / hot water in the shower. The outlet (where you turn the water on - sorry, I don’t know what they’re called in English) only turned in one direction and that seemed to regulate the amount of water coming out. I didn’t find any buttons or levered I could push / pull / turn to get the shower to tun warm water.

Very cosy and welcoming, felt like a home away from home! Staff were very friendly. Beautifully designed and cafe was great.

It would have been nice to have a fridge in my room however the staff happily refridgerated things for me

The room was very small. It also seemed to be above a nightclub that pumped music that went on until 4.30am. We were informed of this at check-in but not prior to booking. It is totally unreasonable to expect someone to pay for a room in this circumstance. This reflects very poorly on Booking.com

Nice decor .

Rooms a bit small but well equipped

We were expecting to have in our room a coffee machine and some coffee and tea, a small refrigerator, a Bluetooth alarm clock radio to listen to some music we have on our phones. These basic things are available in almost all hotels and motels.

Location spot on. Staff are attentive and nothing is too much. Recommended.

Be aware this hotel has busy bar areas and some rooms overlook a busy Queen street west expect low noice due to both.
