Everything- breakfast was awesome, location amazing and staff very friendly

We had a classic room that only had a shower over the bath so difficult to get in and out of.

Everything as always! Such a pearl in the heart of Roma! A real classic!

Loved the staff who helped us and made us so welcome after a long trip. Breakfast was perfect and the Locarno bar with the centenary cocktail topped it off. Location perfect.

Nothing! But if I had to put something it would have been nice if the rooftop bar had been open.

Hotel graciously accommodated our request for rooms nearby each other and our kids were in the room right next to us. Beautifully decorated rooms are pristine with comfortable seating and immaculate bed & bedding. Our deluxe room overlooked the main street but was not noisy at all and we slept very well. The kids' classic room was smaller but equally as comfortable & the bathroom had beautiful claw foot tub.

What sets this hotel apart from other hotels of a similar caliber where we've stayed is not only the unique history but the outstanding bar/restaurant and friendly helpful staff. After check in, we had excellent cocktails in the beautiful courtyard along with some delicious snacks. The cocktails came with pretty watercolour bookmarks marking the 100th year of the hotel. As an avid reader -- of books, not devices -- I'm still using mine and stole the ones given to my family as they will not use. Breakfast is fab, made to order and will accommodate requests whenever possible. We normally try to eat all meals except breakfast outside of hotels but the setting & food here is so lovely, we had the most delicious lunch on our last day. It was also wonderful to see the restaurant/bar is well used by Romans and be surrounded by locals not only tourists. The rooftop bar was not open during our stay -- maybe due to the heat? -- so we did have the opportunity to check it out.

Location is great - we could walk to all of the main tourist areas and it is well situated to visit the Vatican. My travel companions (lapsed Catholics & non Catholic) were skeptical, esp as our tour was 8 am to avoid crowds (still crowded but not unbearable and no waiting) but it is truly magnificent/well worth a visit, even the skeptics agreed.

Finally all the staff here are all incredibly friendly and gracious. Service in all areas of the hotel from room turn down to the front desk is excellent. A special thank you to David at the front desk and Riccardo!

Wish the rooftop bar had been open while we were there.

Best customer service experience I've ever had in my life, huge beautiful room, AC and WiFi work perfectly, amazing attentive concierge, great breakfast, delicious martinis. Perfect place to retreat to on a hot summer day in Rome.

The entire experience was exquisite, however they do not have an iron to lend you so you must pay 60 euro to send off 5 items and wait 10 hours to retrieve them.

A bit outdated furniture but we didn’t mind it at all

The Locarno is a unique pearl in Rome. It has the flair of the Dolce Vita times, with that exquisite personal touch that only Italians have. At the same time it’s perfectly functional and efficient with modern technology tucked away from sight.

The garden between the two buildings is the most relaxing and welcoming place for a drink or a dinner, again with bespoke service and top kitchen. But the bar is exceptional, and if you like fizzes do try the ‘Wolf, I solve problems’ it’s absolutely wonderful. I wonder if Harvey Keitel would like it as much as I did.

In the hotel each room is different and every single detail is just perfect. Here you get the experience and service of a top luxury hotel with the personable experience of a boutique hotel, you really feel at home.

The first thing that hits you when you enter the hotel is the kind smiles of all the personnel. Everyone is so genuinely and warmly nice, that you just feel at home from the first moment.

As I left Rome, riding to the airport in the fresh early morning, the time at the Locarno sank in as a warm memory. It made my stay so enjoyable. I’m already thinking of the next time I can be in Rome and stay again at the Locarno.

For those in search of a more social scene, the salons of the Locarno a populated with famous journalists, TV and movie stars, and many familiar faces . Of course nobody bothers them with pictures or asks for authographs, it’s not what you do there.

The overall service is just impressive. Being very picky on details, I have not once noted anything that was below perfect. This is just an astonishing place to experience, and I do hope the owners keep it up forever!

Really hard to find something wrong, and despite my innate search for the off detail, I could not find a single one. Amazing.

My daughter and I have just returned from the most wonderful few days in Rome. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay in and just loved Hotel Locarno. It is like stepping back in time in the best possible way. Incredibly elegant and understated. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was just beautiful, with original antique pieces adorning the room, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with a roll top bath and separate shower. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really made us feel at home. Breakfast in the beautiful courtyard is a highlight. The hotel is also perfectly located with St Peter’s and the Vatican about 15/20 minute walk away, the Spanish Steps only around 10 minutes.
We were so sad to leave and will definitely be back.

The staff took care of our every need and were so helpful and attentive, the check in and check out process was friendly and helpful and the staff even remembered our breakfast requests from the day before. The food and cocktails were delicious and the outside terrace had a lovely atmosphere.

It is very old hotel that need some renovation especially bathrooms and even beds you can maintain the history while doing some renovation keycards instead of keys

Best place to stay in Roma. There are lot of 5 stars and luxury hotels in Roma but Hotel Locarno offers a level of luxury and comfort in combination with an incredibile friendly, kind and truly welcoming team which makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE. The way they all take care of the guests it is not just professionally perfect it is personally special, it is authentic and honest. We have been coming for 10 years and I hope we can come for the next 10!

Everything was absolute perfect - there is nothing I didn't like.

Bar is excellent; they also serve food there which looked very good. We had a junior suite which was nice but expensive and the shower was a bit basic. Staff are lovely and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent

The staff is incredibly friendly. The ladies at the reception are always ready to help and check if you need anything else. Our daughter received special attention, which was heartwarming :) The rooms are beautifully decorated in a traditional style, and the bathroom – I absolutely loved it!

The breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented, and had a great variety of options for both adults and children.
I was also surprised with a birthday greeting, which made me feel even happier.

We had a truly unique experience at this hotel!

Hotel Locarno will now be one of our go-to locations in Rome. Relatively inexpensive for the level of quality, the room was excellent, cocktails were yummy and the staff were superbly friendly. Genuinely we felt welcome from the first minute to the last. Also love how you hand in keys at reception - it means you don't need to worry in your party who has them. Ultimately an amazing stay.

The breakfast selection could have been better, esp with regards to pastries, egg dishes, etc. And the porridge was, well, it wasn't quite up to Scottish levels. Breakfast was a good meal. just not great. A minor gripe.
