Residency Hotel Fort, Mumbai

From the minute we arrived, to when we checked out, all the staff at the hotel were incredible. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, willing to assist us wherever possible, and they made our stay so enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location in the Fort district, was so clean and tidy, comfortable to stay in, and the breakfast was amazing everyday. Thank you so much for making our trip the best it could be.

The room was adequate in size considering it was in Mumbai and in Fort area. Room was well maintained. Staff was absolutely wonderful - very considerate people. It made the stay even better. Breakfast spread was decent too.

The bathroom is too small and the way the basin is made, makes for extremely restricted movement. And to top it all the bathroom door is as heavy as a vault door so they should really look into that. Overall the bathroom needs to be renovated with regards to the fittings as well.

The staff were very welcoming, always friendly, and greeted you every day. They genuinely looked happy to work here! The breakfast was very good. Providing Indian and continental options. I especially liked the fresh waffles and mango smoothie. Also, free lime water in reception is a welcome touch in the heat. The room was small, but it was modern and had everything you needed for a short stay. Location excellent. Short walk to the main train station or 10 mins to Churchgate. Everything is within walking distance with plenty of food options outside. I would rate this hotel more European 3 star and not 2. I would not hesitate to stay again.

The rain shower head in room 304 was completely blocked with limescale, and the few holes not blocked were spurting water over the shower screen and not the body. Also, the shower screen does not fit the cubicle with a large gap.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They went above and beyond to make us confortable and make sure we had everything we needed! Nice renovated room. Excellent breakfast with Indian food, cereals, cakes, omelets on demand, etc. Perfect location to visit the monuments of Mumbai.

When I booked I received some strange messages from the hotel: first one said "your booking is confirmed, you will pay at the hotel, please don't clic on any link". A few minutes later, I started receiving a lot of messages in different languages with a link telling me I had 12h to pay! I even received something from a very suspicious whatsapp number. I contacted the hotel and they confirmed that my room was booked and that I should not clic on those links.

Quite a small room with no view.

We loved this hotel, the staff were exceptional and this makes it stand out from other hotels. At present they are building a metro station right next door so it looks a bit of a shambles outside but dont despair. I was surprised there wasn't more building noise and some days we would have overslept if the alarm hadn't gone off. It was much quieter than I thought it would be given its central location. The desk staff and others are friendly and helpful, suggesting places to change your sim card, places to eat and getting cabs etc. We thought breakfast was good. Newspapers available daily. The room we stayed in was more than fine but some tlc needed in places, you can get a bigger room if that's what you want. Fridge, kettle, safe all worked fine. Bed was very comfortable. Room cleaning was available every day. The same day laundry worked really well. We didn't do any tours, as there is lots to see nearby. We easily walked down to india gate and the boat across to elephanta, was easy. We walked a lot...to the chatrapati museum, (very good) and also across to chowpati beach and the house gandhi stayed in. Not all in the same day. Walked through back streets. No issues at all. It felt quite a safe city to be in. The hotel staff would have helped if you had any issues

The staff were unfailingly helpful, pleasant and efficient. The breakfast was really good. It is in a fun area of the city in easy distance of main attractions and with some good, reasonably priced eateries close by.

Some rooms are really, really small - my first room was but the desk manager did upgrade me to a larger room when I asked, which was very good of him, and I appreciated it. If you are travelling very light with just hand luggage space may not be a problem but if not do check room size first, or book one of their suites.

Nice, clean room. Good breakfast with very positive waiters. Room was very well cleaned and prepared every day. Our room was in a separate building towards the back - and thus very calm.

The Heritage rooms are large, spacious (see above). Ours only had a window towards a light well. Not an issue when you are outside during the day anyhow. The breakfast room is rather small, but enables to get in contact with other travelers.

Room a bit small.

