The Arctic Club Hotel, Seattle
Expert reviews
“This meticulously kept hotel just steps from historic Pioneer Square exudes charm and character. The handsome nine-story Beaux-Arts building, famous for the terracotta walrus heads that line its third floor, was originally commissioned in 1916 as an HQ for The Arctic Club.”
Featured as Fodor’s Choice in Seattle.
“Back in 1917 rooms were roomy and forthright, with beamed ceilings, wood baseboards and crown moldings, and beds were big and solid and covered with woolen blankets. That’s how it is today, too, only with updated amenities of all kinds and furniture that evokes the Art Deco era when the club was in its heyday.”
Featured as Frommer’s Exceptional Choice in Seattle.

Lavish. Worth the money. Elegant, sophisticated and classic feel; yet, just enough modern amenities to escape antiquity.

It was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very cordial.
Convenient for the concert at Lumen field.
Was on the high price side but considering it was a concert night in Seattle I guess that’s to be expected.

Comfortable room with helpful staff.
I liked the room which was big and quiet with a comfy bed and good coffee maker. The shared lounge areas etc also had old worldly charm. Helpful staff.
The bathroom lighting was unusual and controlled some of the bedroom lighting. I couldn't find a fridge which I needed for milk that I'd bought.

Clean hotel. Lovely staff. Convenient for our purpose which was to take in some baseball games. Beautiful mix of old and
The hotel was very central to all attractions and T-Mobile field and easily accessible by light rail from the airport
There is a large homeless population in Pioneer Square with encampments kitty-corner to the hotel. The area smells of urine but the homeless people did not bother us

Very comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
The bed was very comfortable
The breakfast buffet was very disappointing. The pork patties were very cold on both days. It was a busy weekend and the staff were trying their best; however, one staff member was very grumpy on both days when asked for small things. The chef and all the other staff were very friendly. This is a very small complaint and in the big scheme of things no big deal.

Hotel is beautiful and the room was so big and the bed was comfortable, bathroom was beautiful!
Happy hour was not good 2 beers cost $28.00 with a tip which we shouldn’t have paid as the bartender was very unfriendly. He definitely had his “Favorite” regulars!

We stayed there to see Billy Joel, great service.
It had old world dark charm.

This is lovely, comfortable hotel with friendly and accommodating staff.
Historic building with early 20thC explorer vibe. Beautiful lobby and bar with dark wood and fireplace makes you want to settle in and read the latest news about polar explorations and gold discoveries. Wonderful breakfasts.
Neighborhood is not exactly vibrant. There are a significant number of people living on the streets in downtown Seattle, including near the hotel. But this is all over downtown Seattle.

Our room was adequate, the food was good, getting in and out was not so good.
While thisis a historic property, with excellent preservation and care to the rooms, it disappointed in the lack of a bell hop to help with the luggage. it is also not a suitable hotel for disable travelers. The main entrance is not useable for handicapped people having narrow and multiple steps exceeding well over 50 of them. More importantly, the street that is accessible handicapped guest can not be used by tis or private vehicles because it is restricted to city buses.
better access for ingress and egress of handicap guests.

Cool hotel! Loves it.
Everything! Absolutely loved this hotel. Cool vibe. Music in the bar/restaurant was perfect for us (mix of classic tracks). All the staff were attentive and happy to help. Bryan, in particular, was SO friendly and helpful to us and knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and makes the BEST cocktails!!!
