Incredible hotel , like staying in an art gallery. Staff attentive and always going the extra mile. Perfect location, couldn't recommend it enough!

Beautiful architecture, high quality interior with helpful friendly staff and service. The onsite florist was beautiful, alongside the door staff as they gave a sense of reassurance.

We got lost via the different lifts and couldn’t access our room using the lift from the bar and the stairs. The bathroom light didn’t always work, we thought this was related to the keycard but the other lights in the room worked.

Great location, right next to Palace Theatre, opposite Oxford Road train station, around the corner from NCP carpark. Many restaurants with 15 minutes walk. Fabulous grade II listed building with original features. Very friendly and efficient staff

Clean and sophisticated, beautifully designed

The reception area was absolutely beautiful However the hall way to the rooms and the room itself is basic. Nothing wow about it. The price I paid was not worth it. The breakfast was average not much of a selection for kids and vegetarians.

We weren’t advised at the time of booking that there was a pride event on, and it was very loud and took away the usual ambience of the bar etc I also reported the sensor light outside room 103 needed adjusting, on the first night I fell down the stairs as I couldn’t see them, the light came on too late

Food was great! The location is unbeatable and you can find the hotel from anywhere due to the clock tower, that was pretty high. The bed was comfy and the toiletries were great. And I absolutely loved the large windows and ceilings.

It was a bit noisy from other guests; they often left some trash in the hallways.

The hotel is well located and fun to be in. Breakfast was excellent. The room had all we needed including WiFi, complimentary snacks, tea and coffee, bath and shower.

The finish in the room could have been better (the toilet seat didn’t fit well).

Perfectly located right next to Oxford Rd station and the theatre which we were going to on a girls trip. We were upgraded to a really nice room and it was very clean. All the staff were lovely.

From start to finish our stay was exceptional. We received and incredibly warm welcome from Gabriella who ensured that our stay was beyond expectation. The hotel is exquisite, full of heritage and beautiful features. The room was spacious and luxurious. The best nights sleep I've had in any hotel. At breakfast we were greeted by Fran who was bubbly ,friendly and helpful. We will definitely be planning another stay as soon as possible.

Fabulous hotel in a prime location, near to the station, shops, bars & restaurants. It was a grand hotel, full of history and corridors galore to explore. The rooms were large, very comfortable and beautifully decorated, although kept their Victorian image. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, offering a wide range of hot & cold food, set out in a buffet style. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception check in & out was very quick & straight forward. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly stay there again.

I used to live in Manchester and I knew the charm of this hotel from frequenting its ground floor bar - but back then I assumed the rooms must have been outdated. Then I’ve heard from friends that it has been refurbished, and booked it for my return trip. Rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone was kind and helpful. Also, even though I knew that already - the unique beauty of this Victorian building was simply wonderful. I’m glad I’ve chosen here over Midland hotel.

Lovely big room. Exceptional high ceilings reflected the era the hotel was based in with really lovely architecture inside as well as outside. Bed so comfortable and facilities were excellent. Everything you would need. Staff were lovely. Was amazed to be told a free drink was available between 5 and 6pm which included kids. I was there with my 3 grandchildren. There was a table top football table which the boys loved and a room which showed a film on a big screen for the kids. Food was excellent. Kids menu was varied enough. Breakfast was great too. Hot or cold but continental in basic room and breakfast price. All in all very central hotel. A very pleasant stay.

Slightly more varied menu for evening meal with more vegetables but the menu as is was all very nice.

Luxurious hotel in a great Oxford Street location. Humongous lobby with a massive metal horse sculpture. We enjoyed the bar in The Refuge, with its comfortable ambience. Would recommend the lunchtime small/large plates menu. Lovely staff.

Our room had a smart control panel that emitted a pulsating light through the night. The smart controls seemed to be saying that our room was too cold. Increasing the temperature on the panel didn't change anything. Only stayed for two nights, not worth making a fuss and we didn't ask about it.

Excellent hotel, lovely room, amazing decor. Great staff. Loved the 5pm drinks.

The staff were exceptionally nice when we arrived - they helped us get a room before check in time which was so lovely as my husband and I had been travelling for over 24 hours and needed a bed to nap. The room was so clean and lovely. Concierge was quick to bring us extra coffee and chocolate biscuits. Finally, we really admired the historic decor and vibe of the hotel.

The building is absolutely wonderful The bar is so good we nearly didn't want to go and explore Manchester! Quality if the bedding was so comfortable. There was a delay checking in, but we were taken to the bar for a complimentary beverage, which was most welcome! We appreciated that there was a wedding going on and hotel fully booked. If we had more time we would have loved to try the restaurant, which also looked stunning!

Very expensive, £250 for a double, I upgraded from a single but I wish I hadn’t.

Had a lovely stay for 3 nights , bed being turned down and lavender sleep mist on the first night was lovely surprise when returning to our room later in the evening. Breakfast was very nice and always lots of food and servers attentive. Reception staff were lovely and helpful as was the concierges.

Breakfast a little chaotic and unorganized for a hotel of this status. Eg when seated by front of house…. No introduction to the buffet or fresh cooked menu…. Nobody came to ask if we wanted coffee… had to flag people down… sounds worse than it was but it wasn’t a smooth operation like the rest of the experience…(reception, bar, room service, checkout etc etc)

The room was at the back of the hotel and near the the loading area and railway, so it was quite noisy throughout the day/night, but we did have a cheaper room so it is understandable.

excellent facilities. a big easily-confusing hotel, but the staff are excellent. the instructions, directions, friendliness is superb. we had a great time. location is unbeatable. cocktail bar is lovely and so are the cocktails.

The entrance is beautiful, well the whole building is! Great location. Lots of lovely little touches when you stay here and the staff go above and beyond. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and the extra touch of the social hour 👌🏼

A few cobwebs left in place. Overall, I don't feel like the hotel is worth the price point. There are other hotels in Manchester which offer a similar level of luxury/ service for half the price

Noise. We had a very noisy room. It was road side and pubs below. Lots of shouting.

Our room was big, comfortable and quiet. The whole hotel was very elegant. We came by train so the hotel was very convenient for Oxford Road Station. We had drinks in the bar which was a nice space.

It would be great if the breakfast options were more adaptable in price. I'm not a big breakfast eater and I don't want to pay £22 for a coffee and some fruit because I would not take advantage of the other food items on offer.

Pretty much everything, but the building itself is glorious . The hour of free drinks for residents was also almost new one for me!

The room was large and airy, with 2 large comfortable beds. There was a little nespresso type machine so I was able to get my morning kickstart and the mini fridge was handy for keeping our drinks cool. They also provided a dogbed and water bowl for our dog. The only (very minor) niggle I had with the room was that there were a couple of steps just inside of the room's door.
