G-Rough Hotel, Rome

This is a terrible hotel , the service is very bad

The receptionist Denise , She was rude , unhelpfull.
We booked a room , paid everything in advance. Arriving late at night, She Saïd no room available . Despite the reservation nr and pincode She puts us on the street at 01.00. No help for another hotel, threatens to call the police for us. ( we are 2 ladies) !

Spacious rooms, very quiet (we slept with the window open!) and I loved the curated vintage furnishings and bar space downstairs. Service was great - someone was always there to welcome us. It’s a super cool hotel and it’s located in an amazing spot to see all of Rome.

Breakfast communication was a little funky. There was a card to select food, coffee, and delivery time to bring the food to the room in the morning - very cool! But then we didn’t receive a second card for the following day. But the little Lavazza machine in the room makes a great coffee!

Location is first rate.

Unbelievably noisy in the morning from the cleaning staff moving furniture starting at 8 or 9 AM. Bed was as hard as a rock and comically uncomfortable. In short - I can’t wait to get home so I can actually get a good night sleep.

Very dark rooms, thin walls and noise, bad breakfast. I wouldn't rate it as Five Stars. Except the manager ,rest of staff was not high standard professionals

The location is really good. The bed and linens are phenomenal! Staff was polite and really on it.

Not much to complain about. The room was large but outdated. You can hear everything in the courtyard from the windows.

We love staying near Piazza Navona, it’s a great neighborhood. The staff was nice. The room was clean. The shower was good.

It doesn’t really feel like a hotel. The lobby is a small corridor behind what looks like a bar area, that no one seems to use. While the front of the building faces a cute square and shopping street, the rooms are actually on the back side of the building. Facing directly into another building, we didn’t have the windows/curtains open. We were in a “junior suite” which just had a little room between the bathroom and bedroom. It was *very* pricey for what it is.

That rustic old style might be uncomfortable specially for the bathroom, towels were the annoying super thin kind.

Honestly nothing… I usually stay in the bigger “grandee” 5 star hotels but this was a refreshing change and everything felt so personal…

The staff. The location. The Airconditioning.

Not good value for money. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. Nowhere to hang toiletry bags in the bathroom. The bedroom was dark. Toilet had to be flushed twice to stop it running. When it rained heavily there was a large pool of water in the bedroom.

The room on the first floor which is directly above the bar is not noise proof. So either have a good drink or night out or bring ear protection. The bathroom could als use a cabinet to put away and store your toiletries.

Absolutely incredible location near Piazza Navona. Staff members were lovely. The bar is gorgeous and was a great place to pop into during the day for breaks between activities or after dinner, and everyone who tended bar were fun, friendly and made great drinks (shout out especially to Melita!). We were upgraded from the suite we had booked to the beautiful one-bedroom apartment (Afra room) with high wood-beam ceilings. Very comfortable bed. Breakfasts were tasty and they graciously accommodated us when we overslept our scheduled breakfast time by a lot.

The room was rather dusty and there were some areas, e.g. under the sink and some of the furniture that clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, which isn't pleasant when you drop something and have to reach for it. The exposed concrete walls, while a beautiful design detail, also leave some dust since they're not sealed and you have to be careful leaning or putting your belongings against them.

The styling of this hotel is the best of Italy. A mix of ancient architecture, retro antiques and modern appliances. The staff are so friendly and provide a lot of welcoming information and service, to get to know Roma like a Roman. The location is fabulous! The breakfast is a healthy Italian affair. With options to dine in the dinning room or have room service. The menu includes many options to cater to all tastes.

Great location in the heart of a bustling street in Rome. Walking distance to all the key tourist and historical sites and fantastic food options.

The hotel is wildly overpriced. The rooms are fitted with old furniture, some falling apart. There is nothing luxury about it and for those prices you expect a highly quality bed and furniture that doesn’t creak with each step taken. There is zero sound proofing so we were kept awake most nights by the couple above us having special time if you know what I mean…

i suppose we expected more of 500 euro per night

The whole experience was fantastic. The hotel and its design were top class, and the room was elegant and spacious. The staff were all lovely and despite it being a very cool hotel, there was no hint of pretentiousness or snobbishness. Would stay there again in a heart beat.
