I liked the room I was given. It was on a quiet floor and it was a great place to rest after a long journey to get to Madrid. I rented 2 rooms since I was traveling with my adult daughter and her boyfriend. I especially liked the bathroom. I like that the toilet had its own private door. I have actually stayed at this hotel back in 1999 but it wasn't renovated as it is now. I like this hotel because of the location. It was easy to get to the museum row as well as the Puerto del Sol and Plaza Mayor neighborhoods.

I thought the breakfast offering was more expensive than usual so we didn't have breakfast there.

The room was not sound proof so I could literally hear the movements from next door. As a light sleeper, this disturbed my sleep

Location, the hotel is just off Gran Via and Sol and easy walking distance to all the main Madrid attractions.

The room was stuffy when we first walked in, but when aired out it was ok.

Good beds

It’s a very good hotel. The location and staff are AMAZING. It’s located near everything, we just needed 3 minutes to be at Gran Via by walking, and 15 minutes to be at Salamanca or El Retiro park by walking as well. Also, you can find a lot of nice restaurants and cafes, so it’s at a GREAT location indeed! Now let’s talk about the staff. In my opinion, they succeeded in choosing their staff. They are really AMAZING, SMILING, HELPING…etc. I really want to thank every one of them, and I can remember some names, Khalid, Javier, and Marco. If I will come to madrid again, I might stay in this hotel again only because of the location and staff.

There are 2 things I didn’t like, I should say that they won’t let me not staying here again, but I will mention them anyway for those who care. First, I was staying at the 1st floor, so I could hear everything from the streets, which was a bit annoying at my first night, because I was tired and couldn’t sleep well. It might be different if my room was at a higher floor. Second, the lighting. It was really bad, like I couldn’t do my makeup very well, and I couldn’t see my outfits on the mirror, so ladies if you have an important day that you need to do a good makeup, then it would be better if you bring a ring light or something else😂, because I needed a good makeup for my brother’s graduation ceremony, but unfortunately I couldn’t made it because of the bad lighting 😔.

Excellent roof terrace for drinks and view, breakfast very good with reasonably good selection. Staff is very helpful from reception, bellboys, restaurants and customer service.

Little lift was not working for 1st few days for my daughter's wheelchair, was going in &out from goods in door. Lift Fixed 2 days before our departure.

The rooftop, which claims to be part of the hotel, operates as a private place, open to public. While a I do understand that it's fine I was dissapointed to learn that a few days during my stay it was closed for private events. When we finally went, there was no room for hotel guests or dedicated space, so we decided not to stay since the available places were scare. We decided to stay in this hotel, based on many reasons, being the rooftop one of the them and we were not prior informed of the conditions of the rooftop. Next time, I know that when it comes to the rooftop, it's the same being a guest or not. On a side note, the rooms are on the small side and consider that an upper floor (we were in floor 9) comes with the rooftop noise. The gym is minimal.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was excellent, close to Gran Via and many other popular attractions. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madrid!

The breakfast buffet was very limited, and there were not many options for Muslim guests. We had to request special dishes each day, which was a bit of a hassle. I would suggest that the hotel offer a wider variety of breakfast options, including more halal-friendly choices. There were rainbow flags displayed throughout the hotel, which was a bit overwhelming for us as family

The location is great, central of everything. The staff have some great recommendations of where to go and some ideas to explore. Explore the roof top but not on the weekend it’s super busy!

Some parts of the hotel are a bit dated here and there. The staff ferociously knock on your door in the afternoon sometimes. It was a bit difficult understand the breakdown of the cost whilst checking out.

The location. The property is located at the end of Gran Via and close to El Retiro Park and museums area.

Avoid booking the Superior room. They are inward facing so natural light in room is limited. Go for Premium with a view.

The property is elegant but discreet and has a real buzz about it in all the bars and restaurants. It is very well located and you can walk to almost everywhere or take the Metro which has a station about 60 meters away!

Sound proofing between rooms is not the best

The property is wonderful and the staff were very helpful, efficient and kind.

Our room didn’t have a view and the balcony door was sealed shut but the bathroom shower was amazing! A little more light in the room would be also be great.

Good location. The room was very quiet and restful after a busy time in the city.

The roof bar lounge looked a bit scruffy.

The hotel was beautiful and stylish. The bathroom was fabulously appointed. The best part was the wonderful staff- very friendly and helpful! And the lobby and restaurant interior design was amazing! Easy walk to Prado, parks and restaurants.

