Hotel Saul, Tel Aviv
Hotel Saul, named after the prominent Hebrew poet Saul Tchernichovsky, is a charming boutique property that captures the spirit of Tel Aviv. Built in 1947, the hotel honors the city’s past with traditional terrazzo floors—some even etched with the poet’s own verses—while offering a modern, minimalist interior designed by architect Dan Troim. The aesthetic balances exposed concrete and industrial steel with warm walnut furniture, potted greenery, and soft Egyptian cotton linens.
The hotel is notably eco-conscious, holding a Green Key certification, which is reflected in thoughtful details like energy-efficient lighting and sustainable operations. Guests can enjoy a complimentary wine bar, a gourmet sandwich café on the ground floor, and a rooftop space that offers a quiet perch to view the cityscape. The rooms feature soundproofed windows and personalized touches like Netflix-ready TVs, ensuring a comfortable stay despite the active urban surroundings.
Situated right in the heart of the city, the hotel is perfectly placed between the beach and the bustling city center. It is just a short stroll from iconic spots like the historic Bialik Square, the lush Gan Meir park, and the vibrant Rothschild Boulevard.
For those looking to dive into local culture, the legendary Carmel Market is nearby, offering a sensory experience of fresh spices and local delicacies. Whether you are walking to the Bauhaus Center to admire the city’s unique architecture or heading to the nearby Mediterranean coastline, Hotel Saul serves as an authentic and stylish gateway to the best of Tel Aviv.

Hotel Saul itself is a fine place to stay.
The Saul Hotel was perfect for my stay and quite worth the price.
The staff are very helpful and will try to accommodate you as much as possible: they allowed me to stow a suitcase for several days while ravelling in another city before arriving in TLV; they let me use cutlery from the rooftop kitchen as my delivery did not have any; and they tried to grant me an extended check-out if possible per my late flight. Overall a very considerate and accommodating demeanour.
As soon as I arrived, one of the front desk employees went ahead and placed my suitcase in my room on my behalf where I found a personally handwritten note to welcome me. Simple but very thoughtful and friendly gestures.
Much like European hotels do, the Saul's room maximizes its limited space quite well, but somehow with a bit more substance. The bed was comfortable and not saggy, all of the linens were crisp and soft, and the bathroom shower conveniently had both a handheld and a waterfall shower head along with soap/shampoo/conditioner provided. They also had a retractable shade to keep out the sun when desired---all of these touches and accommodations but with clean, almost airy decor mixing practicality with eclectic Tel-Avivian artistry.
Something to note is that they do not staff the hotel 24/7 like American hotels do under round-the-clock shifts (though they do lock the doors for guests' safety), and I think they take turns sleeping on the property overnight while not at the front desk, or maybe they are just on call. I was not entirely sure how they operated, but this is to be considerate of when you have a non-emergency request during the night/early-morning hours before they "open."
I found the Saul's location to be convenient to nearly everything: the beach, cute cafés and nice restaurants, quick shopping, and some public transportation. When I didn't want to eat out, it was easy to use the popular Wolt app and meet the delivery guy downstairs.
Some minor complaints about the hotel itself are that housekeeping seem to start a little earlier than I am accustomed to, around 0900 rather than 1000 as seems would be more convenient for most guests when they sleep in and then leave for the day (or at least, this is the usual starting time in American and European hotels). The bathroom sink also seemed a little insufficiently deep and wide for the space, so the water often splashed onto the countertop and sometimes the floor. It is appreciated that the shower did not cause any mess on the floor.

I do wish to add that the staff at Gili Café were very rude, certainly most of the young girls there. This café may or may not be affiliated with the Saul Hotel, as I also could not figure this out, either. You will know the staff is targeting you with their hostility when they suddenly act cold, passive-aggressive, and petty tit-for-tat. If they could roll back the camera footage to explain why exactly, that would be great. Then they still expected me to leave a service tip at the end of all this! It honestly gives the impression that Gili Café is quietly targeting non-Jews with deliberately unfriendly treatment that they do not show to their fellow Jews, so as to discourage non-Jews from eating here.
Any non-Jew who bothers travelling to Israel obviously does not accuse Israel of committing "genocide," so have some gratitude if you won't have basic respect. Culture makes a place and whether it is worth your time and money to visit: I honestly encountered this bratty treatment from a lot of females throughout TLV (a very Leftist city that openly embraces moral filth), and I point this out here specifically because the cafe is in the Saul Hotel's lobby.

Nice comfortable room with amazing beds and pillows. Terrace with 24/7 free drinks
Very comfortable beds. Room was big enough and had balcony. Nice design and quiet airco. On the 4th floor a nice cool terrace with free drinks 24/7 which was great.
We had the room at the front of the building and street sounds sometimes are audible.

Wonderful little gem of a hotel near the beach and the market
Warm, wonderful, friendly hotel. We sadly were robbed at the beach in Tel Aviv and the kind staff made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay more comfortable in a very, very stressful moment. Very accommodating and helpful. It's a wonderful quiet boutique hotel with a great breakfast menu in a terrific location. Would go back in a second.

What a fabulous space! The hotel is in a great location, close to beach and markets. Staff go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome, particularly the manager, Danny. There are free drinks for residents, fabulous breakfast offered and a super cool vibe. A must stay in Tel Aviv!

The room is a bit small, but it's fine for two people.

Our favourite hotel in TLV
We love the Saul - they have fantastic staff - simple effective hotel with nice design. They have a great cafe partner in the lobby. Net net its our favourite TLV Hotel. They have a partnership with a parking garage which is super close and perfectly practical.
All good

Very pleasant boutique hotel in an excellent yet quiet central location.
Very pleasant boutique hotel in an excellent yet quiet central location. We loved the design and the overall vibe and were especially pleased with the breakfast and its lovely setting in the downstairs cafe.
Nice restaurants, the Meir Park, Carmel Market and lots of Bauhaus gems are all within walking distance.
Our room was small, but had a nice urban feel to it and was situated on the back of the building, which made it very quiet.
Nothing!

Great vibes and lovely staff
Great location, clean and spacious. The place has a certain unique vibe, especially with its nice and welcoming staff. The arrangement with the parking is a big plus.
Would have preferred to have a queen bed instead of two separate single beds

wonderful hotel with great extras.
loved the 4th floor lounge with drinks and a nice place to lounge around- open 24/7! the cafe in the lobby is also wonderful with high quality food and sweets.
I didn’t like there was not overnight personnel at the front desk. they are only a phone call away- but still, I would have liked that.
