Location, staff, service. Restaurants are excellent. The bar area in Miss C was amazing and beautiful.

The Nelligan continues to be my favourite hotel in Montreal. The location is perfect, the staff are so friendly and it feels like home.

There’s a renovation happening, but it wasn’t very noticeable.

Really good location in the old town. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Was only there for one night but would stay again if in the area. Valet parking too which was very helpful.

Always a pleasure to stay here. Luxury at an affordable price.

Current construction issues

The blend of a combined 200 year old structures with today’s beautiful architecture! Its location is close to amazing shopping and restaurants. The reception people are more than accommodating along with restaurant staff that serve you. A call out to Jean, Rad and Amelia and everyone else - you were all most welcoming!

The property was under construction but in no way have an impact on our stay. The Reno is being handled with always giving a great customer experience to their guests.

Excellent service. Our room got upgraded for free. The staff was extremely polite and professional. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is perfect, close to so many restaurants, very walkable and beautiful.

There was nothing to dislike. We had an amazing stay, we will definitely be coming again.

The room was very large and nicely decorated. The staff was amazing and very helpful, the hotel was stylish and in a fantastic location.

The bathroom nice but a little dated and felt underwhelming compared to the rest of the room. The room looked onto a side street and it was quite noisy in the evening from people outside the hotel.

Very comfortable bed and bath, both roomy. Liked the location in Old Port and near Basilica. Convenient access to great restaurants including Mama C, coffee and a bite in reception area. Staff very helpful and friendly, including valet.

Construction (all temporary issues)—finding place, reduced walkway outside,a bit of a maze inside. Need more bars or hooks in bathroom for hanging things Would have liked a second upholstered seat or a loveseat in room

We love the location of hotel being in the center of Old Montreal. Also love the old style quaintness of room and hotel. We stay here every time we visit out daughter.

Sadly was disappointed about outside construction which is no fault of the hotel.

Everything. Terrific location, lovely hotel and very helpful staff.

The people. Everything else could be perfect but if the staff and people who we meet are not what we expect then nothing else matters. We always stay at the Neligan affiliate hotels because of the amazing people who work there. From cleaning staff to restaurant managers and our individual servers, AMAZING!!!

The bathroom did not have sufficient counter space to prepare my wife's daily routine... the ladies appreciate this more than the men do... but equally as important.

Hotel experience was very good. Location was perfect and the room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating.

Construction in the area...and in the hotel...was not great.

The loveliest service, a beautiful restaurant, an enormous bathtub with jets, the spacious and stylish room!

I really loved the property, but the only thing was all the construction going on which is totally understandable

Building works going on nearby prevented me from having breakfast on the hotel’s beautiful roof terrace because the noise was intolerable.

Hotel Nelligan is located in the heart of the Old Town which was perfect for a 3 night stay. The staff were so welcoming, kind and helpful and it was a truly lovey hotel. The highlight was the rooftop terrace and bar for breakfast, dinner and cocktails - we experienced them all! The king room was beautifully appointed, I would happily come again and highly recommend it.

There was nothing to dislike about Hotel Nelligan.

The rooms were a perfect combination of the old and new. Stones and bricks together with the most comfortable beds and pillows. But the best part was the wonderful staff who did everything to make our stay memorable

The staff was exceptional, especially, Ehline and Chanel! Dining experiences were excellent!

Breakfast on the Terrasse was very good and portions were huge!

The construction outside, though not the fault of the hotel. Made things a little difficult.

Everything was so clean and hotel staff very friendly.

Toilet did not flush well. The cap drain in sink was not operational. Otherwise very clean and well taken care of. Waiter at the restaurant was a good server but wasn’t overly friendly. That being said he did his job.

Staff were most helpful and friendly .Location was good but because of road works in the area made it difficult to get to and very noisy . Room was comfortable but room changed because of construction. Stairs to get to room were a bit of a struggle with heavy bags .Breakfast was delicious.

Excellent location, beautiful room, wonderful staff. The Terrase was perfect for a summer night.

Terrasse and location

We were upgraded upon check in. The room was absolutely beautiful, huge floor to ceiling windows. Beautiful jacuzzi bath. Wonderful original stone/brick wall. Beautiful touch with the le labo products. They were replenished each day, which I thought was very generous. Little chocolate with the turn down service was a cute touch

The gym was a bit too stuffy/warm. Opted for a run along the river instead

The Nelligan is simply a superb hotel.

They were not able to give me a receipt for the stay, which was a first for me as a business traveler. Reception said that because I made the reservation via “Booking” the hotel could not issue an invoice, which I found a bit baffling.

The vibe, room size, you could open the windows and the location was amazing. Also a very nice touch that there was complimentary coffee and water in the lobby

They are renovating right now so there is a little bit of a mess but great location and staff. There is 24 hour coffee, tea, water and nibblies. Great place.

4th stay at Hotel Nelligan. Great location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff

Everything! Spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, fantastic location in the heart of the old city. Extremely courteous and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant at the hotel. Would highly recommend!

Rooftop bar was closed for renovation.

Wonderful dinner at the hotel restaurant. Very busy as crowds gathered for the solar eclipse, but always great customer service at front desk.

The Nell cafe was closed due to renovations and the terrace had not opened for the season yet. But once the renovation s are complete the hotel and food choices will be awesome!

Great location in charming Old Montreal, close to many restaurants, cafes and main attractions, highly recommended for first time tourist visit to Montreal. Room was big and warm. Staff friendly and helpful. Love the snacks and drinks at the lobby.

Some parts of the hotel were being renovated while I stayed in Feb 2024, hope the building works to be completed soon. Parts of the common area eg corridors seemed a bit dim, suggest to adjust the lighting.

I keep going back to the Nelligan. I visit three times a year. It’s become my home away from home. It is in the perfect location in old Montreal. A lovely small bespoke hotel. Charming. Beautifully appointed. Restful. Cool. Spotless.

Not a thing. I stay in one of the petit suites. Perfect bed. Best pillows on earth.

It was expensive.

It was a cute, and cozy room. I liked the brick wall.

Our room was accessed by stairs, which was difficult to navigate with our stroller. Also, it made it a challenge to bring our luggage, with the luggage cart. The crib they provided was wobbly, so we didn't use it. I could hear the rush of water through the pipes when other people flushed their toilets.

Excellent location in Vieux Montreal, short walking distance to all of the attractions and restaurants. Recently renovated modern and nicely decorated hotel. We had a very large room (501), possibly larger than most, it was across from the elevator, which was very convenient. Very comfortable US size king bed with 5 large comfortable pillows. Well-designed room features with reading lights and outlets on both sides of the bed. Large desk and sitting chair with ottoman. Large modern newly renovated bathroom with large walk-in shower. Absolutely the best shower ever with a multi-function shower head (body wash, hand-held and/or overhead rain shower with super water pressure and temperature control). Bathroom shelves to place your things on. Convenient valet parking, but pricey, 48 CAD plus 10 tip for one night. I'm not sure what other parking options there are close by; street parking in front of the hotel is by the hour. Easy designated drop off and loading zone in front of the hotel. Very nice restaurant attached to the hotel, we only had breakfast there, the food and service were very good and reasonably priced.

No luggage rack, we were afraid to put our suitcase on the glass top bench at the foot of the bed, although it may be there for that purpose?