There wasn’t anything we disliked about the property- it was all perfect!

A bit pricey...

The location is exceptional. It is close to so much in Centro Madrid.

The check-in process was slow and a little disorganized. If the hotel can improve the check-in process and enlarge its lobby, it would solve a obvious shortcoming.

Super friendly and supportive staff, from reception up to concierge. Specially Veronica and Diego in concierge were a star.

Internet speed in room is too slow. They need to Improve it.

Location was good and we were able to walk to Centro easily. Staff were helpful and friendly. Our dinner at the bar one evening was pleasant and food was good. When we complained on our first night about the pounding music above our room, we were immediately told that there is a dance going on and it would go late into the night. The receptionist or manager immediately suggested we changed rooms from 10th to 7th floor and gave us one that was a double bed and had a lovely city view. In addition, they provided us with complimentary chocolates the next afternoon for the inconvenience that caused us as it was almost midnight when we proceeded to change rooms. Well done to them.

As a married couple, we had asked over a month ago for a room on a high floor with a double bed. We agreed to one where the twin beds were together but thought that they had made up the beds to look like a double with a double bedsheet and double duvet cover. Instead they were only physically together. Perhaps they need to rethink this. Also the initial receptionist should have mentioned that although we were on the highest floor, there was going to be a night club above us that will be playing late into the night on the Friday and Saturday nights and giving us the option to choose a lower floor room instead. Anyway, it all worked out well in the end.

We could hear a lot of noise from 6.30/7am on the day of our checkout - from guests moving luggage around or opening / closing doors.

The location was very good, the proximity with Bellas Artes Center it’s really a plus. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful.

Price is quite high.

The rooms are nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. The terrace bar is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. The location is perfect to explore Madrid and right at the centre of main attractions that can be reached by foot.

A pity we couldn't enjoy the restaurant due to a wedding at the venue.

This was the sixth time I have stayed at this hotel for business which tells its own story.

This property has two exceptional wins. 1. Superb staff. Daniel. Deigo. Rosia. All exceptional. 2. Fabulous location that is withing walkable distance of so many attractions.

The rooms can be a tad small.

We have to give credit to staff. They are very polite and helpful although very busy. They had several events going on but they accommodated our demand for lunch and dinner downstairs. Location is super, the venue itself is fantastic, well decorated. Our bedroom was of a great size, sheets, towels were soft and cleaned, as they have to be. We had complimentary water everyday which was great. Loved it all

Well, cannot remember of something bad. I would make a suggestion about the railing on the entry stairs that should be freed from decoration so old people would be able to hold on to it as going up or down.

I like the location, it is very easy to go to so many places from the hotel, very walkable area. Breakfast was very good and staff very attentive to your needs. Room very clean.

The building is a bit noisy because of the area, it has a good restaurant downstairs with many people coming and going, elevators are also quite small, but it is understandable given it is an old building.

Great hotel located perfectly in the city centre. Staff extremely friendly and very helpful about getting information regarding restaurants, day trips, flamenco shows etc. All in all, a great little trip to be repeated in the near future!

This hotel has an important connection to Ernest Hemingway's "Dangerous Summer" of 1959. It was his base for travels in northern Spain.

Not a great deal to be honest, if our bus tour of Spain and Portugal didn’t start from here, not our first choice of places to stay, suits some not others, we tend to be fussy and like to get what we pay for

Just the location and as usual, needed to get a service person to fix the aircon, blocked filters, lack of maintenance, just shouldn’t happen, breakfast €29.00 if you want it, €13.50 not 100 meters away and much better as well

Everything was fantastic. We stayed in a very spacious room in the first floor with street view, it was completely quiet despite the fact that the hotel is a few steps away from a theater. Breakfast was delicious and also the restaurant offers excellent options, Hasna and Santos go above and beyond their duties, always with a smile. Diego and the rest of the reception team offered all kind of information and advice. We will definitely go back to this place.

Very central location made is easy to access local bars and restaurants as well as the historic sites. Breakfast was excellent, with freshly squeezed orange juice on tap and a great selection of hot and cold items to choose from. Our room was lovely. It was on the 9th floor so the views over the city were spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset. The bed was super comfy and we both slept very well throughout for 5 night stay.

There was not much to find fault with. We found the rooftop bar a little busy and with pumping music, not the ideal location for a quiet pre-dinner drink, but perhaps it is aimed at a different type of customer. We found plenty of other more relaxed rooftop bars nearby, so this wasn't a drawback for us.
