“History buffs and those in search of views and solitude will appreciate Q Station’s smartly refurbished rooms and historic cottages located inside a nook of the Sydney Harbour National Park in Manly. The grounds are dotted with historic buildings where guests can pass the time as quarantined migrants once did, playing billiards, table tennis or savoring the views of Sydney Harbour over cups of tea.”

Best Place to Stay in Manly

I love the location - so quiet and peaceful. Plus parking - a rarity in this area! The views are gorgeous, there is a lot to see here, private beach and free shuttle to Manly.

TV was set at a low sound level, no doubt so you don't fisturb thr neighbours, but we couldn't hear it. Maybe supply headphones? Also not a smart TV so you couldn't login to eg Netflix. Not the end of the world as the views were very special.

Great location, average service from the kitchen.

Wonderful location. NIce, comfortable rooms with fans.

No air conditioning in the room, only fan. Acceptable, but not great. The breakfast did not have variety, very basic AT 9:30, there was no more sausages, only bacon. When asked about the sausages, there was no "sorry", just " no more sausages".

Great stay…short getaway.

Room was clean, breakfast was great and staff helpful.

Aircon would have been great. The outdoor areas of the cabins were quite dirty…cobwebs and dust.

Very good

A beautiful spot to visit interesting history to learn more of, staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast provided a good variety of choices & excellent coffee! Shuttle buses transport was excellent.

Separate bathroom facilities. Hadn't realised shower was above a bath either and with limited mobility that was difficult to access. No light in the lounge area..

Gorgeous - we will be staying again!

Self-evidently, the location is amazing. Manly's North Head and the surrounding national park bushland and harbour views are exceptional. The Q Station complex is fascinating and has great heritage value. It's a glorious, gorgeous place to spend time.

Perhaps to be expected in the heritage buildings - but strictly from a comfort perspective there are 2 things to be aware of if these are important to you: - No air conditioning (at least in our Harbourside Heritage Room) and the ceiling fan was rather underpowered. In the end of a Sydney summer, this made for a very hot and stuffy stay, even with the doors thrown open. It's something to be expected if you are considering staying in the warmer months. We would certainly have liked to have a more robust ceiling fan, if nothing else - General musty smell inside the room. Again, perhaps to be expected given we're talking heritage buildings. In no way did it ruin our stay, but it does take the overall experience down a notch or so

Unique accommodation, exceptional harborside location

Fabulous water views over the harbor, private, quiet, and situated within an environmental and wildlife sanctuary reserve, while preserving an historic building precinct for quarantine services which is a unique experience within itself. Loved the small, quiet beach and enjoyed sitting under the shade of a huge pine tree in the timber deck chairs.

While the ocean breezes cooled us down on the wide verandah surrounding the unit, inside there is no air-conditioning and the fans are not very effective. Portable air-condition units in the height of summer would make it much more comfortable, or screens on the doors so you can leave them open at night. Otherwise, stay in winter, as there are heating units in the rooms. Options for meals onsite minimal during the week, very small fridge in unit and no kitchen facilities in the room or elsewhere onsite. Paid $19 for a toasted sandwich at the cafe on the wharf. The guest lounge, while a lovely room, had a musty smell, so not very inviting to spend time in.

Very good

The rooms were comfortable and the location was fabulous.

We arrived at the hotel at the same time as people arriving for the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. We had to wait for several minibuses as they were "priority"... Even though they said we could check in early. I wouldn't have minded waiting but didn't want to feel like we were low priority 🤣 .

Lovely stay

Beautiful location, big room. Loved the food at the bar/restaurant!

The mattress on the sofa bed was unusable - basically just springs with a cover - so we had to use the couch instead. All mattresses should be checked for wear and tear.

A great venue in a world class location with facilities and support for a unique stay in Sydney

Location, amenities and friendly staff all made for an enjoyable stay.

Hard to locate lights in rooms at first. While accommodation was comfortable, the lounge was quite hard and uncomfortable and no other seating (apart from outside) was available in the room.

We were so close to the Breakfast Restaurant, and the views from the verandah were awesome.

We loved the Breakfast Restaurant, and we enjoyed the Boiler House Restaurant for dinner one night.

The staff were very cheerful and helpful. Just a slightly clearer explanation of the limited number of Shuttles that go to Manly would have been helpful.

