Lovely room and stay as usual. Lost count of how many times I’ve stayed here. Staff amazing. Free mini bar always nice. And room massive. Lovely !

Tbh, the restaurant offering is always a little strange. I can’t say I look at the menu and say “wow we really should eat here”. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, in fact the food is great, it’s just not a stand out menu offering. We ended up going to an Italian along the road which was incredible. I just feel that someone needs to sanity check the menu and be less niche

Unfortunately, we arrived late and had to leave early - we would have loved to spend more time at the hotel, as it was gorgeous!

WOW what an amazing hotel. Absolutely beautiful - the design, the spacious and luxurious rooms, the shower amenities. We didn’t want to leave! The staff was welcoming and had amazing recommendations and they even brought the pizza we ordered - to our room!

Just one point for improvement- when we came for breakfast at 9:40 (ends at 10) we didn’t have a lot to choose from, so either arrive earlier or maybe they can top up so there’s enough for latecomers.

My Son thought the breakfast was too soggy being stored in the water type servers especially the hash browns

The beautiful historical building. Large and modern rooms.

The photos don't do The Kimpton justice but it's hard to capture the magnificence of the building in a few shots. My advice if you stay is to wander round and explore the building as each corridor, room and staircase reflects an eye for detail that should be celebrated.

Good breakfast and very convenient location. Helpful staff. Very pleasant environment.

The bar does not have a cask ale (real ale). This meant I had to find a pub for an evening drink.

room was great. The bath was nice but I'd have preferred a shower for one night with my kids but it was a lovely room , as was the whole building and the location was ideal for us whizzing around the city centre. The breakfast was great too

Amazing service from all staff. Free upgrade to the room was above and beyond and most welcome. The balloons were there as requested on arrival and also a bottle of wine which was a nice extra. Awesome building and room. The social hour was a pleasant extra. Breakfast was delicious.

Air conditioning in the room... it was hard to find the control and then operating was hit and miss - didnt seem to work at first. It was too cold on arrival! When returning to the room on one occasion the interior security latch stopped us getting back in the room! Only way to re enter the room was for an engineer to hammer off the latch! Breakfast was delicious but let down because it was a little cold!

We have stayed here a few times. Great location and great staff.

The hotel was amazing, my 9 year old absolutely loved the beds and the yoga mat. We couldn't fault the hotel at all

The only downside was our room was at the front of the hotel so we heard all the noise from the pub opposite (until 3am) we would have preferred a room away from the road especially with having a 9 year old with us.

We loved staying here! The staff are so attentive and helpful, it was really affordable for how clean and comfortable the room is. The location was also great for walking around the city.

Beautiful hotel

Gorgeous building with utterly excellent rooms and service. Everything with our stay was utterly faultless - the boxed rose I requested for my partner was beautiful, the room decor was thoughtful and inkeeping with the building's heritage while remaining practical, and walking around the beautiful tiled interiors and staircases really did feel like an experience. This is really a very, very special place. We're already hoping to return.

Finding the room was a bit of a maze and it would be helpful if the lifts had numbers to help navigate around the hotel.

The entrance is beautiful, so impressive to walk into. We loved the tiling running throughout the corridors and our bedroom was roomy and comfortable.

Interesting historic building with lovely period features, but also excellent modern facilities and features as I'd expect from the Kimpton.

Slightly confusing layout of the rooms/wings (although the building itself is definitely part of the attraction of staying here!) which could have been explained a bit more clearly on checking in.

The hotel is located near to the city center. Employees were well trained, polite and always smiling. The hotel was comfortable.

No drop off zone (we received two fines in the post as a result of dropping off / collecting our bags, as it is apparently a bus lane only - directly at the front of the hotel).
