Auberge de la Fontaine, Montreal

Beautiful building, lovely holiday decorations. Visited with the grandchildren- staff was so kind to them, making the stay so pleasant.

The staff was amazing, the hotel is in a historical building, but inside it was shiny and newly renovated, a rare combination. It's two avenue blocks from the street filled with nice restaurants.

Coming from America we expected sausages to be included with breakfast, but totally understand that it's not common in Canada

Room was warm and cozy, and quiet. Great location in Le Plateau neighbourhood - all that we wanted to do was so walkable, so we left our car parked the whole time. Friendly accommodating staff and cozy reception lounge. We'd stay again, for sure.

We were pleasantly surprised at how great our room was. It was very affordable and exactly what we needed as we were only in town for less than 24 hours. The room was very clean and the decor was quite charming.

Parking in the neigbourhood was a bit difficult. But we got lucky finding a spot.

Location was great. Nice little restaurants nearby.

The many stairs that had to be navigated to the top floor with our luggage...but good exercise.

It allowed me to check in after a late flight in the middle of the night.

Stairs were a bit much for me, since I’m a senior. I recommend letting people know.

Staff was amazing, location was great. Breakfast was better than expected. Eventhough their parking is limited, it was easy to find parking in the street.

The dirty (mildew) silicone in the shower.

The location is incredible; it’s in the bougie neighborhood of Montreal but far away from commercial hotels. The bed was super comfortable and the decor was really tasteful and tidy; everything about the place made our stay relaxing.

We were lucky to get one of the free parking spots, but it could be stressful in these residential neighborhoods to try and figure out parking.

Fantastique little hotel! Great location, sparkling clean, nice and helpful staff, we got one of the parking spots behind the hotel. We will be back! Merci beaucoup! ( and La Banquise- great poutine! Local vibe was a 5 min walk! Super friendly staff. Then the fab bar/resto mext door- Copilot!)

Location, location, location. Overlooking Parc Lafontaine, we could walk to brunch or along all the neighborhood streets. Love the area. Nice room! Tiny but it had everything we needed.

Not the hotel's fault at all but at the moment there's massive construction right outside. It shook the whole room. The window's are the old wooden mechanism - they could use a bit of maintenance so they can open and close easily.

Great location close to cafes and restaurants parks and shopping. Easy walk around the area.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to parks, restaurants, shops and easy access to bus. The room and property were clean and comfortable.

The TV is all wifi…took us a while to figure it out.

The location was excellent for our purpose, the suite was very quiet, there were many good and varied breakfast options and the staff were, without exception, charming and helpful. Will be back next time we visit Montreal.

The staff was great. I loved the location because it was in a neighborhood as opposed to the touristy Old Town. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. There is a beautiful park across the street that we did not walk through, but would love to the next time that we visit. The hotel is small and clean. It reminds me of hotels where I have stayed when traveling through Europe.

The front room was a little noisy the first night that we were there. Because we were on the top floor, it was a bit stuffy and when we opened the windows you could hear passersby and traffic. However, when the windows remained closed, it was super quiet.

We had a festive breakfast. The room is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities, milk, coffee and snacks. Location is perfect as well.

It’s a both a blessing and a curse to hike a long stalrcase. The staff volunteered to carry my bag up -kind. That said,, I had to climb the staircase several times on my own, each day. This is a great reminder to continue an active lifestyle and make good food choices!! Haha

Wonderful location near the park and restaurants in all directions; so much to do and see. Friendly staff, quiet rooms, and comfortable beds all made for a lovely stay.

Liked most everything - minor but the bathroom door in our room wouldn’t open all the way (hits the floor).

Some might prefer a more central location, but adjacency to a beautiful park and not far from a wide-range of small shops and restaurants was a bonus

Comfortable bed, friendly staff who were able to accommodate our early check in. Good and extensive breakfast. Location was good. They had parking behind the hotel. The hotel has a nice charm.

Our room was on the third floor which meant a lot of stair climbing as there is no elevator. If mobility is an issue ask for a room on a lower floor.

The staff, and the super helpful receptionist, were very welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The narrow stairs to the too floor can be challenging for some with large luggage. It was fine fir my small roller case.

Difficult to find parking spot

Loved having the balcony overlooking the park. The kitchen was very useful and well equipped. We really enjoyed exploring the area.

Excellent...calm, quiet, super bed and linens...wanted to stay longer just for that.Christopher was kind and helpful. For an exhausted traveler that meant a lot!

Unique urban neighborhood auberge, much more interesting than staying in a chain hotel. Room and bed are comfortable. Lots of places to dine, and staff offer recommendations. Parc Lafontaine across the street is lovely.

Even understanding that there are no elevators, the turns and half-steps on stairs are difficult for older or infirm travelers. Constant construction (though this is true in much of Montréal) makes street access a bit difficult.

Charming hotel in a beautiful old building. The updates and renovations to make it a hotel are tasteful and maintain the charm. The staff are friendly and helpful. The optional breakfast is good and convenient. The location was great for us because we like to walk and explore. Good restaurants and cafes are close at hand.

Climbing the stairs with suitcases is a bit of a challenge but worth it and is keeping with the vintage of the building.

Far from any Metro station.

The staff is very professional and polite. The location of the hotel in Plateau Mont-Royal is perfect! Next to the parc Lafontaine, next to La Banquise and a lot of nice restaurants. The room were comfortable and spacious. Was easy for my old mom to get around.

This was my first time in Montreal and I was so pleasantly surprised at this charming place that was very vintage but with the right amount of modern touches. It was very clean well maintained with lovely artwork on the walls, a nice modern bathroom with brand new sink, toilet and a very roomy tub/shower. Loved the hardwood floors and the windows. It was situated right across the street from a park with restaurants, cafe's and other stores nearby.

The TV in the room had a problem with picture as it was zoomed in too large making half the image cut off. It was also a little warm but with the cool evenings and early mornings just keeping the window open helped to rectify that.

Beautiful hotel in a historic building in a great location, just accross Park La Fontaine, but quiet and secluded. Staff was just amazing. Best ice creams in the city just a block away. We would definitely go back.
