Residency Hotel Fort, Mumbai

Everything – really, it's the staff who make it exceptional. The location is good and the price is fair, and it's very clean and well kept. What not to like!

The location is very convenient, close to the new Aqualine metro station and within walking distance of some of Mumbai's main tourist attractions. Also, Fort area is relatively quiet and easy to get around. The staff was very helpful, they arranged a private day tour for me that turned out to be great. The breakfast was basic but very nice and good enough for me.

My single bedroom was very small, not a problem anyway, but was a bit worn out. You can tell how the humid Mumbai climate has taken a toll even inside the room. I slept with the AC on all night long.

The staff are amazing

Breakfast is made to order and they friendly waiters will bring it to your table. Eggs, dosas, idli etc. there is fresh fruit and cereals you can help yourself too. Complimentary masala tea, coffees, specialty teas available all day to guests with cookies. We had a club room which was ample for our needs. The location is within walking distance of a number Irani cafes, Indian/Punjabi/South Indian restaurants. You are spoilt for choice. Walk around the back of the hotel to experience daily life in Mumbai. It’s an eye opener. The staff are friendly and very welcoming and we will certainly be back.

I love it here.

25 minutes walk to the Taj Palace and Gateway to India would allow them to trade on location alone, but the staff work very hard to make everyone comfortable and to identify and supply your every need. We came as guests and left as friends.

The staff, including Balu and his close colleague (whose name I never got, unfortunately), are the stars here. They do their best to anticipate your every need. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options available. Though we booked this hotel for its convenient location the night before returning to Europe, it made a big impression on us. We would (and hopefully will) stay there again.

We were in an annex building which felt a bit abandoned at first but was nonetheless in good shape.

Room itself were clean. I was put up in the second building next to the reception. Room starting with digit 4. The lobby and interior of this building requires serious upkeep and renovations. The bldg where the reception is located is fine and rooms are modern. Breakfast is great as well.

The staff were so attentive, friendly and very generous with their time.

The staff are extremely helpful. Breakfast is SO nice and the dining area is cosy. You can enjoy the food while you’re watching the life on the streets at the same time.

The stay was excellent from start to finish. The staff were consistently warm and welcoming, which made a real difference to the overall experience. A special thanks to the gentleman at the reception desk who went out of his way to help me organize my final day, coordinating everything smoothly with the external car city tour provider. His assistance was greatly appreciated. I would also like to mention Firoj from housekeeping, who was exceptionally kind and attentive; noticing that I was unwell, he thoughtfully provided extra items such as tissues in addition to taking care of the room. His friendliness and consideration did not go unnoticed, and overall it was a wonderful experience with truly caring staff.

Staff excelled everywhere. Room and bathrooms very clean and comfortable. Good location for Diu Fort and beautiful outlook in the evening from second floor bar terrace.

Some items offered on menu not available. Needs the swimming pool to be completed to be the perfect stay.

Fantastic, helpful staff who are super friendly. The rooms are clean and well maintained, breakfast is good, and there are great restaurants nearby. It's very easy to navigate to and from and (like everything in Mumbai) feels very safe. Laundry was super cheap.

My stay here was exceptional. The location is phenomenal, within walking distance of Colaba, but it is the staff who made my stay so memorable. Rooms are clean and comfortable with very reliable wifi. Breakfast each morning included a small buffet of Indian options, fruit and toast, plus freshly made coffee, eggs, and dosas.

Fantastic, clean, mosquito free location in the heart of Fort. I appreciated the welcome Chai and tasty breakfasts. Hotel is close to metro and staff was very helpful.

This is the fourth time I have stayed here- I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Mumbai- lovely staff and very well placed.

The service from the staff especially in the restaurant was outstanding they were so, so friendly. A sign on the wall said it all "Come as guests and go as friends" it was so true.

Water tankers being filled right outside the restaurant window. Absolutely nothing to do with the hotel but it could be screened off.

