Great location excellent facilities

Breakfast room chairs looked cheap and made the area look shabby . Doors going into the rooms looked shabby but pleased when we entered the room. Felt the door gave a poor impression which was a shame.

The beds were super comfortable and the room although small, was very comfortable

The check în experience took forever.

We had room service that was phenomenal. Food came just in time and the food was delicious. Also being in the pool my kids enjoyed watching a movie.

The daily chargers to my Credit Card for incidentals .I certainly understand the need to take my Credit Card details to cover any potential incidentals but I have never come across daily charges being applied that don't have any real relationship the the actual charges I had,I made an enquiry to the reception counter on day 2 to find out how they work and the response was a blunt-it is just to cover incidentals -I knew that and I am a well travelled person. My very big complaint is that upon checking out I paid balance of my Bill on a different Card and asked for the pending charges to be cleared which I was told would happen .This has not happened after 2 days.Not good enough.

The Reception at the hotel was very good ,The Concierge services were very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was very good and set in a magnificent dining room. The location close to the Modern Art Museum was very good for our limited time. The recommended Hop on Hop off bus tour was excellent.

The room definitely needed more storage facilities. The fixed suitcases under units whilst artistic wasted valuable potential storage.

I love the ambiance you get from the beautifully old building. You feel like you've walked into a time capsule of the 50s.

How hard it was to pull in and find parking. Granted this is not the Hotels fault. The streets are all one ways so be mindful of surroundings.

The hotel Is in a perfect place. The overall mood is Exquisite. The hotel is old and you can feel it. Nice. Comfortable.

The concierge were very helpful in planning out the places I wanted to visit. While the parking was expensive (although it is San Francisco), the car was easily accessible and always available when I needed it. The staff were great!

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I loved the larger room. The shared amenities were very festive. There is also a museum worth a visit and of course, there is the Pied Piper Bar and painting. I'll be back.

Location was excellent. The room was very clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and excellent, very professional. They made us feel welcome. Lunch in the bar was very good. No complaints.

The menu in the Pied Piper bar could have had more choices but a good selection of drinks.

Rooms, beds and linens were wonderful. Location was good and easy to walk to Union square and to restaurants. The breakfast was good in the garden course, drinks were good in the Pied Piper Bar as well. Room service was great as well!

Staff were a bit unorganised and couldn’t work out the booking arrangements we had made. Ended up ok and was a bit all over the place to start with. There were not enough staff at the front desk. We always had to wait for at least 15 minutes to be served. With a line and only 2 staff taking customers checking in or out.

Beautiful atrium, staff friendly and helpful. Lovely bed and pillows Liked the cocktails in the Pied Piper bar. Carpets smelt newly shampooed.

No means of making a hot drink in the room which we were amazed by. The boxes containing toiletries were empty. Scales didn’t work. Lighting poor in room. Inner room so quite dark. Breakfast was very expensive.

Very friendly staff and clean facility.

The per fee was stiff @$150. The morning buffet was underwhelming on quality of food. It was cold and dry on many of the hot dishes. The price of $44 per person was outrageous, it should have been $19 for the quality of food. I expected better for the level of quality expected for staying here at the Palace. It left a bad taste leaving what was an enjoyable stay.

The staff are exceptional, so warm they feel like family. The breakfast was delicious. It's an old hotel (by US standards!) and very American in feel and style so the decor tends towards "worn corporate", but it's comfortable and of course the architecture is spectacular, the location perfect.

Complimentary Coffee only available from 6:30am - too late for those from Japan or Europe with jetlag. More coffee options like Starbuck would be a good idea. e.g. oat milk,.... Latte Macchiato! Room style is really old! USB plugs are standard now in 4 start hotels !!!

Wow the service was beyond anything we’ve experienced in quite a while! These employees must be treated well… from arrival to departure all our needs were tended to and everything was beyond what we expected. We didn’t use the pool bc we were on a girls trip and it looked like kids were taking it over lol. But I will def come back w my kids for a treat in the city. We only live 45 min away lol.

Perfection

I loved how nice the attendance were, and that they were always waiting outside even at night it made me feel comfortable. The beds were nice. The comforter was heavy which was very comfortable.  perfect amount of space for two people. 

The parking situation was a little bit weird, but honestly nothing too crazy still very worth it.

Great location. Friendly and attentive staff. Historic building. The Pied Piper bar was wonderful as was the breakfast in the glittering Garden Court . The concierge was so helpful recommending restaurants. All the major sights were within walking distance.

I must say I didn't have huge expectations, thinking the hotel might be a little tired, while clearly very grand as can be seen from the photos. But the photos can often hide many faults. On the contrary, the hotel felt like it had been freshly decorated, with a very fresh feel to the hotel corridors, and our room and bathroom. They clearly spend money on upkeep, which can't be said for other 'luxury' Marriott group resorts we have stayed in this year. The bathroom products were the best of our California trip, so no wonder they have a sign up to discourage people stealing them. The food and drinks we had in the Pied Piper were equally excellent, and again some of the tastiest of the trip. It's definitely a clubby masculine after work vive in there, but our 10 year old really enjoyed eating in there. It felt equally luxurious and maintained. The main breakfast room is, as you will have seen from the pictures, very grand and historic. But again it maintained high standards and felt modern and fresh. The buffet was very good too. All in all I would not hesitate to stay here again, though sadly SF itself does not entice visitors these days, as is well documented. Perhaps that is why this hotel offered such good value.

I guess another restaurant in the evening other than the Pied Piper would be good...given the Wall St aesthetics, but there are plenty in SF of course. Then whilst it didn't score as bad as many places on our trip, they should have more knowledge (and labels) on what is and is not gluten and dairy free (for example the bread at breakfast we had varying responses on if it contained dairy, so lacked confidence), and moreover offer more DF/GF options...especially decent deserts for kids with a dairy allergy! Surprisingly California was far inferior to the UK on the allergy front.

Staff is amazing all around. Facilities are old, but everything works and nothing seems run down or overused. They take really good care of this property and all of the details.

The breakfast was expensive and tasted like cruise ship food. I am not into that, but the variety was good.

Pricey, but excellent breakfast and the breakfast room itself was breathtaking.
