Hotel Born Palma, Mallorca

It’s a very beautiful place; the room was excellent and well equipped. The staff were very attentive and accommodating, aiding early arrival and departure.

The property is in a very traditional style and the setting is stunning. Right at the heart of the old town.

The courtyard bar wasn’t open during our stay but this was minor.

Location was convenient and central. The property is beautiful and the breakfast had traditional items with a little bit of something for everyone that you can enjoy in the courtyard. The building is old so there are no lifts, but the staff is more than accommodating to help with bags to and from your room.

Good breakfast

Room was on the smaller side, and I didn't feel that the quality of the room reflected the price.

The building and property were lovely. Old but with modern touches. Our very large bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was easy to use. Breakfast was good and enjoyed sitting in the courtyard to eat it.

The flooring. I’m not sure what it is, ie engineered wood, but it makes such a noise when walking on it. And I was woken at 0620 when someone walked past our room four times in a row and so that was the end of my sleep.
The other thing to note if not already mentioned on their site is that there is no lift.

Our room was facing into a small courtyard of generators with windows covered in white film so you couldn’t see out. Even though no view it is nicer to see outside than be blocked. But room was very large and comfortable and may be the only option for a triple room

Location, room (size, decor and comfort) and general ambiance were all excellent. Reception very helpful for arranging taxis and storing luggage…

Breakfast was the only disappointment for such a high-quality hotel with an average selection of buffet food and overworked staff…

The architecture and interior is really beautiful and even though we didn’t use the courtyard (it was raining and they were updating the furniture) it looked like it would be a lovely spot to have breakfast. The staff were exceptional and we can’t say enough about how lovely they were.

Everything was pretty perfect. It would be good if they had an elevator for more accessibility but it wasn’t a problem for us.

Very spacious, comfortable room.

Lots of noise from outside restaurants emptying bottles/rubbish after midnight and taking deliveries around 6am. Also, noise (like dragging furniture around - cleaning?) at early hours. Despite the room being very nice, had poor sleep every night.
Shame there was no bar too.

Beautiful building in a fabulous location. The gentleman serving at breakfast was excellent- very efficient and helpful. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space and the bathroom was very clean.

AirCon leaked water down onto the console holding the coffee machine, cups and glasses and all over the floor. The floorboards were lifting at the edges so it has happened before.
Pillows were overly soft.

Central hotel, staff very helpful on reception. Lovely building. Good size room. Quiet.

There was some black mould around the shower. The air con didn’t work, we asked reception the following day and they came and fixed it straight away - it had been set incorrectly. Two TVs and one didn’t work at all (to watch the news in bed) we mentioned to reception but it didn’t get fixed.

At breakfast no one around to help, we wandered about not know where anything was. We had to find staff to ask for a few things. Be warned the breakfast is offered until 11am which sounds amazing but when they run out of food they do not replenish. We went down at 3 different times earlier and later and found the same thing each day. Once the egg or sausages etc had gone that was it!

My husband burned his hand badly at breakfast whilst trying to get something out of the hot trays using tiny tweezers - we did not report this and we should have, his hand is red raw!

The receptionist on our arrival was very helpful and friendly and told us our room was ready early which was a huge bonus. It meant we could settle in and get out to see the city much earlier than we expected.
The room was large, though the lighting could have been improved.
The bed was large and comfortable.
The location of the hotel was ideal and we were able to walk to many tourist destinations.

The coffee machine at breakfast was slow and inadequate. There should have been at least two machines working to cope with the number of people who wanted to use it.
The hot food was cold and the service disappointing.

Staff very helpful. Gorgeous building and lovely room with a separate seating lounge. I very much liked the fact that my room was cleaned every day without my requesting it. Excellent location. Good coffee machine that worked and I loved the refilled water bottle every day. I felt that people cared. Also, I asked directions and was given a free map of the city and told exactly where to go. The first night was rather cold but I found two extra quilts in the cupboard which kept me nice and warm thereafter.

I don't understand why at age 68 (my birthday indeed) I was put on the Fourth Floor with no lift available. I must say that staff immediately offered to take my luggage up and when I arrived at checkout they asked if I needed any assistance. Also, and this is not the fault of the Hotel I was not permitted to pay my accommodation bill in advance. This led to problems on arrival with lack of reception and Goodness knows what else. Please, Booking. com allow those who wish to pay in advance to do so.

Room comfortable. Hotel very traditional and atmospheric. Location is first class.
