Hotel The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco

The facilities, lounge restaurant and room wete amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. This was a highlight for me… The Ritz-Carlton New York needs to take a lesson from these guys. My experience there was shocking… but San Francisco RC made up for it.

The doormen, the room, the safety & convenience

Breakfast was great .

The scent or perfume when you walk in the door is absolutely awful . It smells cheap and cloying . I’ve been to excellent hotels that have proprietary scents and they are usually very good . Ett Hemm in Stockholm or Sanders in Copenhagen. The scent at the Ritz made me want to hold my nose walking in and out of the lobby . It’s tacky .

The rooms, amenities and staff at front desk are lovely.

The length of time it took to get housekeeping to bring extra pillows. The terrible service in the lobby bar where we were grabbing a quick meal at 4pm before seeing Sting with the SF Symphony. Nothing came on. Time or in the proper order. The food & beverage manager did not help or make it right, but we were impressed by the assistant Food & Beverage Manager Carlos Gomez who saw what happened and how his boss did not handle things well. He sent a box of chocolates along with a hand written note apologizing for the bad experience. He represented the Ritz Carlton in the way we expect and respect. Kiddos to him. He did a much better job than the food & beverage manager. And the waiter was terrible. I’ve had him before and he’s been ok. We were not in during any Valentine’s rush and the place was empty.

The service was top-notch. The bed was so comfortable that I slept 7-1/2 - 8 hours, and that usually doesn’t happen in a hotel the first night. The breakfast may have been the best I ever had. The room itself was beautiful with lovely white marble bathroom.

The only thing I could offer suggestion about maybe it would be better to store the extra towels away from the toilet. That’s because I heard that every flush can aerosolize waste. Wherever we didn’t need to use any extras this visit.

The bar was great, the small wine tasting experience was great, Diva is very knowledgeable and a great host. The location is great just a few blocks from Market street, and the ferry building and right around the corner from China town. There is even a cable car stop.

The 37 parallel restaurant was only open for breakfast. We would have preferred to eat dinner there instead of the bar.

One of the front desk lady is being overly enthusiastic to a fake extent that makes me feel uncomfortable…It is not her fault that she is trying her best to do her job. I am just not feeling comfortable.

Awesome - one of the best customer service teams. Club level concierge were exceptional and the attention to detail superb.

The Hotel is beautiful, staff are incredible - so helpful & friendly and the location is safe and central.

There is no pool but there is a good gym! No business centre but staff at reception very helpful in terms of printing etc.

Top quality classic five star hotel. Excellent service throughout my stay.

The Ritz is a high standerd hotel. The location is perfect voor a city trip. You can walk to almost every this. Or the hotel bring you with the courtesy car. The Employees are very professional en extremely helpful and friendly. They take the time to help you with almost everything

The Bar is very noisy and closes at 11. I think that's a little early

The location is great! Getting places that are not walkable is easy with Ubers/Lyft. The room was very ample, clean and comfortable. We stayed on the Club Level and had all sorts of extras, including drinks and food throughout the day.

The staff at the Ritz Carlton is excellent -- professional, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. We had breakfast at the Ritz, a late night hamburger in the "bar" area , and ordered room service -- one the best BLTs I have had. Food and service were first-rate. I also used the workout facilities which were spotless and presented many options -- treadmills, bikes, weights

I really can't think of anything so I am giving the Ritz a 10!

The hotel was nothing less than fabulous, the staff where amazing. The bed was amazing and the room upgrade because we where travelling for our honeymoon was stunning with huge living space, the only negative was we only had 2 nights there! We loved San Francisco!

Nothing to dislike with Ritz-Carlton

The hotel itself is very impressive. Once you got to the entrance, there was a valet parking taking care of you and giving atmosphere of a luxurious hotel. The room was clean and big enough to hold 4 people. Breakfast were excellent and the gym was huge.

zero complains on our stay.

We stayed for our honeymoon and were upgraded to a corner king room which was really lovely. The staff were kind, interested and helpful. The room was immaculately clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The location was exactly what we wanted given that the things we wanted to do were predominately in the north and north east of the city. The only downside we could complain about was the price of the food and drinks. A very average bottle of red wine will cost you north of $80 and any time spent in the bar will feel like a violent assault on your bank account. That being said, the service that accompanies those expensive drinks is beyond reproach. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.

The amenities of the room were not always replenished when the room was made up

Great location, and lovely room. And happily, there was a dividing door between the bedroom and living area sofa bed (this is important for us, and for our teenage children but usually difficult to pinpoint in descriptions and photos). Staff attentive, and breakfast was fab. Big shout out to Carmen on the 8th floor - she was excellent.

The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the children only told us after we checked out, but they said it was the worst bed of the whole holiday (we stayed in six different places) - so this was disappointing to hear. I guess that they didn't want to be too negative, because obviously this was an expensive stay.

The location and the architecture are spectacular, room meets expectations for the brand. Bed was extremely comfy, cleanliness also perfect!

We stayed in the junior suite, and really enjoyed the room. So spacious and the carpet was beautiful the smell in the lobby area is wonderful and the beautiful flower arrangements in the entry were absolutely gorgeous! The valet, gentlemen, and the Bellman were all so sweet!
