The Arctic Club Hotel, Seattle
Expert reviews
“This meticulously kept hotel just steps from historic Pioneer Square exudes charm and character. The handsome nine-story Beaux-Arts building, famous for the terracotta walrus heads that line its third floor, was originally commissioned in 1916 as an HQ for The Arctic Club.”
Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Seattle.
“Back in 1917 rooms were roomy and forthright, with beamed ceilings, wood baseboards and crown moldings, and beds were big and solid and covered with woolen blankets. That’s how it is today, too, only with updated amenities of all kinds and furniture that evokes the Art Deco era when the club was in its heyday.”

Fun historic hotel, well priced, nice staff!
Very cool historic hotel with lots of fun details and friendly staff. Free breakfast was a nice bonus! Spacious, comfortable rooms.
It's not the hotel's fault, but there are lots of homeless people on the street, and lots of late night sirens from the police station a block away. Also kind of a bummer to view the trash filled vacant lot across the street.

Overall, minus breakfast, I loved my stay and would go back again.
Loved the feel of the hotel, it was so charming and the rooms were a lot bigger than I expected! Staff was friendly and kind. Loved the bar area with the pool table.
The only thing that was a real disappointment was the breakfast. Honestly... it was depressing. It didn't match the feel of the rest of the hotel at all. The food was average but the ambiance... was terrible. I wish it was located somewhere else. It needs a remodel for sure.

Amazing stay!
The staff at this hotel were truly exceptional. Not only is the hotel itself unique and beautiful, with a captivating historic charm, but the level of customer service surpassed any experience I've had at other hotels. The staff went above and beyond to assist me, providing valuable information about popular dining spots, entertainment options, and more. Additionally, the valet parking service was simple and convenient, adding to the overall seamless experience. I would gladly choose to stay here again in the future.

Historic hotel with friendly staff
It's a charming historic hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is actually delicious, which is rare. The front desk also accommodated an especially late checkout for me, which was extremely helpful.
The location is convenient for the train station, but too far for the convention center. At night, the surrounding area also feels a bit dangerous and I was hesitant to walk alone. Also, the American practice of hiding all sorts of hidden fees and taxes is infuriating. Each night as this hotel will be at least 30% more expensive than advertised, which feels deceptive. Booking.com should include all the relevant costs upfront!

Very cool boutique hotel
The room was designed to period, reflecting it's original occupants...a bunch of wealthy gold rush barons. The breakfast we hot and quite good.
It is right across the street from a homeless shelter which does impact the feel of the surroundings when you walk out on the street.

After many stays we still enjoy the Arctic Club. The historic building is beautiful, rooms are comfortable, and the staf
Convenient location to the light rail and bus system. Nice lobby, comfortable rooms and pleasant staff.
I wish breakfast would start a bit earlier in the morning. Afternoon coffee and tea in the lobby would also be appreciated.

Very good
The Hotel was beautiful. The staff were nice and professional.
The one issue I have was the room. It was really cold. It had no heating system. That would've come in handy given the fact that it was a cold weekend.

Loved the history of the place
Beautiful historic building that has been restored to maintain the history while adding comfort and style. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Staff were wonderful. Buffet breakfast exceeded expectations. Easy walking distance to Pike Place Market, waterfront and light rail.
Neighborhood is undergoing some difficult times and proximity to major hospital makes traffic noise a factor depending on room location.

Finally a proper hotel
Unique, cozy, very well designed. Staff was super friendly, bar was very good. Loved the room, coffee was good.
Breakfast, while well made for a buffet style, was still a bit generic, but this was mostly compared to the rest of the say!.

I LOVED MY STAY
I really loved the customer service at Artic Hotel. The staff was just amazing! The vibes in the downstairs bar area are immaculate, and very tasty drinks. It was so nice to curl up by the fire and sip our cocktails. The beds were SO comfortable, I love hotels sheets and comforters. We had a balcony from our room that we could step out to and look around at the city scapes. Valet is also so kind! They went the extra mile for us every time. We will visit again!
The breakfast was okay. The had a decent buffet selection: Scrambled eggs, Potatoes, Sausage links, Bagels, Toast, Yogurt, a small bowl of fruit. Some pancakes or waffles would've been awesome, a lot of people look forward to that at hotels. Coming from someone that works in the industry, The kitchen staff seemed a little frazzled and not in great moods, running out of things and not having backups prepped - not the vibe you get one floor up at the bar! I think they probably need some additional support so customer service is not lacking because employees may be overloaded.

Beautifully restored hotel. Quiet and comfortable
The breakfast was very nice. The rooms were comfortable and quiet.
It was unfortunate to see the mass grouping of homeless people on 3rd st. Tents, filth and campfires. Made me a little uncomfortable seeing that immediately across the st.

Very good
Location. Nice gym. Good size rooms. Large bathroom.
Extra fees are ridiculous and add up some 30% to the cost. The fees are for amenitities that should normaly be included in the room rate e.g. gym, breakfast , as it was explained to me. Food selection for breakfast is basic - scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausages. Yogurts. Pastry was very good though. But plenty of space for breakfast and all clean.

Exceptional hotel vintage and nostalgic
If you like a vintage and nostalgic hotel that is very well maintained this is the place. The staff is professional and provides excellent service. The location is in the heart of downtown Seattle close to the financial district, Capitol, Hill and the harbor. My wife and I enjoyed this hotel very much especially the food and spirits at the Polar Bear Lounge.

Breakfast was good. Location was near cruise terminal which was biggest factor for booking here. Is an amazing restoration of an older building. Was very well done. Staff were excellent, very friendly and outgoing .
