Hotel De’ Ricci is an exclusive, wine-centric boutique hotel tucked away in the historic heart of Rome, near the bustling Piazza Navona. Housed within an 18th-century noble palazzo, the property perfectly captures the city’s aristocratic past. It was thoughtfully transformed into a luxury residence by the local Ricci family, who aimed to create a home-away-from-home for wine connoisseurs.
The hotel’s most defining feature is its obsession with oenology. Every one of its eight suites is equipped with a personal wine cellar, and guests are invited to partake in professional wine tastings led by expert sommeliers in the hotel’s private bar. The interior design reflects this refined taste, mixing Art Deco flair with warm, residential touches, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a private clubhouse than a standard hotel.
Being situated on Via della Barchetta, the hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Rome’s layers of history. You are just a short walk from the Campo de’ Fiori, with its vibrant morning market, and the architectural masterpiece of the Pantheon. The narrow, winding streets surrounding the hotel are packed with artisanal shops and hidden trattorias.
Despite its central location, it offers a remarkably quiet escape from the city’s frenetic pace. Whether you are enjoying a vintage bottle in the private courtyard or wandering over to the nearby Tiber River for an evening stroll, Hotel De’ Ricci provides a sophisticated, intimate base for anyone looking to experience the Roman “dolce vita” in style.
Expert reviews
“Old school lushes and anyone who enjoys a tipple will love Hotel De’ Ricci. This is a place that’s all about the wine, with eight seriously smart rooms. You get the feeling you’re somewhere swanky the moment you walk in, all secluded booths, low lighting, and draped curtains.”
“Opened by one of the owners of the iconic restaurant Pierluigi, this intimate eight-room bolthole has a pitch-perfect location away from the tourist hordes, is close to some of the city’s prettiest quiet streets and shops, and is home to one of Rome’s hottest new clubby-cum-speakeasy bars.”

Excellent short stay in the heart of Rome within walking distance to all main attractions
Wonderful small boutique hotel with the absolutely best staff! The entire experience was flawless and they were the most gracious and helpful hosts of any hotel! Would very highly recommend and hope to come back again!

Perfect stay in Rome
Perfect location. Close enough to all the major sites but far enough from the crowds. Lovely area full of great restaurants, cafes and nice boutiques. So easy to get around. The staff was super attentive and booked all my outings even though I was always last minute. Aperitivo at the hotel bar at the end of my day was one of my favorite things, amazing selection of wines and delicious bites, sultry music and impecable decor. They also offer a delicious breakfast. I will come to hotel de Ricci whenever I’m in Rome. Many thanks to all the staff 🙏
I enjoyed everything about my stay.

The staff made this already good hotel GREAT.
Honestly the best service we have had in our life. The staff here were so accomodating and went beyond expectations. Our son was checked into hospital while we were staying there and the staff truly cared for our situation and made us feel that nothing was too hard for them to accomodate.
The room was also beautiful, large, clean and the drop down tv was great also. If I could give them 11/10 I would.
That we couldn’t stay there longer.

I was well satisfied with my stay, but I would hesitate to pay such a high price again.
Location is very good, close to the Pantheon. Staff is exceptionally attentive. My room was huge with a terrific balcony. Breakfast was very good, served either in the room or in the bar. There is no formal dining room and the menu is somewhat limited, which was alright for me. The hotel did not seem very full, usually I was the only guest having breakfast. I can't say enough about the staff's attentiveness and readiness to oblige.
The price was a bit on the high side and may have been even lowered the following week.

Staying the night in Rome
Location was great, bed was comfortable. It was as well a bit strange to ask for tips at checkout but ok.
Anyway, it was not horrible, just not worth the price in our opinion.
