The room was a nice size, the staff were extremely friendly. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean.

The cost of the parking. I could have had a couple more pillows, they scrunched down and we had two each but I would have liked the option of more.

Huge fridge and full kitchenette with lots of cupboards. Comfy beds. Good block out curtains.

Very nice place to stay. Modern and comfortable rooms, great location walking distance to train station and shops. Great value for money

location was excellent. Everything very close by. Spacious room and fantastic hot shower. No noise at all. Nice big TV. Restuarants everywhere.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The join in the single beds was unpleasant.
Staff took ages to check in and out. Lifts were very slow
Parking was very expensive. No Toothbrushes in rooms

Check in easy and staff lovely. Location fab for eating out and access to train station and Hertz car hire. comfy rooms.

Location couldn't have been better for my visit. The Olsen prints throughout were a joy. Had lunch in the Spoonbill and it was delicious. The room was a good size.

The mixed messages about concern for the environment. For example: the notice on the table in the room inviting the guest to forgo room cleaning was not prominent enough; I only noticed it on my last morning. Also, there was no recycling bin in the room or a communal bin on my floor.
In regards to entertainment, I was surprised that Netflix was not provided free of charge to the guest nor the other apps.

As well as being a well run and very pleasant Hotel the proximity to South Yarra station is a real bonus.

The staff were impeccable. Kind, approachable and willing to go beyond to make me comfortable. I did not expect the little extra gifts of chocolate and bath sals delivered to my room. very lovely! Nice big room and really enjoyed the swimming pool which I had all to myself!

The restaurant kept me waiting so long for breakfast on my last day, that I had to leave before service.

I stayed at The Olsen for the first 2 nights of my 6 weeks Oz vacation in January 2026 and was so impressed that I booked again for my final night earlier this week. The perfect way to start and end a vacation. I had stayed at The Cullen for the time on my vacation last year and was very happy with my suite and equally impressed by the level of service. A friend suggested I try The Olsen this time. All the staff were extremely friendly and the level of service was impressive. In particular, Jess, who went the extra mile to ensure my stay was enjoyable. I had ungraded to a balcony suite on my first visit in January and requested the same suite for my final night. Jess was able to kindly oblige with my request so once again, I left The Olsen a happy traveller and will definitely be returning ... hopefully to Suite 102 with the swimming pool conveniently situated right opposite my suite! Thanks to everyone at The Olsen. I wish you all a happy and safe 2026. JCR

Great location

From the moment we walked in to check in we felt so very welcomed. The lovely lady behind the counter was absolutely amazing, even fielding calls from a guest who was shall I say unruly on the phone! To the lolly bar and icy poles on arrival to just the sense of being in a lovely hotel it was clearly evident how relaxing and enjoyable this stay was. The rooms were wonderful and well laid out (for a studio). I have never stayed at the Olsen but I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately there was limited parking however straight across the road there was another carpark with plenty of room and weekend rates.

We loved the property! It was clean and very comfortable.

The bathroom basin was damaged could do with repair and the bathroom door scraped on the floor needs re aligning

The bathroom door doesn't provide much privacy or sound proofing. Also, the door did jam slightly.

Our room was quiet and comfortable

The one thing that was disappointing was the service of our room we were out for the day and it hadn’t been done and I had to ring house keeping . The other was I asked for early morning wake up call I did not receive it . They both could be improved .
