COMFORTABLE AND CONVENIENT! :)
When my partner and I first arrived, our bags were taken straight away to our room and we were greeted straight away. Our check in process was smooth and when we arrived to our room, the hotel staff were kind enough to organise a 'happy birthday' sign on our window for my partner. Later on we were surprised again with a slice of cake for my partner and I to share. Our stay was so comfortable, location was great as we were close to everything, view was amazing and the staff checked in on us during our stay. We also got our room serviced which was nice. Check out was smooth as well, really happy with our stay :)

This hotel has a great location. Just in front of the opera and the bridge. You have the metro (tube) a close distance, so from the airports you can use it. We selected the room with club lounge access and was a great option, you will have great breakfast, tea time and in the afternoon a snack (canapé)time.

There were a few patrons I feel could have handled themselves better and maybe the reception area could be better managed - there were 3 lines 3 receptionists I was waiting in line 3 and twice a person from line 1 raced in ahead of me to go to the first receptionist free because they had been waiting longer - 3 lines you pick a line you wait you don't barge in front of others and speak rudely to them about you being next - there should be only one line feeding the 3 receptionist if this was the case. The receptionist should be trained in this way as well instead of just accepting bad behavior.

Accommodation great but Altitude restaurant not so great.
Accommodation was very nice, great views and clean.
Altitude restaurant was very overpriced, dark, food was not great and service was not really fine dining. The view was great however.

Heaven on Earth
The Shangri-La does not disappoint!! The room was exceptional, we were treated to a birthday treat & early entry. The breakfast club room was magnificent with the best view of Sydney harbour anywhere. Food was delicious, the staff were helpful and friendly and interested in the guests.

Very good hotel, love it.
This was not my first stay at this hotel, and I will happily return again. I really like the rooms here—the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is well-designed for a relaxing experience. A special thanks to the staff for upgrading me to a larger room. I also appreciated that they provided me with a heater since the air conditioning didn’t have a heating function. I was feeling unwell due to a cold, and I was grateful for the staff’s understanding and assistance. The location is also excellent—just a five-minute walk to the city’s center, which makes it very convenient and familiar.
Upon arrival, I had an unpleasant experience with a man who introduced himself as the manager of the rooftop bar. First of all, I consider it a huge loss for the hotel that breakfasts are no longer served on the rooftop. This is a missed opportunity since the bar remains unused during the morning hours. Guests should still have the option to enjoy breakfast there for an additional charge. This was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel again. When I arrived, I was feeling unwell and simply wanted to sit for half an hour, have a cup of tea, enjoy the beautiful view, and ease into my trip. However, despite the fact that most tables were empty, this man refused to let me sit down, claiming that a special afternoon tea required a reservation. I couldn’t understand the issue—there was an available table and a guest willing to pay for it. I didn’t care how much the tea cost; I wanted to experience that view at that moment. Despite trying to talk to him three times, I was met with robotic responses and an arrogant attitude. This left a bad first impression—not just of the rooftop service but of the hotel as a whole. Another disappointment was the room view. Yes, I appreciated the upgrade to a larger corner room, as I mentioned in the positives. However, when a guest books a Sydney Opera House view, the expectation is that the view is worth it. In my case, the Opera House was barely visible—I had to make an effort and lean to see it. Technically, I understand that this still qualifies as a view, but from a guest’s perspective, it doesn’t feel quite right. A partial view like this should be categorized differently to set the right expectations. The breakfast experience was another downside. The selection was extremely repetitive, the staff seemed confused, the food was underwhelming, and overall, it did not meet the level expected from a hotel of this standard.

Fabulous
We were staying for my wife's birthday and on check-in our room was upgraded and my wife received a small cake and a sparkling bottle of white wine at no cost to mark the occasion. We appreciated the gestures and the hotel going the "extra mile" without directly requesting special service. All the facilities were excellent and our five course degustation was excellent and our waiter was also very helpful and looked after us more than was expected.
Better organisation of the queue at the premium check-out time around 11.00 am.
