The Russell, Nashville

The building itself was charming and the communication with the staff was great. They were very helpful and accommodating. The Dyson hair dryer was fantastic.

I felt the space could have been utilized better. There was very limited room to hang clothes and no drawers in either the bedroom or bathroom. And while I understand the no housekeeping policy during the stay, I would have liked the floor to at least start out clean instead of gritty. I also found it somewhat odd that the bedside lights could not be individually turned on and off. Another small glitch: the luggage lift was not working on the day we left.

Because of the uniqueness, difficult to achieve privacy. Room walls paper thin.

The theme and decor were great! It was close to downtown.

Only issue I had was I wasn’t sure how to get more towels.

The is an immense attention to detail. From the snacks, water, extra towels, makeup remover, tv instructions, bathrobes and Dyson hair dryer just to name a few. The management is clearly well traveled and has identified important amenities for guests.

The guests above us, stomped around like elephants late in the evening and very early in the morning.

Such an awesome location in East Nashville! Lots of local goodies nearby and you’re not far from downtown at all. The inside is absolutely beautiful and the surrounding neighborhood is quaint, quiet, and pleasant. The check-in process was so easy, I prefer that to any regular hotel check-in any day

A new personal standard for a hotel. The Russel has its own character, with tons of charm. The common spaces are exceptional, amenities are exceptional, the rooms are exceptional.

I didn’t realize that interior rooms were windowless, but that is on me. Just a warning.

Quiet park of Nashville but a close drive to the action. Walkable to breakfast/coffee spots. Free parking! Room with two king beds a major bonus! Soft sheets - all of the details were considered, no penny spared. Loved the local treats!! Such a fun surprise and introduced me to my new favorite chocolate brand!

The check in process is very easy. Room is clean, all amenities are complete as described. With good quality amenities. The building itself is beautiful, modern, and historic. Parking is easily available, near and included with the room rate which is why we chose this place for. Nice job. Will recommend this to anyone new to Nashville.

We decided to stay at The Russell after leaving a nightmare Airbnb stay. What a great choice that was! As soon as we pulled up to The Russell, we were awed by it’s former church structure, and the sorbet-tinged country vibe of its interior design. We also loved that our stay contributed to meals and accommodation to Nashville’s houseless population. In short here is what we loved about The Russell: Aesthetic Location Cleanliness Customer Service Bed We will definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous place. Super clean, quiet, and just really neat and really well decorated, furniture, etc. Self-use coffee in lobby is great. Lovely neighborhood - we walked to all food, drink, coffee. Quiet and pleasantly area of town. 100% recommend and would stay again.

Loved the location and the repurposed church as a hotel while keeping the architectural elements.

This is probably my bad….. we were in room 3:3 which had a skylight to the lobby. I didn’t know you could close a curtain over the skylight; so the first night was a bit rough with the lobby lighting coming in overhead. In hindsight, I should have texted the hotel staff during the night (they are available 24/7), and they would have solved my problem right away.

It’s in a great location in Nashville and it’s cool what they did converting a church into a hotel. I did not know how I would feel about it not having an actual staff, but I did not mind it at all.

The hotel is lovely. It's modern yet comfortable. The room is very well decorated. LOVED the shower. Also the room comes with complimentary snacks from local producers. That was a nice touch. Also they use a Dyson hair dryer which is TOP NOTCH.

The toilet area is separated, which is good, but there's no AC or fan in that part of the bathroom.

The Russell Nashville is an extraordinary boutique hotel experience! I was only in town for one night, and exhausted by the time I arrived at the hotel after an event. My room was quiet, impeccably clean, sublimely comfortable, and gorgeous. I appreciated the thoughtful touches (tasty snacks and bottled water). The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been a huge bathtub. That said, the shower was enormous. I felt good that part of my room rate helped homeless charities in the area, and I hope to stay at The Russell again soon.

The church is beautiful and the design of The Russell accentuates it. The rooms are full of character. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is beautiful and safe. It’s is a short Uber ride to downtown. The bed was very comfortable!

The lobby is very welcoming and has a great vibe with the vintage decor. We were loving walking through taking pictures and just enjoying the space.

We weren’t able to really unpack with the small “closet” type furniture so we were constantly moving our big suitcases around; all in all a very very small item to worry about though.

Very well designed space, huge room, lots of nice touches and the option to leave things in the lockers provided and use the lobby to relax was much appreciated as we waited till we had to leave for Memphis

Due to the Taylor Swift gigs prices were much higher than normal but it still provided great value for us!

Beautiful and comfortable! The location is perfect- close to neighborhood restaurants and shops. A short ride to all the sites. Comfy beds and the nicest robe to use during your stay. Easy to check in and out.

Beautiful hotel, clean and near the city (12mins car ride). Comfortable beds and well equipped. Checkin and checkout was incredibly easy! Complimentary coffee included. Overall perfect.

A little bit of noise but nothing to be concerned about.

I enjoyed the non formal check in process, the style of the property, and the location.

The only thing I can think of is that it was a bit noisy in the morning with people checking out, but it is expected in an older building and didn’t bother us much.

The decor was awesome, the beds were very comfortable, the room was very cute. The coffee downstairs was awesome!

The batteries in the remote were dead and we couldn't watch TV. The door to the bathroom came off the track and we couldn't get it back on so it wasn't comfortable to try and get in and out.

The view and the style of the church was beautiful. I loved the Lobby and cleanliness. surroundings outside felt safe.

I don’t have any complaints.

It takes some getting used to because there's no office/traditional checkin, but this is a super cool place! They've done a great job of integrating the building's uniqueness and history into its design.

It's a little weird not to see a person and just have emails or texts available if there are issues. I will say, though, there were no issues.
