It is a beautiful, historic hotel. Our room was nice and spacious and bathroom was modern with thoughtfully chosen amenities. Comfortable king size bed. And every single person on the staff was warm, welcoming and friendly. Literally the best hotel staff we’ve ever encountered.

We chose to be in Centro Historico because of the amazing things to see and visit. This hotel is right in the heart of it on the zocalo, which is the main square. The Zocalo is surprisingly clean…no litter. But it’s also noisy. We knew that going in but thought the location and the hotel itself were worth it. And they were. It isn’t loud enough to disrupt sleep, but you will hear music and other sounds in the late afternoon and evening. Just get into it—it’s part of the ambience.

Incredible stained glass ceiling and interior. Fantastic views of Zocalo from the terrace. Warm welcome from staff that were very helpful. Welcome drink and lovely surprise in the room on arrival. Huge choice at breakfast. Comfortable lounge for residents to relax in. Great central location.

Despite the hotel being in an older building, the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city with easy access to everything. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable, providing a cozy retreat. The view from the room was absolutely stunning, offering a great perspective of the surrounding area. Overall, a wonderful stay!

The building is absolutely gorgeous, a very special hotel. We were welcomed with champagne and drinks for the kids! The location was incredible to be right off the main square.

The hotel is beautiful and located on the Zocolo. We had easy access to everything.

The streets in front of and adjacent to the hotel's entrance are pedestrian zones and closed to cars. We were very confused when our Uber from the airport dropped us 2 blocks away. If we'd known we could have planned better.

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms were exquisite and very comfortable. The breakfast up on the 4th floor offered breathtaking views. The staff were very attentive. The fitness centre is very good for a hotel too.

This hotel might not suit you for a long stay as the inner city is a bit sketchy at night and a bit touristy during the day.

this hotel was so wonderful what really made it shine was the staff they are truly passionate and we had the best experience, location was perfect for touring mexico city would stay there again!

It was a wow experience from the first moment of our arrival. The iconic lobby, the massive room with a view of the Zócalo, the scrumptious breakfast were all fantastic.

I saw another guest help themselves to the lounge snacks by putting their hand in the jar instead of using the serving tongs. Ick

It is a stunning hotel and located in the heartbeat of Mexico City right on the zocolo. The rooms are spacious, and mine had an incredible view. The beds were comfortable, the shower hot. You will feel like royalty staying here.

I have had amazing concierge experiences from other hotels and unfortunately the Gran seemed lacking in this department this time around. I have stayed here 3 times. The staff are all new.

The only thing to thing about is that it is a bit tricky to get UBER from the hotel and they don't have early taxi service (I am sure if I thought ahead they would have). But still, pick up is tricky to figure out since it isn't at the hotel. The staff helped with this, but plan ahead of time.

The location is perfect!

No car / taxi can come at the hotel because of the proximity to the Plaza de Constitution!

Amazing location right on the Zocalo with super cool atrium (Tiffany glass cover), great roof deck, and very nice staff (who helped with booking excursion to Teotichuan pyramid). Really nice lounge on the main floor with snacks, drinks, coffee. Drawback was that the rooms felt just a little tired and not spotless at this price point. Zocalo location great, but also can be loud until late (after midnight).

Loved the physical building and the location.

We arrived late at night and the doors were locked. We had advised the hotel of our arrival time but were not told the doors would be locked or how to gain access.

The detail and care to rooms

Booking a table at roof top restaurant would read booked but reality it was somewhat empty for 2 hrs while we had there ; we got the room by just showing up so I just didn’t understand .

The assumption we had was that we were going to have a view of the Zócalo, but were told that all room reservations are made that way.

The bell hop Arturo/Armando (not sure of his name) was so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. He showed us his magic tricks! He was a great guy!!!

We reserved two rooms. Both rooms were master suites with “Zocalo view”. One of the rooms faced the corner and was not accurately a room with “Zocalo view”. Before our arrival, I contacted the hotel and asked if either room had a compromised view. I was assured that both rooms did not have a compromised view, when in fact, one did. Although I did not say anything to the front desk, I felt that I should have received a partial refund for that room.

It was very elegant and a great location. Our room had a wonderful view of the Zocalo. The bellboys Abraham and Diego were both wonderful, extremely knowledgeable about the hotel and its history. They expertly worked the old-fashioned elevators. They made our stay very special.

Beautiful historic hotel with amazing suites. The reception staff and concierges are very friendly, professional and sweet. For example, we had a bit of an unpleasant experience at the rooftop restaurant. When we voices our concerns the staff took us very serious and really appreciated that. Recommend anyone staying here as you are very close to multiple amazing museums in CDMX, lovely food and a one-of-a-kind hotel. Looking forward to come back one day!

Minor thing during check-in was that the room was not ready at check-in time which was a bit inconvenient because of a reservation we had at a museum later. This could be maybe resolved if the hotel would asks guests what time they plan to arrive and if there is anything special they need to be aware of. The front desk was pushing for the room to be ready and we made our reservation. So no biggie. Good thing to be aware of is to know the area is very busy. So plan accordingly with cabs and such. One small thing which didn’t bother us at all, but just stating it here for the hotel. We booked a one kingsize bed but got two separate beds. We fit in one, so no problem but others might find it inconvenient.

Heritage property at the historic centre. Lobby is grand. Terrazza restaurant has great views. Food is great.

The location right on the main square the Zócalo. Lovely roof top breakfast buffet overlooking the square. Great choice of food. The Tiffany glass roof. Staff were friendly and helpful and the Concierge was great and recommended places to see and two great restaurants.

Absolutely beautiful property, each member of the staff offered exceptional service with a smile, the guest room accommodations were very clean, the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, the bed linens were high quality, spacious closets, spacious bedroom & spacious bathroom … oh and the TV size is HUGE (we watch morning news while getting ready). We were greeted with champagne at check in, given a welcome treat in our guest room of delicious chocolates with personalized writing on the plate. What a beautiful presentation. Also they gave us complimentary wine in our room and a welcome note card and called to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything. WE WERE TREATED LIKE ROYALTY. Wow. The experience of staying here was the best ever. We will always remember it. It brings a smile to my face! LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL…ESPECIALLY THE STAFF

Excellent location, looking into the plaza Zocalo. Floor to ceiling windows which open up. Automatic shades, which are very nice with an electric fireplace for great atmosphere. Room was good size and that was very comfortable. Hotel was very iconic with one of the oldest elevators, which is very ornate. Circular stairway, which takes you back to an era gone by. Many people stop in just to take pictures of the lobby,which is beautifully decorated. The ceiling is all stained glass in a dome shape.. must be admired during the day for the full effects. Doorman with a red coat and hat. There is a chairlift if necessary because you must climb a few stairs to get up to the main lobby. Wonderful breakfast with omelette station, lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese , breads, beef and chicken, Mexican specialties….buffet style, located on the terrace looking out to the Zocalo. There’s always lots of action in the plaza and can be a bit noisy at night but all the noise does stop between 10 and 11 pm…

Noisy in evening… And if there’s a festival going on, can be noisy in the morning…

We had a spacious room with a lovely view of the Zocalo. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We were greeted with champagne, a delicous chocolate dessert and wine for our room. The hotel itself is majestically beautiful with amazing Tiffany stained glass and wrought iron architecture. It is unequalled.

The room overlooking the plaza was unbelievably noisy because there were mariachi bands and public speeches The only time it was quiet was midnight to 5 am I would definitely have liked an inner room if I’d known t would be so noisy!
