ABode Hotel, Manchester

Very comfy and large bed. Size of room and bathroom. Dyson fan.

Very hot room which was uncomfortable at times. Broken Aircon and lift. Lack of facilities such as mini fridge, coat hooks and umbrella holder/stand.

Unable to turn off the radiator, room was very hot and the air con machine didn’t really help

Lift wasn’t working at all from check-in to check-out. Whilst not officially diagnosed with a disability, my wife has a knee injury and walking up/down to the 3rd floor was of some difficulty.

Cool Building

Couldn't get the TV or the cooler in the room working - lifts not in service , breakfast service very slow...food ok.

Loved its quirky and individual character and that it was not your run of the mill accommodation…..location was brilliant, very central for shopping and for travel to the Etihad Stadium where we went for a concert……also the arranged offsite parking was very close to the hotel and discounted for residents of hotel on registering your car on arrival……..would recommend this hotel for a stay in Manchester and would definitely stay there again.

The only one downside during our stay was that the lift was out of order over the whole of the weekend and we were staying on 3rd floor and there didn’t appear to be a back up if you were not able to do the stairs.

Dining, waited 15 mins to take the order, then had to stop one of them to order, coffee and orange came quickly but the VERY long wait for food the coffee was COLD. The hash brown did not order, the knife was so blunt could not cut the burnt toast. 2 of the 3 eggs came poached OK. The table next to mine was not cleared after my 30min+ breakfast, NOT good enough, others also not cleaned. The VERY low camp bed was a surprise, normal bed PLEASE

Location. Fantastic old building. Room size. Great shower. WiFi coverage good.

Breakfast was poor. Poached eggs were not cooked properly- snotty! Bread not toasted enough. We were the only guests in the restaurant at the time so there was no reason why. No fridge in room, minibar or complimentary water.

The hotel has a nice authentic vibe with all the vintage elements in the room. We really enjoyed the decor. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Super location near the train station

The heating system made a constant noise all night long.

Recommended car park was pretty poor! But not managed by the hotel.

I liked the bathroom and the style of the building. Nice brasserie, Ala cart breakfast which was delicious.

Located 200 metres from Piccadilly station, ideal location.

Unfortunately the lift was out of order at time of stay and we were on the 3rd floor.

Very styleee. The person (a tall male) who checked us in was very attentive and helped us several times with carrying our heavy bags up the stairs along with calling us a taxi and giving us helpful tips for our first visit to Manchester.

It would have been good to have a small bar fridge. This is the first time we’ve not found a fridge in a hotel room. To be honest we didn’t even check when booking because we thought they were a give in. It is our first time in the UK though so maybe this is typical?

The location

Garbage under the bed. One towel provided for 2 people. Broken elevators.

The bed was super comfy, and the location was so ideal- being close to the city, yes it was rather noisy, but that’s what you expect when you’re located in the middle of the city centre.

Breakfast service was a little slow and my breakfast was not put through which was a little bit of a bummer, but I got my breakfast in the end, which was delicious! Also, the lift was not working at the time, so climbing up to level 4 was a bit tricky at times, especially after a few glasses of wine

We didn’t stay here. We were moved to MalMaison, a sister hotel, because the lift wasn’t working at Abode.

MalMaison was very dark. Difficulty seeing.

Lovely building and the receptionist was very helpful.
