Good location near to Penn Station with nice cafe & bars on site

Rooms were very small - we have stayed in NY before but never had to climb over each other to get into bed. Bathroom was ok but mirror not above sink making it difficult to shave etc. staff were polite rather than friendly

loved having a private balcony in the city !

breakfast was unavailable on the one morning i needed it to be , due to unex pi acted staffing shortage.

We loved our stay! The hotel is beautiful, well-situated in Manhattan and I love that there aren’t carpets in the rooms. The bed was comfortable - not too soft or too firm. The staff were wonderful and the rooftop bar was lovely.

The location of this hotel was pretty perfect. We could walk around the block to get on the subway. It was super cute with a great aesthetic.

The rooms were really small for what we paid. And it was all in all very dark. Older people with vision problems may want to stay elsewhere.

I love everything aspect of it. From the minute I walked in I was greet by Alex at the front desk with a smile and very attentive while I shared we wanted to leave our luggage before checking in. Alex, proactively checked us in early and we started to have a great conversation regarding their facilities, restaurants, cafes and more. Kara and Naermah were the nicest one when we were checking out. Engaging in our next trip conversation and sharing great places to visit.

We had a super return visit to Made - after a family visit from Ireland last year. The staff were excellent, so friendly and kind. Nothing was an issue and all members of staff we met around the hotel were so helpful. We were thrilled to receive a room upgrade & bottle of bubbles as return guests. We look forward to coming back soon!

The rooms have a certain design and looks very nice but it’s not really practical for storage space.

Great location in Midtown. Up to date facilities

Only issue was one elevator was out of order during our stay. That meant waits coming and going. Should not be a problem for future guests

Very friendly staff, very welcoming and accommodating when I arrived! The little touches such as welcome drinks, umbrellas for the rain and delicious coffee in the lobby made for a luxurious stay. The lobby was comfortable to work from and the bar had great late bites

One of the two elevators was not working. Had a long wait to get an elevator during busy times of day.

Friendly staff, good vibe

The hotel was aesthetically pleasing and the staff were really friendly - when we checked in we'd just missed the complimentary wine period, but were given some anyway, which was a lovely surprise after a long journey! The bed was super comfortable and the complimentary toiletries in the room were lush.

The bathroom door needs to be looked at - I fully closed it whilst having a shower and found myself stuck in there. We prised it open in the end, but it needs a more substantial handle! Also, the signage on the outside of the building could be clearer.

This hotel is incredible! The location is excellent, less than a ten-minute walk from Penn Station. The rooms are stylish, not your standard cookie-cutter hotel look. They are gorgeous with very comfortable beds and luxurious showers. They were also quiet and had a good view. The staff was wonderful, we were celebrating a birthday and they left a nice note and a sweet treat for the birthday girl, which was so incredibly thoughtful. They were also very accommodating. We arrived early to drop off our bags, but they let us check into one room early which gave us a chance to freshen up before heading out on the town. We also requested to have the rooms on the same floor, and they gave us neighboring rooms - above and beyond!

Location was ideal. Easy walking to the major sites of interest. Surprisingly quiet for its place in New York city. Loved the toiletries and shower. Happy hour was a nice touch.

I booked this hotel due to its advertisement of a rooftop bar and terrace. We stayed 2 nights, and on both nights, the rooftop terrace was booked out for private events. So we never saw a city view. The lifts have very dim lighting, so had to use the torch on my phone to select our floor. The lounge area seemed to be more of an Internet cafe with all chairs taken by people using phones and laptops. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but this was provided by a barista in the lounge, but nowhere to sit and drink it in comfort. Disclaimer:- We are in our sixties and, although well travelled, have never been to New York before or even entered a hotel in the city. This place definitely has a young vibe to it, and it seems to be working for them.

Outside patio used by others when supposedly for guests only. Tatty , eg cigarette butts in plant pots. On at least four occasions, Good Behaviour bar/lobby bar given over to private events!

Incredibly well located, there is a subway station very close by so easy to get around the city. Very close to the Empire State Building too. Free wine & coffee provided each day, which was a great touch. Staff were very attentive, we requested an extra pillow and it was delivered to our room in less than 5 mins.