Great place to stay in Mumbai! Everything perfect

Staff: excellent attentive and welcoming, thoughtful staff throughout the stay. Arrival: seamless process arriving and settling in with information about amenities, breakfast area, wifi log in etc. Checked if I needed any information about the area or activities. Full stand in foyer with a range of maps and information. Facilities: excellent buffet breakfast with fabulous Indian breakfasts that also cater to Westerner diets. A shot glass of fresh beetroot juice was wonderful, as well as daily glasses of fresh juice and bottled water. Complementary afternoon tea or coffee in the lounge area helped to meet other guests and chat and share travel information. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean with a lovely shower and hot water. Everything listed as available in this hotel was available. Aircon was working to increase comfort. There was a laundry service a door away and my laundry came back beautifully washed and pressed. The only thing that I worried about (it is my worry) is how many plastic water bottles I used, I am increasingly conscious of the plastic waste in my home country Australia and am thinking about how to reduce my plastic use. That is my challenge for the next trip to India.

We stayed in the heritage wing of the Residency Hotel Fort. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. They were very attentive and very helpful, helping with luggage, organising taxis, translation, answering questions, and giving helpful advice. They got us a taxi right away when we had a medical emergency. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food (fruits, dosas, omelettes, waffles, pav bhaji, coffee, tea, juice, lassi, and much more). Right next to the hotel is a laundry service (pay per item). We are very glad we picked this hotel for our stay in Mumbai.

There was some renovation work going on next door, which meant drilling noises past 8pm on the first evening. Sometimes the hotel card didn't work but there was always a member of staff available to help open the room and remagnetise the card (card should be kept separate from phone, which we tried to do as much as possible).

Lovely place to stay within easy walking access to most major places to visit. Breakfast was exceptional. Staff couldn’t be nicer and made us feel very welcome. Always helpful.

A really great hotel right the in heart of the main area of Mumbai to cover the sights. The staff were extremely welcoming, and the breakfast excellent! Highly recommend!

Overall a pleasent stay this hotel. We were able to check in 4 houirs earluy after our arrival at 8am. The room was clean and relatively quiet (apart from the noisy fridge) Although the bin was very dirty and rusty and although it was emptied every day the plastic bag was never replaced during our stay. The TV did not work and despite my requests was not fixed - although it not really bother us and we were too busy to be watching tv but it is nice to have the news on whilst in the room. Location was excellent walking/subway distance from the gateway, CSMT station and the colonial area of downtown Mumbai. Staff were excellent, very knowledgable and helped me out with obtaining a sim card. Rajeesh especially. Breaksfast was sufficient and the waiters & chef supper helpful and friendly.

The Residency has been a regular hotel for us when in Mumbai partly due to its location in the area we like but also because the staff are really helpful and accommodating. Booking the larger rooms was a great option.t

A beautiful surprise in Mumbai that we are very grateful - and will come back again to! We had a wonderful stay with great hospitality (thank you Rajesh and Team), excellent breakfast, comfortable bed, awesome shower, all in the centre of Mumbai and within close reach of all major sights. Highly recommend for leisure and business trips!

Well situated in quiet though accessible street in a great part of Mumbai. The complimentary lime water in reception area and afternoon tea and coffees in the lounge made by Peter. Superb breakfasts and very nice cooks and waiters. The staff were extremely helpful - Rajesh organised our uber to the airport, good priced excursions can be arranged from the reception desk, and nothing was too much trouble. The elderly owner chatted every morning to visitors. Some of the visitors had been coming back regularly over many decades!

Very helpful staff, room comfy and spotless, breakfast good, location very easy got find (right near metro station) and a great base to start exploring from. Staff helped us sort SIM card and taxi away. We felt very looked after, while we got out bearings, and it was nice that we could chill for a bit, including after checkout, in the lounge. Thanks!

The hotel is right in the centre of Mumbai in the Fort area. It means its feasible to walk to most downtown places if you want. The staff were simply exceptional - they sorted a sim for the phone, gave advice that was really useful - and were consistently friendly and efficient.

Mumbai is more expensive than most of India and the same is true of hotels. The hotel represents good value for money when compared to the resr of Mumbai.

The staff were incredibly attentive and kind. The bed was firm, making for a good night sleep. In terms of location, within easy walking distance to many great stops for history and culture. Would recommend staying here

During my next visit to Mumbai I will definitely stay here again. Comfortable and immaculate room, super friendly staff, decent breakfast. And the location, with Fort, Kala Ghoda, Colaba, Crawford Market etc. all within walking distance, is just perfect. Recommended!

Very good location. Fantastic, helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast and free tea and coffee in the afternoon. Would recommend the personal taxi tour of south Mumbai.
