Lack of reasonable toiletries given the room price Building development directly outside Late notice that the spa was closed due to private booking … this was one of the reasons we originally booked.

Everything about the Charles was excellent. The staff, the breakfast, the bar, the accommodations could not have been better. Every question and every request were diligently handled. It could not have been better.

Do not change a thing. This is the perfect accommodation for a visit to Munich.

As always excellent service by hotel staff, timely and precise. Breakfast one of the best and with high standard over many years (not only excellent but available till 11.30 am) Location is fine if you travel with kids, since next to hotel is kids playground and it is still short walk to city centre.

Not hotel fault, but generally parks in Munich got compared to 5-10yrs ago much dirtier, full of homeless people and streets are more crowded with beggars.

Lovely hotel with super helpful staff! Convenient to museums and the Hauptbahnhof.

While I was comfortable enough, I do feel the bed was near time to be replaced. There was a hollow on my side, and my husband complained about a stiff back. The location was great for museums and for the main train station-- perfect if using Munich as a base to train to Salzburg and Innsbruck-- but about a mile from Marienplatz and the Viktualienmarkt. It might have been fun to be a bit closer to them for fun eating and drinking options.

The hotel staff is second to none. Wow! What service, how friendly. Great location, and room. Can’t say anything bad about this property. We’ll definitely be back. The concierge Isabelle, went over and above. So helpful as trains and airports closed due to winter storms. She is truly delightful, and her friendship will not soon be forgotten. Your entire staff is truly wonderful.

Better hours of access for kids in the pool

-Very generous room size and extremely spacious bathroom -during out stay the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible, especially at the restaurant.

- Some difficulties with communication before we arrived. Asked for restaurant recommendations and my email was never answered, even after sending a follow-up email. Instead I received automatic replies and an out-of-office message. - Amenities sub-par for a 5 star hotel, nothing special was offered other than the standard stuff.

Great helpful staff

This time -we are frequent customers- housekeeping wasn’t up to standard. Four out of the 15 days I arrived back to find my room didn’t have any service.

We didnt like spa very much. Because temperature of pool was cold, and we mised some hot jacuzzy bath there. Sure pool should be more heated. Sauna and steam was Ok. Price per night is too high and hotel is a bit far from city center.

a bit pricey

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is close to the main train station and a short walk to tourist attractions and the main shopping precinct. The room was extremely spacious, clean and tidy. The pool, steam room and sauna are a nice indulgence, but I was really impressed with the inclusion of a clothes spinner in the change rooms to wring out bathers.

The breakfast has an excellent choice with buffet options and menu choices too. Staff in the restaurant are friendly and helpful. the food is excellent.

The botanical gardens opposite the hotel are advertised on the hotel website and photos appear to show them but in real life they are dreadful!

We had heard that this was an exceptional hotel, but it far exceeded our expectations! Our family had two suites over the holidays, and both were very spacious, comfortable and luxurious with so many amenities, like a deep soaking tub and fully stocked mini-fridge. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many of the major sites and near public transportation. Loved having drinks and appetizers down in the lobby bar after a full day of sightseeing. Our grown kids caught bad colds during the trip that worsened in Munich. The front desk staff was so helpful--even offering to go to the chemist and get over-the-counter medications for us (nonprescription). Don't miss this hotel!