The staff at the hotel provided exceptional service. Assisting us with travel arrangements to restaurant recommendations, they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of Indian dishes, refreshing iced drinks, and freshly prepared eggs. Additionally, the hotel’s convenient location, just a stone’s throw away from the city’s most iconic attractions, made it an ideal base for exploring Mumbai’s sights.

The AC was not strong enough which was promptly addressed by the staff.

All the staff is extremely friendly. They ensure that your stay is as comfortable as it can be. Kesar specially was very sweet. They helped me get a dress fixed by a tailor and provided us free coffee tea whenever we wanted.

There is nothing to not like here. Their tagline which says Come to us as a guest and leave the rest on us is very true.

From the moment we entered (and even down the street when we arrived), the staff really looked after us, from booking taxis to arranging pre-packaged breakfast due to very early departure. Good to notice the staff is speaking good English (even excellent for the reception). The room was clean and quiet, despite some road work around the corner but never during night time.

Despite good sized room, some of the facilities could benefit from some maintenance (i.e. a curtain not perfectly hanged or a dislogded tile) but nothing that prevented us from enjoying our stay.

Staff were fantastic, breakfast was varied, good quality. Rajesh the consierge was very helpful. Hotel is well positioned for most sightseeing in Mumbai, close to railway stations, sights and entertainment venues.

We stayed in the annexe, behind the lift which was very noisy and best avoided. Rm409. Less mobile persons may find distance from sights far however plenty of taxis outside. Noise from metro construction may affect some rooms.

Surrounding ambience was not good

I had booked a deluxe twin bed room for my father, my baby and myself. Prior to booking I had called to confirm because their website said sold out. Due to the Coldplay concerts & Mumbai Marathon finding a good, reasonable priced accomodation in South Mumbai was next to impossible but Booking.com came to the rescue! When we arrived in the night, the lovely staff upgraded us to their Gateway Suite - a massive lovely room on their top-most floor with views of the beautiful historical buildings across the road. The washroom was clean, well-sized. The room had two big single beds, three work-desks, a lovely seating-lounge, fridge, cutlery & ample storage. The room was spotless, very quiet & calm. The next morning I had to go to Churchgate station but roads were blocked for the Marathon, which began just outside the hotel. Mr. Pushkar, the night manager at the reception (a sweet well-mannered young chap) escorted me till the station, helping me navigate the inner streets. Upon my return I had the delicious breakfast. It was a wonderful spread, with a lot of healthy options - freshly pressed juice, live station for eggs & dosa, various kinds of teas & coffees - we were spoiled for choice! They also have a lovely lounge for free back & leg massages, and a good curation of books. The reception was lovely too, with smiling staff, a small seating area with access to newspapers and delicious fresh nimbu-paani. While there is no designated parking, the hotel staff helped us park our car right outside their property. They have 24*7 staff and security (all very well-dressed & uniformed). They have 3 buildings and we stayed in the main one.

There were many stairs to navigate - to access the breakfast & reading lounge. Also the lift access was only till the 3rd floor, we had to climb an entire flight of stairs to access our executive suite. This was not as issue for us, but would surely be a problem for elderly & those with restricted mobility. While our room was massive, the corridors on the floors below were narrow (but brightly lit and well-designed) but this is to be expected in Mumbai where space is a premium. There is metro work that has been going on for a couple of years outside one portion of the hotel. A quick call with the receptionist helped us locate the alternate access road - a right from the 'Bitcoin Lounge' led us to the wide, clean street outside the main building of the hotel. For us, these were very minor inconveniences.

The staff here are very professional and welcoming. The concierge Rajesh is extremely helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is perfectly situated a short walk from the Gateway to India, museum, Churchgate Station and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus with many excellent restaurants nearby.

