Hotel Eclat, Taipei

The hotel has a fair price point and a decent location. It’s close to local attractions, but not quite walkable, so expect to take a taxi. While the value is okay, the 'ghostly' atmosphere and slow elevators made for a frustrating experience.

The hotel's interior design feels overly dim and lacks warmth, leaning more toward 'eerie' than 'atmospheric.' Functional issues added to the frustration: the elevators are slow and unresponsive, and the heavy room doors are surprisingly difficult to operate. Dining was equally disappointing, with a monotonous and overpriced breakfast. Service at the front desk was inconsistent, ranging from lukewarm to outright cold.

An intimate boutique hotel with lovely staff and an eclectic collection of contemporary art. Didn't hear a peep from the traffic outside or inside - a perfect escape from thd busy urban environment.

Great location, great beds, and wonderful breakfast. We will definitely be back.!!!

Location was walkable to a lot of places

Hotel was really old, light switch and aircon switch were not working properly. We couldn’t switch off the lights in the room. Phone was not working as well, aircon keep having a clicking sound and we couldn’t rest properly.

Could have been more European friendly alternatives for breakfast even though one could order eggs any style so there was at least something

The staff were excellent and hugely helpful. The room and the wider property were clean and well maintained, the location is excellent for exploring Hanoi.

Our bathroom needed a bit of a revisit. It looked a little tired compared with other rooms we saw, and when we showered, the water went everywhere. We were only there for one night but if it had been for longer I would have requested a change.

Most horrible experience at check in. I had made a booking mistake by one day, which was my fault and arrived a day late (booking for 2 nights). Ladies at check in simply told me my booking was cancelled. I was treated incredibly poorly in this situation, one of the ladies was rude and disrespectful. I have never experienced this in Taiwan before.

Hello, hotel is situated in a nice area and MRT is nearby. On the first night, it was rainy outside and the water comes thru the ceiling into my room (and not just a few drops). Overall the hotel doesn’t appear to be like 5 star hotel, maybe a few years ago. Level of maintenance must be increased. The breakfast is far away of being 5 star 😂. Next time, I will take another hotel.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was decent size - not sure a view of the building across the street qualifies as city view.

The staff was not helpful at all. I asked for a number of things and at one point felt like o was being told off. The hotel is definitely not the usual SLH caliber. Also, the lobby and hallways smell like a Chinese restaurant.

Very comfy and elegant rooms with premium equipment. The arrangement is great so there is lots of space. Even thought it's not directly at any MRT station the location is still very central and you can get to anywhere in Taipei quickly. And with the right room you even get a view on 101.

The room needed some work. Towel hook fell off. Shower dripped. Weird outdated sound system with incoherent instructions. We asked for room cleaning one day and didn’t receive.

The bathroom shower faucet is old and water not strong. Limited space to put personal things, the room renovation is too old style.

Hotel hall way with dehumidifier and dark. Bathroom bit old style. And front door staff to be more initiative in helping door opening and concierge services.

Good service, clean and comfortable room and access to public transport mrt.

Wish there is gym facilities.

I liked the location which was between two Metro stations within walking distance. Also there are many restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area as well. The room toilet is a Toto washlet!!!

Not much. The art collection in the lobby is a bit dubious but I can ignore it.

Location, services and people is great!

The location was great and the breakfast was good! The staff were super friendly and gave me lots of suggestions. If I go back to Taipei I will definitely stay in Eclat again.

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, headed somewhere else, then returned for another 2 nights. I stayed in room 807 in the first leg and 607 in the second leg. 807 had instructions in Chinese but seemed like a newer room, e.g. the toilet seat was heated, the table lamp was functioning. Room 607 had instructions in English but was more run down. The toilet seat was not heated, it flushes on its own, the lights flickered and the table lamp was “limp” and I couldn’t adjust it to light my face properly. The Aircon’s temperature was impossible to be adjusted for both rooms and I would have liked to have a more heated room.

The fancy light switches took me a while to figure out late in the evening. By morning I was able to figure it out.

Great location. Intimate boutique hotel with unique ambience. Over the top artwork, which I thought was unique and entertaining.

Some parts of the room were old, like dirt stains or moulds in the shower ceiling. I also saw one very very small cockroach in the bathroom. Also the wiring of the screen in the bathroom was repaired with gummy paste and not a proper repair. Room 507.

Location is good.

Everything is outdated and lack of staff and service. Definitely not a 5-star/luxury level but with a luxury price tag.

The service were excellent, personalized service make you feel homey, good location, cleanliness. Very quick response and good coordination amongst the staffs.

There is no warmth from the hotel staff.

The hotel locates in a convenient corner of Taipei City, and there are many good restaurants around and not too far from the MRT station. A very artistic hotel that posts many statues in public areas, and the room decorations are cool also.

The hotel offers typical STAR hotel breakfast dishes.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable and location was convenient. The breakfast served was everything we needed, nothing fancy though if that's what you're looking for.

Some of the artwork in the lobby could maybe be a little bit inappropriate. But also adds to the appeal.
