We like the location and the staff were great but for a 5 stars hotel, we expected a coffee machine in the room, offer of amenities even if they were not available in the rooms The room had only one night table and nothing on the other side. We would have liked to have a shower room separated We were very disappointing in tour so called 3 stars Michelin restaurant. One of the dishes we ordered was braised chicken and we were very surprised to get chicken with skin on it and bones and so little chicken. We have been to many Michelin restaurants and for 3 stars we expected something But overall we loved the hotel and the location

This is a wonderful hotel, fantastic breakfast with a very attentive staff. Very convenient location close to the train and metro station.

Great location, beautiful rooms, and a good price. The staff was incredibly helpful in recommending restaurants and calling ahead for reservations and to explain food allergies on our behalf.

The location is very good, beside a shopping mall, there are lots of eateries around this area.

Maybe the staff at the restaurant can buck up their English.

They have a spacious bathtub, really big bed and the location is fantastic. Near a shopping mall, bus station and all the Train, Metro and HSR station! Nearby has ample food outlets and convenience stores.

This hotel is pure class from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. It oozes professionalism. The room was exquisite, and we could certainly not ask for more. Breakfast choices was amazing. All we can say is wow!!!!

It's a beautiful hotel with a very nice and professional staff. My room was very comfortable.

The room incl. interior I was provided with differed from what I initially booked.

Very central and the rooms are comfortable and well designed. The buffet breakfast is enormous and comprehensive - it’s a solid place to stay.

They have chosen a “European castle” decor theme which is a bit odd in the dining room - zero windows to the outside which is a bold choice and not very cheerful for breakfast. But doesn’t really matter if you’re going out and about!

I have stayed at many hotels. Palais de Chine Hotel Taipei was exceptional. It's 6 star service. Cyndie was fantastic. I was given a welcome fruit platter on arrival. She found out it was my birthday in 3 weeks time and arranged a small gift (decorated dessert platter) to my room during my stay and a takeaway breakfast because of my super early departure on my last day. Love the environmentally friendly glass water bottle use instead of the plastic bottles and sparkling water dispensing machine. The VIP executive lounge has great selection of beverage with relaxing area and classically decorated.

The hotel is in an excellent location - close to the metro/train/bus stations, close to shopping, and restaurants. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet one morning. It had a variety of options, both western and local cuisine. All the staff were so very friendly and helpful. I liked that they had an excellent bottle refilling station on each floor. They also provided us with instant coffee and tea, and bath salts.

The hotel is SOOO dark. Why do they have the lighting throughout the hotel (and I mean everywhere!) set so dim? While the AI cube in the room was a fun novelty, it was just that. A novelty that was frustrating to operate at times. The room is an open floor plan, meaning that the bathroom is open to the room. You do have a privacy curtain, you can pull to block off part of the bathroom, but it's definitely better suited to a couple and not a family with teens. The most annoying thing had to be the motion activated light over the sink (which could not be blocked by the curtain). Normally, that's a good thing for using the bathroom at night, but once the light is on, it doesn't turn off automatically. You have to do it manually. Remembering, while your half asleep, which switch turns it off or figure out how to use the AI box to turn it off, was not fun.

The location is great! Right next to a mall, got a great coffee shop Twin Brothers Coffee and close to transport. Their teas are amazing too. I would have got some as souvenir to give as a gift had I known earlier. Staff are very friendly.

The air quality of room can be a bit fresher.

The hotel location is the main reason I chose to stay here, very convenient and easy access to Taipei Main Station. Luxurious hotel with style, rooms were very clean and spacious. Our family tried the breakfast 1 day and were really impressed by the choices and also taste. Overall highly recommend if you are after a nice modern hotel for your Taipei stay.

Room A/C & lights were tricky to navigate but using the AI control board did the trick for us so all good.

The keys got spoiled and we could not get into the room. Staff got up to replace the keys, after quite a while. The bathtub was dirty, still had some dirty water in it. One of the sliding door was faulty, I afraid of it falling down every time I want to get clothes.

Great hotel to stay, shopping and dining within the area . Train station across the junction. Rooms with nice and feasible layout. Truly enjoyed the 2 nights stay.

Breakfast a little let down, but not a problem as many choices nearby too.

The location is golden. They have water station for still and sparkling water on each floor, bathroom amentities were luxurious, and the service was the best I ever had in Taipei

Some breakfast items were inconsistent in quality - probably due to staff/chef shortfall. Traffic noise in the room - not sound proof, unfortunately. Automated lights were pretty difficult to control or manage.

Lights were difficult to control via their control panel, room can be a little too dim so this place is perfect for couples 🤗

Right next to Taipei Main Station. Very central and places just walking distance from the property. Is right next to a mall and also several convenience stores around. Service staff are friendly and helpful. Very homey feeling to it.

Is a bit of an older property but well maintained. Gym is small, but have enough equipment for a proper workout. Need to be careful with the reusable bottles, one of mine had a chip in the neck of the bottle. I do appreciate the green initiative.

Staying here in the holiday season you're guaranteed a very Christmasy experience, from the decked out trees at the entrance and the reception to the green and red light bulbs of the chandeliers. The hotel is decorated like a Parisian boudoir with half of the lights dimmed to a flicker. The room on the executive floor is well appointed and access to the lounge is a plus. The hotel is next to a shopping mall and close to the metro. The breakfast is well stocked with Asian food.

The lighting or rather lack of it. I think this point has been made by other reviewers so it was hardly a surprise but it really is VERY dark. Even if you turn on all the lights in your room, it is still surprisingly quite "atmospheric". If you prefer well lit and bright, this hotel is not for you. But if you're up for some mood lighting, you'll love it. Note: even the breakfast room is dark! :)

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great, right across the street from Taipei Station, which is a major transit hub. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the hotel was decorated nicely.

The lighting controls were not intuitive. A crazy as it sounds, it took us 30 minutes to figure out how to turn off all the lights (hint, use the touchscreen on the desk to "turn off all lights") as the buttons did not work as expected. When pressing the button to turn off the night reading light, half the time other lights would randomly turn on. Also, it's a huge step to get into the bathtub, which has a slippery floor.

Very close to Taipei Main Station and just next to QSquare Mall for convenience . The toilets at level 6 were amazing and the sparkling water was a bonus treat .

Breakfast offers were quite limited by international hotel standards but there was generous offers on traditional local food .

The lighting of the room at the mirror was not helping with make up. It will cast shadow and it a bit dark to look at the quality of the make up.