We stayed here twice during our recent India trip, first in the main hotel in a standard room and 2 weeks later in a 'Heritage' room in the hotel annex. This is a mid range hotel that provides great value for money in the heart of South Mumbai. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable with large beds and good bathrooms. The reception staff are welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast is good with omelettes and dosas made to order and other items available on a small buffet - again the restaurant staff are super friendly. In respect of location, most of South Mumbai's attractions are within walking distance and the area feels safe even late into the evening. For info, it takes about an hour to an hour 15 minutes to get to/from the airport but this should only cost around 600 rupees. We would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant classic hotel with 5* service - shout out to concierge Rajesh! Best location you could want, stellar breakfast - very happy and will be recommending to friends and family. Really great value for money.

Parts of the room needed some TLC (e.g. couldn’t adjust shower pressure, TV didn’t work). However, it didn’t affect our enjoyment and I wouldn’t let this put you off.

Excellent location, very good breakfast, very polite and nice staff. The room was clean, but small, and the window did not open, so we had to rely on (rather old) air conditioning. One of the two sockets did not work. It was fine for a few days, esp. because of the location, and we could stay again, but less god than other properties we stayed in at other Indian cities at this price range (or less)..

Great location to visit Colaba and the Gateway

Everything was fabulous!

There is a lot of construction work happening there. The only way in at the moment is through the side road. The staff are really good! Our room for Rs10,000 was tiny, but clean. It is an ok experience but would have been a lot better if the construction outside is completed.

We couldn’t imagine any better spot for a short stay in South Mumbai. Perfect location, super friendly and helpful staff and very clean place.

Location is fantastic, everything you’d want to see in south Bombay is a stones throw away. Highly recommended!

Excellent mid-sized hotel in great location in the Fort area. Absolutely outstanding staff - from Gopal and Rajiv in the reception lobby who helped us with ATMs, tailors, airport and other taxis, repairers...you name it. David - the maitre d' of the breakfast room is a saint who manages to accommodate and feed many people at the same time in the small-ish breakfast room. He's a gem as are the other breakfast waiters and the wonderful man who makes superb omelettes and dosas to order - thank you all!

Room was squeezy. Annoying inswinging door to bathroom and walk in shower, causing water to spray on floor. Ensuite not ventilated, rather heavily sealed to prevent moisture leak into the bedroom. Floors had residual grime.

Airco and water pipes were making some noise at night. Received a phising mesdage feom them in my.boojing messages to fill in card details, do not do that, forward it to booking.

I highly recommend this place.The staff was amazing! Rajesh and Keshar and everybody else helped a lot to us, organized everything and always were there if we need. The breakfast was very good and delicious, traditional indian food. Free masala chai tea and coffee available all day, we liked it very much. We always received a warm welcome when we returned to the hotel. The room was a bit old, but it wasn’t a problem because it was always very clean! The bed and the matrasse also very clean. They cleaned the room everyday. Very well located, safe area, the Marine Drive, The Gateway of India, the CST station or the Colaba Causeway just a walking distance. I hope someday we will return.

This is a great affordable option to stay in the heart of Fort in Mumbai. Best bits were the location which is perfectly located to walk to some of the main sights and has some great restaurants very near by. Also the staff were exceptional, they went out of their way to help and support; organising luggage repair, finding late night snacks and negotiating taxis, nothing was too much and they were awesome, really made our stay memorable. Thank you! Rooms were refreshed and water provided daily and the breakfast was decent (limited but tasty options). Room felt clean and secure. Good wifi, area felt safe.

This is an inner city hotel at a reasonable rate, so keep in mind the rooms are quite small. They were perfectly fine for a few days but travelling as a couple with cases we did struggle a bit for floorspace. The shower was quite pokey

Excellent service from the friendliest staff! The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Good coffee. Fantastic location in Mumbai - walkable to lots of tourist sights and there are loads of restaurants and shops nearby.

The mattress was well worn with dips on each side of the bed, so not very comfortable. There was a mechanical noise at regular intervals throughout the night - no idea what it was but if you’re a light sleeper maybe take earplugs! Only minor points though - I’d still recommend staying here.