The hotel is well located with less than a ten min walk to Penn station. There are some nice restaurants and grocery/drug stores nearby for supplies. The wifi worked well. The shower pressure is excellent. The hotel extended our check out by two hours which helped us get everything sorted before our trip to the airport. The bed is very comfortable but on a platform about two feet off the floor instead of a traditional bed frame. This was fine for us as a couple in our early 40s but might not suit an older person or anyone who has difficulty getting on/off low surfaces.

Rooms where dark and the rooftop had always private parties so hotel guests couldn’t enjoy there so much

The hotel was modern and cool, nice lobby area and the room style was great. The bed and pillows were super super comfy and there were dressing gowns, slippers and nice shower gel etc provided. Nice touch with the birthday bubbles and welcome note. The location is fantastic, 5 min walk to main station, very central location between Empire State Building and flat iron building.

Some of the reception staff were lovely but some were abrupt and rude. There was lots of noise from the street (which is to be expected in nyc city centre) and could hear people talking in the lobby (although with some earplugs you’d be fine)! The room is pretty dark when trying to see to get ready and there is super limited space for hanging things up.

Location was PERFECT! So close to major attractions. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Free tea and coffee was much appreciated as well.

The room itself was nice - comfy bed, clean, strong wifi. The location is also great - close to Penn Station and accessible to the subway, and close to restaurants - making it easy to get around.

The lounge was incredibly crowded at all times - we couldn't find seats for all three of us to gather. I also wish there was a more substantive option for breakfast or coffee in the room.

Very good location when visiting NYC. Very comfortable twin bedded room which was big enough for 2 adults. Rooftop bar an added bonus. Plenty restaurants nearby.

Paper thin walls and we are pretty good at putting up with noise but you can hear the television in the next room very clearly, the head of the bed is on the wall where the TV is.

The reception staff. Lucas was friendly enough , but the rest of the reception staff were disappointing. Our expectation of a $645 per night hotel is of a friendly welcome , smiles and a sense that we the guests matter . None of this seemed to be the case .The reception staff were lacklustre, disinterested in us as guests and broadly unhelpful. I am therefore very surprised that Mr and Mrs Smith recommend the hotel so highly and that the Booking.com rating is so high . Such a shame . This didn’t in any way ruin our experience of a fantastic stay in New York . I really do think however that the reception staff need to raise their game big time !

Lovely staff, very clean and maintained very well. The location is excellent right at the heart of Manhattan. The staff were very attentive and even offered a lovely gesture to help us celebrate our anniversary. 5 star all around.

The communal areas are full of students and no space for guests to sit which was a shame.

We had only booked a basic double room And it was very small with a poor layout. The bed being raised on the platform was annoying and there was hardly any room to store luggage. Room Very expensive for what it was. The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself had a nice design, it was in walking distance to most attractions and near to the subway. Very busy in the coffee shop area and hot in the communal areas

— Clean, stylish, and well-maintained property. — King Room with City View did not disappoint—bed was large and super comfy. Huge panoramic windows, crazy view. — Some reviews mentioned poor noise insulation, but our room was surprisingly quiet. We only knew we had neighbors because we saw them in the hallway. Occasional hallway and elevator noise, but nothing that disturbed our sleep—just typical hotel sounds. — Wall unit serves as a TV area, clothing rack, and fold-out table. (Would’ve loved a mirror nearby to use it as a vanity.) — Prime location in Koreatown, surrounded by great spots and amazing food. — Daily room service was reliable and consistent.

The daily $30 “Curation Fee” wasn’t unexpected but still felt deceptive. The only real perk was 10% off food & bar, but unless you’re spending $300 a day, you don’t make use of the fee. The “free drink” is the cheapest item on the menu, and Wi-Fi should be free anyway. No mini fridge, no gym, no included breakfast, and overpriced snacks. The fee feels like a slap in the face. Shame such an otherwise great hotel uses this shady scheme.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, both to celebrate my birthday and when my flight home was cancelled (assisting with potential additional night and later cancellation of that extra night as no longer required!) - they were also just generally helpful and kind whenever I interacted with them. Hotel is beautiful, well-located, stylish, quiet and with lovely rooms and facilities.

As others have noted, lighting can be too low in some areas. There was no door on the bathroom in the room, which if you were staying with someone else might not be ideal. I would have loved a tea kettle or coffee maker in the room, rather than having to go down to the lobby, but the tea/coffee from Paper was always very lovely!
