Wombat’s City Hostel, Munich

Great location, good property - convenient in so many ways. Towels are available for rent, and there’s elevator as well! Super friendly staff and quite spacious rooms. Had a good stay overall 😊

WiFi in the room wasn’t stable.

The location is superb, close to Munchen Hbf. Staff are nice & polite. I stayed in 6 bed dorm room and the room is spacious. There is a locker in the room for our belongings and no padlock needed since the locker can only be opened with our room key card. The kitchen although small but has everything needed. The communal area is nice, comfy & bright.

No curtain around the bed for privacy. No AC but there were large windows to let in some breeze in the summer nights. The kitchen was closed too early (10:00 p.m.).

This was my first ever stay in a hostel and it was a nice experience! I liked the bathroom shared only with your room and the bed was comfortable. Location was great too!

Adjusting to the new time zone was a bit difficult in a shared space - I was up very early and tried my best not to wake others in my room.

Beds were old however everything else was great, staff was awesome. All of them were too helpful.

Great hostel, amazing friendly staff and a great location.

Only the bar has air conditioning, the rooms have just one fan, so if you're staying in summer, expect a sweaty night's sleep!

The property was close to the train station, which is now what I wanted most. Plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfy and clean, however, navigating the top bunk is uncomfortable. An extra step on the bottom before you get to the floor would be better. You either have to long step back or jump down.

There no air conditioning in the room. Maybe I missed that is the description, but it made for an unpleasant welcome. We slept with the window wide open. There were two fans n the room, but it’s only favorable for those on the bottom bunks. Also, I the shower in TINY, and there is no place to sit anything. I had to put my soap on the floor and turn the shower off so I could properly lather and wash.

Really like the common area and the staff! Nice rooms - bedding could be better but really not bad for a hostel

Bedding (especially the size of the cushions)

We stayed in one of the small number of private rooms on the top floor of this hostel. Our room was compact, but adequate and clean, and with the advantage of a small roof "terrace" with table and chairs. The room was quiet at night, and the optional breakfast was very good value. The location of this hostel is very good, just across from the main rail station and near to tram stops etc.

The location is pretty good, super close to the Munich central station. The premises are spacious with a central area that’s quite unique to the hostel. There’s an area that’s the breakfast area by day and bar by night. They have karaoke and a ton of activities to keep the travellers engaged. The staff is super nice. The receptionist was super helpful and even provided some local food suggestions. They offer late checkout till 1 pm with additional fees.

It could get noisy from the bar if you are staying on the first floor. If that bothers you, try to ask for rooms on the upper floors. It can get super stiff during summers. They don’t have air conditioning however they provide with a couple fans which was help a bit. You have to carry your own set of bedsheet, mattress cover and pillow cover and set the bed yourself which was interesting for me. The policy to invite other people over at night is a bit lax. One of the people from my dorm room invited s girl over and spent the night with her on his bunk bed (obviously I couldn’t sleep).

It was great, loved the reception staff, so helpful.

Missed having eggs for the breakfast. Bar always closed earlier than advertised. Room was a bit hot.

I liked the location of the place, really very close to the main train station. When I checked in the guy at the desk was very kind and precise in giving me all the details about the room.

Too much noise, coming from outside, people shouting, talking very loudly and laughing in the street, but just under the window of the room where I was, made resting almost impossible as the window was open for the hot weather.

Staff were very nice and helpful and I loved that I could store my luggage there before checking in! Facilities were clean overall and it was nice to have a bathroom inside the unit.

There was no AC and the I was sweating so much on the top bunk bed :(

It wasn't hot when I was there and even then the room was too warm when trying to sleep and the kitchen was uncomfortably warm. The kitchen is way too small for a hostel of this size. Street noise overnight is pretty loud. The creaky bed bunks are unpleasant, and there is no privacy in the bunk.

I choose this hostel because of proximity to the train.It is a low key with crowded small kitchen and no terrace outdoors,but it works.People like a bar and get noisy in the evenings.

Things work for me

Location is close to main train station and hop on hop off bus stop.

