Wombat’s City Hostel, Munich

Location is close to main train station and hop on hop off bus stop.

Bed and pillow are not clean. Staff allocated the same bed to 2 different people and this confusion started at 2am in the morning. Lost my sleep coz of this.

Good location near main train station and short walks to tourist district. Clean, nice lockers, laundry, helpful staff, decent communal kitchen. I didn’t use bar but it seemed to be a popular place. Breakfast buffet also looked good although I didn’t use it. There is a parking garage on site. Nice decor. Free food area.

No air conditioning in bedrooms, only communal Lounge. No privacy curtains on bunk beds. Communal refrigerators too full of outdated food (labeled guest departure date) and no dry-food storage area in kitchen.

What I liked the most was the cleanness. The staff was super helpful. The hostel is located close to the central station and the city center. I did almost everything walking

The breakfast could include juice. They didn't have a fan when I arrived and it was extremely hot inside the room. However, the next day they put one inside our room

It was very close to everything, next to the central train station, and a 10-minute walk from the old town. The room was okay, comfortable, big enough for 6 people.

Usually there were parties in the hostel most of the night, which you could hear everywhere in the building. If the window is open, it could be a little disturbing if you want to go to sleep early, but they were usually finished by midnight at

It was very hot in the room as there was only a small fan. At night drunk people were yelling in front of the hostel but that’s more because of the area

The check in is quite smooth. The location is close to Munich main station.

The window at the female dorm cannot be closed otherwise we would have lack of air. as the curtain cannot be fully closed, it was quite bright and noisy as well so it was difficult to sleep. I don't like the set up of the shower with not movable shower. Also the breakfast is a bit poor.

Mattress is reeeeally hard, had a real time sleeping on it Since it’s close to the Bahnhof, there are noises on the street up until 3-4 am not really the hostels’ fault but just so you don’t expect an extremely quiet place, also the area seems very sketchy so take extra care when walking at night

All The staff was very pleasant, the breakfast was basic but excellent for the price and I can say that the accommodation is acceptable for the excellent percentage of Munich. I recommend the heated room for everyone, the bathroom and other facilities were very clean.

Very clean and conveniently located. Staff was friendly. Private room with plenty of space, nice balcony and comfy bed. Breakfast was pretty decent.

I was aware it is a hostel, mostly for young travellers and I expected a certain level of noise. However, the staff did nothing about a big group which was shouting, banging doors, playing very loud music at their balcony and constantly running through the corridors and staircase of the 4th and 5th floor after midnight.

In the room, it was fairly clean and nice, and I found the electronic lockers a nice feature. There was also a toilet+shower inside the room which is convenient, and there was a sort of picnic table in the room as well to have some place to sit (especially for those who get the top bunk). The common area and kitchen also seemed quite nice (I didn't get the opportunity to make much use of them, but do note that they have timings), and so were the receptionists and location!

Good location, direct to the train station, big room with enough space, and also large social area. Always nice for a stay :)

Pillows uncomfortable

The hostel is very comfortable I stayed at a private room, and it was very well taken care of, and comfortable. There was a balcony, that provided a little more sensation of space. The location was amazing. The Wombar was very good.

For a PARTY hostel, there wasn’t a lot of things to be done at the hostel, or any activities organized for groups or to stimulate people to hang out or meet new people.

The terrace double rooms face westward and get a lot of afternoon sun, so it can get very hot in the afternoons/evenings in the room and take a while to cool down again

Everything you would need has been thought of. It’s close to the main train station & all points of interest are within 10mins walk from the accommodation. It’s a great friendly atmosphere. I’ve booked in with Wombats Vienna also. Staff super helpful also

Location-budget wise, its a good choice. The hostel was nice overall, the rooms are quite small for 6 people. The main lobby is very cozy, and the kitchen is fully equipped to cook anything you'd like. There s a Lidl in front of the hostel too. Very close to U bahn, trams and train stations. Secured hallways w card keys, has washing machines for a great price. You can borrow hairdryers with deposit. Very close to the center, like a 10 min walk, or the big museums!

Since it was 1 minute away from the Central train station, the location was extremely weird and creepy. A lot of weird people and police is often there as well. The cleaning lady was also really loud in the morning and startled everyone. Im not fully convinced i would book again

Location is perfect, around the corner of the Munich Central Station. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Very big hostel. Nice clean rooms. I stayed at6 bed female room. Nice bar and courtyard. Very near old town, just across train station. A lot of places to eat around.

Really good location, good roommates (although one was a little bit odd, but that’s hosteling for you), good showers, comfy beds and a pretty cool hostel all round tbf!

Only thing was my wooden bed frame, which was fine for my week there, no problem, but it felt a little cheap too.

Location

Great location, five minutes walk to the train station and to the city centre was a fifteen minutes walk. Good space in the dormitory. Shower and WC accessed directly from the dorm. Extra shower and WC available on the landing. Adequate, if small kitchen with narrow table and highseats with adjoining large dining/lounge area.

My only issue was that the staff were cleaning the floor of the dining/lounge area between 8-9 a.m which is when it was needed for breakfasting.

Beds are comfortable. There are a lot of common spaces.

Excellent location, very clean room and bathroom and super quiet considering it's so close to the train station. Very friendly staff and a lot of services, like breakfast, a bar, luggage storage room etc.

The only thing that could be improved was the pillow, as it was really big and mis-shapen, so not the most comfortable, but otherwise no complaints :)

Excellent locatation. When in a dorm it was good that there were other toilets available as well as te 1 ensuite for the room. Good wifi.

A roommate of mine tried to kick me out of my own bed at 1am but that's not your fault so don't worry about that! Just a funny story

I stayed in 6female dorm, the room, bathroom, sheets and everything was very clean. I had some little problems with my phone and the window in the room and the stuff was very helpful. The garden was very cozy and good. Location is also very good, so close to the oldtown and hauptbahnhof. They had kareoke party and it was very fun.

You need to buy towel and there is no hair dryer in the bathrooms. Also the breakfast was very disappointed, no eggs no hot food or something special.

Great location, spacious dorms and good soundproofing - even though there was a party going on downstairs I couldn’t hear it from the room.

Nothing - I was worried it was going to be a party hostel and that I wouldn’t sleep, but as mentioned above the soundproofing meant that wasn’t an issue.

The location is very good. You can reach the city center in about 15 minutes. The staff at the reception were very friendly.

It would be much better if the bunk beds had curtains.

Well located, nice big 8 bed dorm with a picnic style table in the middle. We had our own en-suite toilet / shower room, they was a great bat on site and nice relaxing area and kitchen to use

Was sharing a females only dorm for 2 nights. Felt it could have been kept a bit cleaner for example floors could have been brushed and washed. But otherwise was good

Front desk staff-Victoria has a warm-hearted service mindset. She can relate to my personal situation and concerns about my emotional feelings, while the unexpected things happened not on purpose. Also, she understands very well how to react exactly like a professional service industry manager does, no matter what happened to the room guest situation. On the contrary, the man worked at the reception on the same shift with Victoria on April 5 Saturday was putting on his poker face toward me. He should’ve been learnt his professionalism with Victoria in his job.

There were some problems with the room door lock as well as the toilet. (But they sent the repair man to fix it up on the next day.)

Easy to find, the bed was basic but fine, people were friendly in the dorm and so were the staff. Central location right by the train station

Didn't have any issues. It's not glamorous, but it does what it says on the tin.

Great to meet new people, however it really depends on who's in your room and if they're actually considerate or not.
