ABode Hotel, Manchester

4 star accommodation in the city at 3 star prices mid week.

2nd time we've been and it's to hot , air conditioning not working and no opening windows which makes it a bit stuffy.

Location was good.. breakfast was good

The bed was a good size but very noisy and wooden part around it kept banging into

We liked the spacious, well appointed room.

Great room. I loved the size, aesthetic and cleanliness. Location spot on. Really interesting room. Loved the bathroom. Loved the decor and bed. I had to leave early, and kitchen kindly made me my chosen breakfast before they were supposed to open. I would absolutely stay again if travelling in Manchester.

I have so little negative to say. Avocados were lemonned rather than fresh, but perhaps I am spoilt as an Australian to always have fresh avocados :)

£7.50 in a taxi to co-op live. Hotel is a 2min walk from car park situated in centre

Restaurant prices are too expensive and not a very good menu

Young guy on reception on the Sunday was great, a good asset!! Close to Piccadilly, so easty for the train. Stayed on a Sunday for Footy at Utd, rates very good as its was Sunday.

Stylish characterful hotel situated within a short walk to the station and walkable or a short tram ride to the city centre. The bedroom was light & airy with a large comfortable bed & great pillows. A fully tiled en-suite bathroom with an excellent large walk in shower and toiletries. The brasserie doubled up as a breakfast room & a bar in the evening.

The breakfast room was very well laid out and had the potential to be excellent. Unfortunately not all of the waiting staff were fully conversed with breakfast service as on ordering 2 full vegetarian breakfasts and coffee was told neither was possible. I chose an alternative breakfast, although enjoyable, would not have been my first choice. I overheard an adjoining table order a vegetarian breakfast and coffee with a different member of staff & was dismayed when this was delivered to the table. I queried this to be told the other member of staff did not usually serve breakfast. I have addressed these issues in a request from the hotel manager but have yet to receive a reply.

Great location and room was comfortable. Facing the main street but not too noisy on a weekday evening. It's great that there was an iron, fan and hairdryer.

Room was a bit too warm, windows couldn’t be opened.

The staff were fantastic, very attentive and helpful. Particularly the man on reception when I checked in (didn’t catch his name but 9pm on 26 Feb) he had a great manner. Bed was lovely and comfortable!

Very small thing but the breakfast was cold. Very good flavour but unfortunately I think the avocados had been in the fridge so made the rest of the plate cold too.

Location is brilliant. Have stayed here a couple of times and the staff both at the front desk and in the adjoining restaurant are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

unfortunately the brasserie was not opened for dinner that evening - that was the only very minor thing. There were many other places to eat nearby so it was fine.

Great location and the room was very clean. Lots of nice added extras such as Bluetooth speaker and Dyson fan. My husband asked for an extra pillow which was delivered to our room 5 minutes later.

Couple of things in the room looked dated and in need of fixing but nothing major.

Odd it wasn't busier

Easy to get too, good access to parking and discounted. Great location to get to other areas of Manchester Friendly and polite staff.

The rooms were nice, but there were bits of ware and tear, such as damaged wooden floor, and broken toilet seat. Our room was located right by a service elevator and/or laundry room so was a bit noisy late afternoon.

Noisy heating system and tall manual curtains made it difficult to get a good sleep

Excellent location very close to the station. Very quiet. Was able to check in early. Spacious room with very nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Problem with no heating was quickly fixed by visit from maintenance.

A shame no-one noticed the heating wasn't on before we arrived. Couldn't speak to anyone at reception by phone as only one person on reception but they did help when I went downstairs to talk to them.

Staff are nice and friendly, the room was large. Lovely breakfast. Great location - handy to explore Manchester

Noisy room (think there was a mechanical plant room next to the room so noise all the time in the room) Wash hand basin too small, had to fill the kettle from the glasses. No coat hooks for outdoor coats in the room. Public areas looking a bit tired, a lick of paint needed.

Soundproof was bad, could hear a lot of the outside and cleaner doing the room next to ours in the morning

Location was great, room was comfortable but the breakfast was just OK and quite expensive.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Although I was a little disappointed as stated on my request email that we were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday and nothing , not even a birthday wish in.the room.

Love the overall design merging the antique element in your hotel. Breakfast was great! Staffs are helpful and nice.

1. The light in the corridor were not ´ON’, which created a discomfortable experience. 2. Those sockets inside the rooms are too far for us to reach, usually peoples just taking a 1meter cable for charging the phone. This time, I found the sockets not close to the bed, and I have to plug on the one behind the bedside table, also close to floor level, that’s really inconvenient for customer.(Happen in Rm202) 3. Inside the bathroom, the shower gel and body cream holder, should have use a stronger waterproof tape of installed properly. I stayed in two nights with my colleagues. Both Rooms numbers 111 and 202, have the holding brackets fall off with the heavy shower gel bottles. Which causing a bad experience. 4. The width of the shower Glass too short, when i take showers, most of the water can spread out to the dry floor. 5. There have no drinking water bottles during my stay in Rm202. 6. The Pillow seems not very clean.

Nice double room and quiet on the 4th floor at rear of the hotel. Great central location for station and pubs. 30 minute walk to Manchester City stadium. Excellent breakfast. Would use again.

The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The staff are all lovely.

No plug next to the side of the bed closest to the bathroom. The TV in our room was very old but we made do.

The room was too hot- in January! Food in the restaurant was terrible.

Didn't have

The staff here were highly helpful. I left a thermal cup there after my stay. So I had to contact them via Booking.com and ask if I could collect it 3 days later. The answer I got was yes, and I did collect it. The cup was carefully wrapped up. I know how hard it is for a hotel to preserve things left by customers, and I genuinely appreciate it.

The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are very spacious.

There is no insonorisation in this hotel. You can hear a loud noise every time someone opens or closes a door. And I could hear the neighbors…also, the coffee machine was broken at breakfast.

I love this hotel, location, beautiful building, lovely rooms and fabulous staff.

The room was so warm, couldn’t change the temperature. Couldn’t complain since it was so cold outside. We also had a drip through the ceiling in the bathroom which woke us up and as it was through the light fitting we couldn’t shower before we left. Again not a huge complaint as I love this hotel.

Staff excellent

Bed was massive and very comfortable.

Sadly the poor or old windows in the building meant our nights sleep was often disturbed by the noise of the city outside the building.

The shower was great and the bed was super comfy. The breakfast at the property was great.

The noise from both i side and outside the room as there was no sound proofing and the room didnt have a deadlock. As a solo female traveller that didnt make me feel too safe.