Love the Q station, perfect location for views, beach, food, history and beach

The Q Station is our favourite place, love the location, the history, the food and the beach almost feels like our private little beach. Honestly, you don't have to leave as it has everything we need. It is so relaxing and love being nestled in the national park and seeing the water from our room. It's no wonder the people who arrived by ship were quarantined there did not want to leave!

My only detractor would be attention to cleaning. Our room was perfectly clean, but when we arrived there was a dirty bowl of cereal and cutlery on the table outside our room, which remained there during our stay. We did move it to end of the deck, but there it stayed. Just giving feedback to improve the experience for other guests.

Lovely short break surrounded by beautiful nature and views. Fascinating history of the site.

Magnificent view, loved being able to site on our verandah and take in the view and the breeze. We really enjoyed wandering over the property and absorbing the fascinating history of QStation.

Toilet had a smell. We appreciate the plumbing is probably very old..

A very interesting and quiet location

A very quirky and interesting place to visit and stay. Nice and peaceful with a lovely beach and places to walk but still connected to Manly. Accommodation we had was spacious and comfortable

Not sure how warm it would be in the winter. There is a free shuttle into Manly a couple of times a day and a 161 bus but without those connections very limited for eating options

Pleasant

Our first accomodation was very basic - nothing like advertised - the toilet was broken - but you did good and moved us into a lovely bungalow which was great

There was a lack of mirrors - each bedroom lacked mirrors. Shuttle into Manly was very sparse and only after 10am and stopped 8.30pm - not god as last bus from wharf was 7.45pm so ended up using Uber most of the time. If you missed shuttle you had to wait an hour for another one - shuttle around Q Station was a godsend though.

Great weekend away …relaxing , great views & worth the visit

Great location close to Manly 30min walk or 5min shuttle bus. Nice clean beach, lovely restaurant & cafe with extensive choice of meals . Ghost & History tour very enjoyable & informative. Great view of Harbour from our balcony.

No deck chairs or umbrellas to use at beach or to hire. Beds in room average & sheets very hot . Recommend a few drinks or snacks in room to purchase. Cost of in house movies very expensive

A wonderful stay! We thoroughly enjoyed it! Only wish we had more time to check out the museum

Breakfast was excellent and location was lovely.

We walked quite a long way to our room on a hot day with our luggage. We were not aware we could get a shuttle. Ceiling light was flickering at night and there was a spider in the bathroom.

Very good

Great views of Sydney Harbour and we loved the private beach, the History tour and the wildlife living in the national park

The shuttle to Manly doesn't take young children so we had to go on public transport which were not very reliable and so we had to pay for a taxi. Also no tv in the main bedroom.

Close to city yet a world away!

Beautiful national park setting with access to pristine beach with café close to hand. We had a heritage suite and it was amazing to have space to really unwind. I would describe the room as having an upmarket school camp vibe which surprisingly added to the charm of the stay! The coastal breeze made up for no air conditioning and we did not suffer at all even though one day was in the 40's. Loved the sense of isolation yet only a short bus drive away from Manly. The cleaning staff were amazing, crisp sheets, wonderful towels. We easily could have stayed longer than 9 nights.

The best advice is to walk instead of overly relying on the shuttle. At one point we waited over half an hour (had luggage) and missed the bus to Manly. Thank goodness for Uber. It made me anxious the way the hotel does not lock away stored luggage, just leaves it out in the lobby with the reception often unmanned. The reception staff are lovely but probably on holiday jobs, the ones we spoke to had no real idea of local walks or even how the bus service worked.

Q Station is Amazing 😍😍

Location was amazing. Facilities and staff were excellent. The serenity was just what we needed to relax and enjoy our holiday. No cars onsite was quirky at the start but it truly added to the experience due to the amazing staff. Access to a private beach located on Sydney Harbour was fantastic.

It would be very hot and humid during some parts of the Australian summer as our room did not have air conditioning. We also didn't face the prevailing winds to take advantage of that but each of these were minor issues.

It’s a beautiful place and very unique

The beach and restaurant/cafe right on the beach was pretty special. My daughter enjoyed the wildlife and beach immensely.

The phone did not work nor did the hair dryer. Minor squibbles except that you can only get around bi shuttle
