Residency Hotel Fort, Mumbai

This is a good choice if you wish to explore the historical part of Mumbai in the South, and provides decent comfort. The staff are incredibly nice, they make all the difference. I'd go back for sure.

Our favourite hotel in India so far - while the rooms are relatively basic, the staff and stellar breakfast really make this place special. Great location. We arrived at 2am and were a little nervous in a new city but were instantly made comfortable.

Bathroom a bit stuffy

Very nice staff ready to answer any queries. Walkable area to restaurants, cafés and bars. Nice clothes shops too 15 min walking distance. Monuments are also at a walkable distance.

The individual room was very small and a bit stuffy. Breakfast was ok but nothing out of the ordinary.

Reception area too small, gets crowded when guests arrive to check in & those leaving. Due to ongoing works on completing the Metro, the hotel frontage is dusty & short of space for Cars/Taxis

The staff was so helpful, kind and always with smiling faces. They were great! I loved them.

There could have been Vegan options for breakfast. And the view of my room was wall, I would expect more sunlight

Great location for Museum, Elefanta Island, Taj Palace and India Gate area, restaurants. Staff were above and beyond excellent. Shower was awesome. Breakfast was fantastic--so many choices and so delicious with personal service. Best Hotel on our 3 week tour of India. It might be weird to say, but the hotel had what seemed to me a special hospitality and respect for women.

The staff & the breakfast were amazing! The staff were an absolute pleasure & made us feel very welcome. Also the location - so central - it was possible to walk to a lot of the local sites.

Our bedroom was tired & could do with some refurbishment. The bathroom door was very heavy & didn't shut properly, the mirror on the door was broken, the wardrobe door was very difficult to open, one of the lights flickered ... however, the food, location & the staff made up for all of this!

Everything was superb. The hotel really surprised me positively. Perfect in all aspects. Loved my room. Reception staff was super friendly and offered to help booking tours for a much lower price than in viator or getyourguide. Breakfast was delicious. Really would highly recommend this hotel!!!! I booked 2 days out of 3 in mumbai to stay the last night close to the airport, but considered to change to 3 days at this hotel as it was soooo good. Just could not cancel the other one anymore.

It’s a little rough around the edges. The room needed some work and our shower gel/soap ran out. But it didn’t really matter!

The hotel has perfect location, rooms are clean and comfy. I went here 2 times, and always slept good. The breakfast is good and well organised. The services are 5 stars: all the staff is perfect, always very helpful and kind, welcoming you from your arrival to your departure, always granting everything you need. In particular the concierge Rajesh is WONDERFUL! Super nice person, extremely helpful and kind, gives you a service that you will not find in any other hotel. If you need something, Rajesh will do it and in the best way, with a smile on his face. His presence is worth the stay! Also, we did the Dharavi slum tour organiser from the hotel, with the guide Hakim, and I highly recommend it. It's very interesting, and Hakim will answer to all your questions with a lot of knowledge and a perfect English. The position and the staff are completely worth the money, go to Residency if you will to stay in Mumbai. When I'll go back in that city, 100% I'll book to Residency.

This was a great location and walking distance to all the main sites. The staff were really helpful and tried to sort out our ongoing trip. Went out of their way to make sure they sorted us out. Water in the room everyday. Great selection at breakfast, lots of options and a chef doing fresh omelette on request.

A very good breakfast, the only thing is that its served at the building next door... They have 3 buildings next to each other. The heritage rooms are exactly like the pics , Very comfortable. The staff are amazing , ( all of them ) especially Rajesh concierge.

Location- surroundings were disappointing for us. Lots of construction etc. But the hotel is well located for visiting Mumbai.

The staff, especially Raz and Peter were outstanding. They were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful and afternoon tea a pleasant surprise. We highly recommend. Excellent value.

The location was perfect for access to Mumbai and the port. The staff were absolutely brilliant especially Rajesh (Concierge) who was absolutely outstanding and made our stay all the better - a true gentleman!

For the price we paid, I would not expect anything more - a really nice hotel, with exceptional staff and great location.

The room itself felt a little bit dated and like it could do with a bit of a refurb/deep clean. The window in the room we had looked straight out onto the roof which was basically a plant room. This meant that staff members were often out on the roof and right outside our window. Because of this, we didn't feel comfortable having the blinds/curtains open as they would have seen directly into our room, which felt like a bit of a privacy issue.

The staff at the Hotel Fort are fantastic - some of the most friendly I have ever met, from the reception to the people serving at breakfast. They have a sign 'You come as a guest and leave as a friend.' This was true. Also the breakfast was good.

On the first night we were given a room directly on the main road, so had to sleep with earplugs.

Lack of dining/sitting space

Staff were exceptional. Checked in slightly early and we’re delighted as long flight . Stayed before and would stay again. Helped us to get to train station in morning as marathon was on. Very kind of you.

The staff were so lovely. I didn’t get everyone’s names but Gopal and the team were really helpful and friendly. The aircon in our room wasn’t working so they moved us to a different room which was bigger and much nicer than our original room, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed our stay but you do get what you paid for so don’t expect luxury. It’s a great option for a short stay as long as there’s no construction work going on 😅

Our original room was very small - nowhere to put your bags on the floor and open them. However, it does state the size of the room on the listing so this is probably more on us than the hotel. The room they moved us to on the 2nd and 3rd night was much better as it was bigger with room for both our suitcases, and it was just nicer in general. However there was construction work going on until 4am in the morning and one of the windows in the room wasn’t sealed properly so it was incredibly noisy. If the windows were sealed properly this could easily be fixed. The only other thing was that at breakfast they didn’t have the room to accommodate everyone so you had to wait. It wasn’t a long wait, maximum 15 minutes, but if they changed the “waiting area” into an extension of the eating area, the problem would be solved.

The staff - to a person, everyone we met was exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Gopal. And very genuine with it. I particularly liked the singing waiter at breakfast time.

An outdoor space/sotting area woukd have been ideal.

The staff are exceptional, they can't do enough for you. Customers service is excellent. Location is also great. I got lovely welcome snacks and when I was waiting on my taxi to leave, they made a lovely cup of tea. Breakfast too is great, loads of choice

Rooms are a little dated, could do with an update, some of the furniture was a bit old. I was in the annex building s can't soeak of main hotel building.. However they are really clean and I slept like a baby, the bed was so comfortable

I recommend this hotel for your stay in Mumbai!

It can be a bit noisy during the day, but Mumbai is a crowdy and noisy city, so it's perfectly ok