Bed and pillow are not clean. Staff allocated the same bed to 2 different people and this confusion started at 2am in the morning. Lost my sleep coz of this.

Good location near main train station and short walks to tourist district. Clean, nice lockers, laundry, helpful staff, decent communal kitchen. I didn’t use bar but it seemed to be a popular place. Breakfast buffet also looked good although I didn’t use it. There is a parking garage on site. Nice decor. Free food area.

No air conditioning in bedrooms, only communal Lounge. No privacy curtains on bunk beds. Communal refrigerators too full of outdated food (labeled guest departure date) and no dry-food storage area in kitchen.

What I liked the most was the cleanness. The staff was super helpful. The hostel is located close to the central station and the city center. I did almost everything walking

The breakfast could include juice. They didn't have a fan when I arrived and it was extremely hot inside the room. However, the next day they put one inside our room

It was very close to everything, next to the central train station, and a 10-minute walk from the old town. The room was okay, comfortable, big enough for 6 people.

Usually there were parties in the hostel most of the night, which you could hear everywhere in the building. If the window is open, it could be a little disturbing if you want to go to sleep early, but they were usually finished by midnight at

It was very hot in the room as there was only a small fan. At night drunk people were yelling in front of the hostel but that’s more because of the area

The check in is quite smooth. The location is close to Munich main station.

The window at the female dorm cannot be closed otherwise we would have lack of air. as the curtain cannot be fully closed, it was quite bright and noisy as well so it was difficult to sleep. I don't like the set up of the shower with not movable shower. Also the breakfast is a bit poor.

Mattress is reeeeally hard, had a real time sleeping on it Since it’s close to the Bahnhof, there are noises on the street up until 3-4 am not really the hostels’ fault but just so you don’t expect an extremely quiet place, also the area seems very sketchy so take extra care when walking at night

All The staff was very pleasant, the breakfast was basic but excellent for the price and I can say that the accommodation is acceptable for the excellent percentage of Munich. I recommend the heated room for everyone, the bathroom and other facilities were very clean.

Very clean and conveniently located. Staff was friendly. Private room with plenty of space, nice balcony and comfy bed. Breakfast was pretty decent.

I was aware it is a hostel, mostly for young travellers and I expected a certain level of noise. However, the staff did nothing about a big group which was shouting, banging doors, playing very loud music at their balcony and constantly running through the corridors and staircase of the 4th and 5th floor after midnight.

In the room, it was fairly clean and nice, and I found the electronic lockers a nice feature. There was also a toilet+shower inside the room which is convenient, and there was a sort of picnic table in the room as well to have some place to sit (especially for those who get the top bunk). The common area and kitchen also seemed quite nice (I didn't get the opportunity to make much use of them, but do note that they have timings), and so were the receptionists and location!

Pillows uncomfortable

The hostel is very comfortable I stayed at a private room, and it was very well taken care of, and comfortable. There was a balcony, that provided a little more sensation of space. The location was amazing. The Wombar was very good.

For a PARTY hostel, there wasn’t a lot of things to be done at the hostel, or any activities organized for groups or to stimulate people to hang out or meet new people.

The terrace double rooms face westward and get a lot of afternoon sun, so it can get very hot in the afternoons/evenings in the room and take a while to cool down again

Everything you would need has been thought of. It’s close to the main train station & all points of interest are within 10mins walk from the accommodation. It’s a great friendly atmosphere. I’ve booked in with Wombats Vienna also. Staff super helpful also

Location-budget wise, its a good choice. The hostel was nice overall, the rooms are quite small for 6 people. The main lobby is very cozy, and the kitchen is fully equipped to cook anything you'd like. There s a Lidl in front of the hostel too. Very close to U bahn, trams and train stations. Secured hallways w card keys, has washing machines for a great price. You can borrow hairdryers with deposit. Very close to the center, like a 10 min walk, or the big museums!

Since it was 1 minute away from the Central train station, the location was extremely weird and creepy. A lot of weird people and police is often there as well. The cleaning lady was also really loud in the morning and startled everyone. Im not fully convinced i would book again

Location is perfect, around the corner of the Munich Central Station. Rooms were spacious and clean.
