The interior design style is dark castle style. The control of indoor lighting requires a little learning time.

No bar! restaurant fully booked presumably by outside customers. Limited facilities for such a star rating.

If you like the semi-dark environment of classical castle decoration, with quality interior configuration, it is a good choice. We chose this hotel mainly because of the location, price, and two large beds in the family room, which can accommodate two adults and three young children.

The control of indoor light is too advanced to be easily adjusted.

The lighting throughout the hotel was very poor, dim needs to be elevated. There were no instructions in English on how to use the lighting system The hotel is a bit tired maybe a refresh is needed But would stay there again

I like the spread of the breakfast. Would be great if you could add the menu that can be ordered from scanning the QR code. Overall, everything was good, especially we got the gift from the concierge, Ken. He gave us a little key chain with a note. I am impressed by how he remember us. Thank you for the sweet little thing that this hotel gave to us. We would definitely stay at this hotel next time.

What a stunning hotel. This is easily my favourite hotel of all time. It delivers on aesthetic and atmosphere. Yes, it is dark. Yes, it is dimly lit. That's the point. It's meant to represent the gloomy atmosphere and elegance of a European castle. It's even more impressive when decorated for Xmas. It's clean, comfortable and intimate. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and guests are quiet and respectful. It's conveniently located to Taipei Main Station, and Q Square. We really enjoyed Palais de Chine and found it incredibly worth it.

Lighting… hotel was too dark! They could do with brighter lighting. Also, room layout was strange… shower/tub is right at the room entrance with only a curtain… to us, this layout seemed strange!

We spent six nights at the hotel. We were in Taiwan as tourists. The hotel's location is good: there are several interesting neighborhoods within walking distance, the MRT is very close and there are several malls nearby. The airport express train station is theoretically under the hotel, but in practice it takes 25 minutes to get there and can be difficult to find. The staff is five-star, especially the ground floor staff but also the front desk staff. We stayed at an executive suite which should be called an executive junior suite. The bathroom was nice with a bathtub and a shower. The bed was comfortable. The executive lounge had a reasonable choice of snacks and drinks. Breakfast had an excellent choice with both Chinese and Western options.

The pseudo European Middle Age castle theme is quirky. The light switches in the room were quite complicated. The toilet flush was not very efficient.

Our room was really dark plus the lighting system is poor and hard to control. The room felt humid from the open bathroom concept and smells musky.

"Guest can enjoy free access to a swimming pool just steps away from the hotel." This is not true - was expecting enjoy the pool but it is not available when you ask. Disappointing when it is advertised and you pay for the hotel to enjoy it.

Excellent location with larger rooms than most hotels. One of the best breakfasts I have tried definitely worth it .

The light arrangement in the room is very confusing. The switches should be arranged in a clear way so that the desired light should be achieved. Also the lights are not bright enough.

Service was top notch. Especially the concierge team. And our dinner at the hotel’s 3 Michelin star restaurant was truly memorably.

The location could not have been better, absolutely brilliant! The hotel was old worldly, the staff were very helpful especially when e we had a night light that wouldn’t go off, they were there in minutes to turn off the Ai . Gave us a coffee machine to use so super helpful!

The air conditioners were noisy , to be fair I’m a sensitive to noise person, so I kept turning it off and on all night, Taipei was 35 hot in Sept

Service is on top, from check in until check out you will be in the good hands of the staff. They are always here no matter what time and always happy to lend you a hand. They can provide so many services aside from the hotel also. The room was very comfortable and the decoration is one of the best I've seen, so unique for a hotel.

