Lovely hotel in central location Staff were extremely helpful Quiet

Very original place, great decoration, great details in everything from the breakfast to the services they provide like massages etc. The location couldn't be better near the Gate of India. The staff is really nice and helpful.

The main seating and eating area is gorgeous. I loved the location and the old building.

The WiFi

Location is unmatched if you want to explore South Mumbai or visit museums and galleries. Most venues are walkable. The cafe on the first floor (where they also serve breakfast) is an ideal place to work, read or catch a breather. The team is very friendly and responsive. Laundry is not very expensive and gets returned in a day, if you need help on that front. The area is a real treasure for foodies - Bademiya, Baghdadi, Dilli Durbar (Indian food), Cafe Mondegaar, Mag Street, Smoke House Deli, The Table - to name a few; plus a little further at Kala Ghoda - The Kala Ghoda Cafe, Knead, Trishna, Faham, etc.

The location was amazing and rooms were clean and decorated well. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly.

If you are tall be aware that the ceilings in the room & bathroom were low.

Everything about the abode was cute, cozy, and nicely done. I really enjoyed the overall vibe and comfort

Hot water wasn’t working during my stay, which was quite inconvenient. I feel the overall stay price can be reduced for one night stay.

It was a reasonable boutique hotel, trying very hard to please. Not a top 5 star but a true gem. It is everything you could ask for at a very reasonable price

It's dense and ventilation is a challenge in the historic building located close to the sea. From someone super sensitive to smells, Abode is a bit dense if you are the sorts pick up allergies even with perfumes, flowers and agarbattis. You can request for dehumidifier (we did) and air purifier (probably) and i'm sure the staff will be happy to help. Overall, a super place.

Well situated hotel with a great team. Room was simple but we'll thought out and very clean. Breakfast was tasty with variety. Nice touch to provide a mobile phone that could be used to contact the hotel in an emergency.

We loved our stay at Abode Bombay. The staff were so attentive and friendly, they made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The location is perfect as it's close to the museums, Taj hotel and Gate of India as well as lots of great bars and restaurants. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, they even provided extras like eyemasks and robes. The breakfast was wonderful with a different selection of Indian foods every day alongside toast and eggs.

The boutique hotel has a vintage vibe. I love coffee and their lobby had a Subko coffee area which was so unique. Location was outstanding, 2 mins walk to the gateway of India, Taj and many famous places are just at a walking distance. You don’t need a cab. Kala Ghoda is also at a walking distance if the weather is nice.

Sometimes there is a lot of outside noise, as the hotel is right on the road.

I had a wonderful time at Abode. Everything was smooth, welcoming and so thoughtfully arranged. The team was genuinely lovely and helpful throughout, especially one team member who went above and beyond with her thoughtful recommendations and made sure I felt safe and taken care of. We didn’t have much time in Mumbai, and one of the highlights of our stay was the experiences Abode offered. We did the early morning market tour, the Dharavi slum tour, and the food tour and can genuinely recommend all three. They gave us such a meaningful glimpse into the city in a short amount of time. Abode strikes that rare balance of being warm, personal and professionally run. If you’re visiting Mumbai and want a place where you’ll feel truly cared for you should definitely stay here. Thank you to the entire team for making this trip so memorable!

I had a wonderful experience staying at the abode, which is conveniently located close to all the historical attractions, making it easy to explore the area. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The place itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a pleasant stay. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary meditation classes, which were a delightful and rejuvenating addition to my visit.

Maybe a little mildewy but it’s an old building in a country w monsoon season. All the hotels in India have a mildew smell- even the 5 star ones.

On reaching the hotel building, was wondering if I had made the right choice, but once I got there and checked in, the perception changed favourably! Cannot find anything to fault the hotel, from the location to the cleanliness, breakfast, service, all met my expectations.. One big change id suggest though, use ceramic, glass or melamine plates for breakfast, the present metal plates (In white and blue!) reminds one of a hospital, bed pan to be more specific :) All else wonderful and would love to stay back again!

The crockery !! Find something that doesnt look like a hospital bedpan !!

Location. Room was comfy, bed was cozy. Shower was nice and hot. Good water pressure.

Maybe a bit of mildew smell and stains in the bathroom but it’s ok because how could an antique building not have these things especially when dealing with monsoon.

Abode is the best hotel in Mumbai! The staff helped us so much during our stay… the hotel is beautiful. We really enjoyed the free meditation and massage. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Really central, close to the Gateway of India. Less crowded than central Mumbai. Room was nice and clean, and high standard for India in my opition. The staff is LOVELY! Most helpful and sweet people we met on our journey, and they will make your breakfast just how you want it!

Excellent location. Quaint and charming heritage building, beautifully restored. We booked the luxury suite rooms as it has an en suite bathroom and we are travelling with our 3 year old. Limited but freshly prepared breakfast. Lots of restaurants around the area. Staff were lovely.

Breakfast was wholesome and tasty. Nicely done.. good variety. Ambience was super as also the decor and colours. Warm and positive vibes.

Room size could have been slightly bigger

Abode Bombay is a stylish property, conveniently located next to the Gateway to India and the famous Cafe Mondegar. The reception is manned 24/7 by friendly staff, there is a lovely coffee bar area which is great for working, relaxing or dining. The attention to detail is great, with lovely touches in the rooms such as personal care kits and a selection of complimentary toiletries. The WiFi is good and fast, and the staff provide visitors with maps as well as options for things like spa services and meditations.

There are a lot of “guides” who hang around outside this hotel who will try and scam you or take you to “their” shops to receive a sales pitch. These people are a menace and should be avoided. In the hotel itself, I stayed in an internal room with no windows - this was fine for my short stay, but the lack of ventilation made the air in the room quite damp and heavy. Also be careful of the low ceiling beams upstairs - I was aware of them, but even at only 5’10 and being careful I managed to bang my head twice!

It has a great location; yet the rooms are quiet and cosy. Very minimalist, well appointed rooms with all amenities. Having Subko on the premises is an added bonus.

The breakfast spread is a little small. And I really wish they would make arrangements to serve a cold breakfast on the 4th floor also.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was tidy, but had everything we needed and was clean. Excellent shower. Will stay here again. Not related to the hotel but do eat at Leopold cafe. Excellent curries, lovely cold beers and a great ambience.

The rainy weather but didn't spoil our stay at Abode Bombay

The property is very well located; has lovely minimalist rooms; super clean…nice large bathrooms. They serve a small, but sufficient breakfast buffet. And they have a mini Subko on site…which has the best coffee.

This particular stay was a bit noisy as they are undergoing maintenance and renovations; but that’s okay.

We loved our room, the bed and bedding were very comfortable, breakfast of such high quality, helpful and friendly staff, excellent location, beautiful common area, hot shower with good pressure. Will definitely be recommending to friends!

It’s the second time I have stayed at Abode Bombay and it never disappoints. Great location, friendly staff, generous breakfast, excellent rooms with beautiful linen, a boutique hotel with so many comforts, do yourself a favour and use it as your base whilst in Mumbai, you will not regret it.

It is near the street, so can be a bit noisy, they do provide ear plugs and it quietens down later at night.

Have always loved staying at Abode and the new section on the 4th floor was fabulous. I’d always love to stay in room 401 now with all the windows and the light seeping through.

Very little to fault other than the occasional low ceiling.

The room was really spacious on the top floor, with lots of light shinning in from the large windows. The breakfast was delicious, really good quality.

The lift was a little precarious, but we became to love it…. With pigeons travelling on the top.

Clean, well organized and relaxing. The property itself is located in an amazing location and inside a historic building.
