The property was beautiful with a great view and the location was absolutely amazing.

Breakfast every morning was wonderful. The service and selection was top notch.

Location was a little far from historic district but good exercise. I was disappointed I could not schedule a reservation for a massage. Next time I will book ahead.

Torel is an exceptional, stylish, and modern hotel located in the heart of Porto. The rooms are spacious, well-lit, and incredibly comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully designed. The staff are incredibly helpful and highly professional, ensuring a seamless experience throughout our stay. The on-site restaurant is outstanding, offering signature dishes that are perfectly executed, along with an amazing breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an elevated and unforgettable experience in Porto!

Breakfast was great, excellent customer service and spacious room with a comfortable mattress. I also liked the location which was a bit away from the center but still close enough like 10 mins walk to the central area. It was very quiet at night which was so important to me.

We did get a massage at their nice spa, but for 5 5-star hotel, I feel they could make the experience more luxurious.

The staff were unbelievable!! From the moment we walked in through the entrance, they were so helpful and willing to go out of their way at any given opportunity. The breakfast was lovely and there were enough options for my little one who especially enjoyed the kids meals at the restaurant in the evening. Room service is 10/10 as well. Honestly, this is a must recommend for anyone who wants to stay in Porto. It’s just a few minutes walk from the main part of the city and a great location just to get in and out for whatever you wish. You can get a map of the city from reception and staff have great knowledge of things to do as well as places to see. Ubers are so cheap and cheerful as well (make sure you use Uber or bolt or you’ll get scammed). The rooms are cleaned literally twice daily and the fridges restocked. Honestly, a beautiful place to stay!!

That I couldn’t stay longer

The hotel was lovely, was a small walk from the busy area so nice and quiet. The staff were amazing, they couldn't help enough. Would be nice to stay in the summer with the pool and loungers out but still got the sun and enjoyed a swim.. Would stay again for sure.

Breakfast was super and delicious. The room was good - a bit dark. The staff was super friendly and the bed was really comfortable.

The jacuzzi was empty, and the water jets were spraying outside. I had to share the jacuzzi and the indoor pool with two little boys playing between the two water spots—with no adults around. So that part wasn't so enjoyable—lucky the boys weren't also inside the sauna!

What a great experience

We've stayed a lot of five-star hotels all around the world, and this was probably one of our favorites we've ever stayed at. From the moment you walk in, you already feel welcomed from the entire team, and they treat you like family. We stayed in five different cities during our tour through Portugal, and we certainly saved the best hotel in Porto for last. The accommodations, views, personnel, food, and amenities were all top-notch. I've already started recommending this place to all my friends when they visit, and I can't wait to visit again. We will 100% be back:)!!

Nothing, everything was exceptional!! You do need to get an Uber or Taxi to get into the heart of downtown, but it's a short and cheap ride (5-6 euros one-way.) If you enjoy walking, it's like a 15-20 minute walk, which really isn't that bad.

Room large, spacious and extremely comfortable. Fantastic Breakfasts. Restaurant Dinners with unique combinations. Staff just go the extra mile entering into friendly conversations and communication. Plus notes in the car wishing us a wonderful journey from our Bell Boy Tobcato.

Without any doubt, this Hotel deserves any accolade that is bestowed on it. They provided an exceptional experience from the moment we were greeted at the door, to the early breakfast they provided for our 06.00hrs departure. Having booked a standard room we were amazed to be offered a complimentary upgrade to the Virginia Woolf suite which is stunning in itself but part of the architecturally wonderful annexe. Adriana, who met us at the reception and was our guide to the hotels facilities, was genuinely charming and excited to see our reactions, starting with the mundane (bar, dining area, spa etc) and then as the tour progressed revealing the more exotic aspects such as the superb balcony view and all the special extras of the 'Woolfe suite'. The hand writing greeting accompanying the 'Fizz, chocs and fruit' with text taken from Virginia Woolf's writing indicated the staff were providing a degree of thought beyond the ordinary. All the staff (and there were many) were friendly and helpful but some were obviously proud and enthusiastic to be part of the 'Torel family' which enhanced the assurance that the Hotel ethos was to offer their guests the best experience possible.

I don't like this heading... The greater a hostel (from B&B to Luxury Hotel) endeavours to create the best experience for their guest's, the more 'nit-picking' the response will be. Everyone has personal preferences and aspects that irritate and no matter how insightful a staff member endeavours to be, they cannot read minds. Did every aspect of our Torel Avantgarde stay reach 100%? No. It is impossible for that to happen, but the quality of presentation was superb, the effort of staff to make it the best experience they could produce is praise worthy and our appreciation of our stay in Torel Avantgarde will stay in our memories for many years.

Amazing welcome when we arrived from the friendly staff, including showing us around the hotel and it’s facilities and then to our room. Great location, lovely bar/sitting area in the flower room. They also do a useful messaging service so you can ask them to book restaurants/find out information/give feedback at any point in your stay.

The only thing we saw (and only saw it once) is that at breakfast one of the waiters did not clear and replace all the cutlery after the people who had been sitting at that table left. It looked like a spoon was unused so it wasn’t replaced and just left on the table with the new cutlery. Feedback was given to reception staff when we left. This was the only thing we didn’t like in an exceptional stay at this lovely hotel.

Amazing location, great views of Porto. Interior is really well done, every detail has been thought through. Team was super welcoming and gave us a tour of the whole property with lots of pro tips, including a really sweet welcome gift. The rooms are based off of Avantgarde artists which was a really special touch. Breakfast was phenomenal, didn’t have the opportunity to try the dinner there. Spa area was also lovely, we tried the sauna and steam rooms, the jacuzzi pool was also great even during a rainy day.

This was our favorite hotel. We had a balcony which was well worth the extra cost and would recommend. Wonderful helpful staff who organized a wine tour for us.. great breakfast, comfy bed.. couldn’t ask for more. Although the location is up a hill, Ubers are cheap if you don’t want to walk it and the view is worth it.

Bowers of roses, draped macrame, serene poolside views and the friendliest, most helpful staff imaginable. This is such a unique and marvelously comfortable small hotel. Every room is decorated differently, but all are ideally cozy. The breakfast is extremely delicious and has many options. Our encounters with staff — front desk, restaurant, housekeeping- was uniformly perfect. Just the nicest people. Really.

We loved the hotel and everything about it. Faultless. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the helpfulness of the staff throughout our stay made our stay ever better. We felt so welcome in the hotel and so at home. We are frequent travellers and the hotel was just perfect for our special family holiday. Thank you so much everyone at the The Torel.

Maybe the addition of a larger illuminated light would have been great, but we could not fault the hotel at all!

Amazingly beautiful boutique hotel with brilliant staff and the most beautiful views. It is far enough from the crowds to be quiet and peaceful but yet in walking distance to everything. The breakfast is delicious and the food in their restaurant is also a must.

Facilities are amazing, interiors are beautiful and staff couldn’t be more helpful! The champagne breakfast was also a lovely way to start the day 🥂