Despite requests made a month prior to our arrival, and confirmed in writing, we had to repeat everything upon check-in, resulting in unnecessary delays. The room itself was poorly equipped: only one bedside table and a single towel hanger. The lighting system is overly complicated and frustrating to use. The so-called ‘AI speaker’ emits random loud noises and unsolicited messages. Additionally, housekeeping entered the room despite being explicitly asked to wait, TWICE. Breakfast is great but the environment is too dark. Finally, access to the train station with a stroller was quite inconvenient.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The room was massive, very modern and clean

Design of toilet and shower area, shower door opens out, hence you can’t really put a mat in front of it to dry your feet when you’re walking out of a shower. Toilet lacks of privacy, if you’re staying in as a couple. I had to use the toilet on 6 floor lobby multiple times

-Great location. Close from the airport MRT. You can go through an underground shopping street and don't need to walk outside. -Nice and friendly staffs and cleaning ladies. -Very environmentally conscious. There was a water dispenser in each floor, and room has 2 glass bottles that you can fill the water. Carbonated water was available from the dispenser too. We didn't really need to buy plastic bottle water. No disposal amenities.

-Floor didn't look clean even they do cleaning everyday. -I stayed at Superior Twin. Only one thing we were not satisfied was about bathroom, that both bath tub and toilet didn't have enough privacy. Bath tub was located right next to the entrance door, there was no "bathroom". Bath tub is not located in the bathroom, there was no door that separates bath tub and the room and there was only curtain. Toilet only has glass door that top part is completely open, and the wall between the toilet and the room was slide mirror that you can show the toilet to the bedroom. There was no big deal with privacy as I stayed with my family, but even with family it was bit awkward that you need to take off your clothes right in front of them.

This is one of the top hotels to stay in. Large, fancy rooms and in one of the best locations.

Our expectations were surpassed. We booked a superior deluxe room and were upgraded to an executive suite. I love the 1920s-inspired interior decor. The hotel epitomises the essence of a 5-star hotel, delivering outstanding service and showcasing impressive management expertise. Locations: Conveniently accessible to all major and local transport. It is also within walking distance to some major attractions, and the night market. Room: spacious, large comfortable bed and pillow. Separate toilet, showers and bath. It has all the comforts you need. Restaurants: Be spoiled for choice. Every bite is amazing.

The breakfast was one of the best. The location was also excellent. However, the room was tiny and the lighting was too dim. We booked three standard rooms with two single beds each. Although the size was good enough, it wasn't easy to open two suitcases on the floor at the same time.

We disliked that the shower was built within the bathtub, especially when the bathtub was higher than our knees. It exposes the potential fall hazard when exiting the bathtub after a shower. One more piece of feedback I'd like to share: the mattresses were worn. The management should consider replacing them.

Great hotel in a very central location, next door to central station. If you are flying in no need for taxis, just get the metro and it drops you outside the hotel front door. Room was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast. Slightly disappointed the hotel did not have a bar to have a drink after a hot day sightseeing. Overall superb though.

Location, and view from our balcony room was nice to be able to step outside.

The pool is separate to the hotel, (5min walk) at a sports/gym place, with a lot of locals using it. Wasn’t really the type of pool that belonged to this style of hotel, as you couldn’t sit & laze like a resort, more for laps.

Everything about Palais de Chine was perfect. Very friendly and warm staffs, smooth check-in and check-out, breakfast was tasty and has lots of choices and location is right across the Taipei Main Station. Executive room was top tier as well, very clean, spacious, great housekeeping and has everything we need. They also gave us complimentary whole cake for my birthday which was a cherry on top.

The design of the hotel is everything very dark. We know a lot of people like it. We are retired seniors can’t see too well, this hotel is not as good a fit for us. But our daughter’s family had no issue with the dark design.

For a 5 star hotel, i was not overly impressed. Location was fantastic and it was easy to get to, easy access to public transport but no taxis or car drop off in front of the hotel. The view from our room was good and toilet was clean with a bidet. The decor of the hotel looks good with a dark theme.

The toilet and room was smaller then I expected and the room was slightly dusty due to carpet floors. Beds were very soft which i personally did not like and required firmer pillows, staff were very helpful with providing firm pillows. Rooms were dark and didn't have great lighting, but that's more of the theme.

Palais De Chine located next to Square Mall. Excellent and centrally located to Main Station, shops, dining and night markets.

Bathroom / shower area and lighting, could have been better designed.
