Hotel Catalonia Las Cortes, Madrid
The Catalonia Las Cortes is a stunning boutique hotel that offers a rare opportunity to stay within a piece of Madrid’s history. The property is housed in a grand 18th-century neoclassical mansion, which once served as the private residence of the Duke of Noblejas.
The hotel has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its aristocratic character, making it feel more like a palace than a typical city stay. Guests can admire original details throughout the building, including the impressive main staircase, intricate wood flooring, and authentic frescoes adorning the ceilings in many of the suites. You can even spot the original stained-glass windows of the palace’s old chapel on the second floor.
Beyond its historical allure, the hotel is perfectly positioned for art lovers. It sits right in the heart of the “Art Triangle,” just a short walk from world-class institutions like the Prado Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, and the Reina Sofía Art Center.
The surrounding Barrio de las Letras—or Literary Quarter—is one of Madrid’s most atmospheric neighborhoods. Known for its bohemian spirit, the area is packed with traditional tapas bars, intimate cocktail lounges, and small art galleries. Whether you want to stroll through the nearby Retiro Park or explore the vibrant city center, the Catalonia Las Cortes provides a sophisticated and deeply historic home base for your Spanish adventure.

Hotel with Excellent staff, conveniently located in Central Madrid
Everything. Very helpful and accommodating staff, Mariano, Havi, Diego, all staff members whom we dealt with gave us a "welcome home" feeling. They made our stay very comfortable and memorable. We stayed 5 nights all together using this hotel as our base for Spain trip. It's conveniently located near the livery Plaza Santa Ana where many tapa restaurants and cafes are surrounded. Also, it's a walking distance to the Prado, Thyssen museums, and Reina Sofia.

A well located well run hotel.
Helpful staff on reception, good sized room and a very useful location. Lots of local tapas and restaurant options
On both occasions we stayed myVisa card was rejected by your machine despite working in every other hotel, restaurant and public facility in Spain. As a result I incurred FX charges.

Great Front Desk Support, nice sandwiches in the evening and very good room
Great Front Desk staff: Javi, Juan, and Pedro. They all helped us many times during our visit, providing sightseeing recommendations, directions, calling taxies, and restaurant suggestions (especially La Rollerie - for breakfast, lunch or even dinner). I had the crispy chicken thigh tacos twice and they were very tasty. We also ate breakfast there a couple of times and it was excellent. La Rollerie is definitely one of the Madrid gems we found during our staff, and it was Javi that told us there was one only eight minutes walk from the hotel. We liked the beds too. We only had two double beds, not as large as our bed at the Catalonia Magdalenes in Barcelona, but they were were firm and great to sleep on. The rain shower, while not as large as the one in Barcelona was still very good. One thing we really liked was in the afternoon, the hotel had sandwiches, fruit jars, coffee, tea, and pastries which was very classy and nice, especially after a long day walking around Madrid.
The lavatory area was not as great as the setup we had the Catalonia Magdalenes and we didn't have a filter water station in the gym, however, it wasn't a huge issue, as the water in Madrid is very safe to drink.

Charming and quite hotel in the center of Madrid
Great location! It’s within walking distance of most sightseeing spots and great restaurants, and it offers easy access to public transit. The staff is extremely friendly, and we were so grateful for the early check-in after our long flight. The complimentary afternoon snacks were a great bonus. We also really appreciated that the hotel is tucked away on a very quiet street. It was surprisingly quiet. We’re really happy with our stay. It definitely lived up to our expectations.
Nothing.

Great location for historic Madrid
One of the best hotels we have stayed in for a long while. Well appointed, in a quiet street but in a good central location for historic Madrid. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. They took particular care to help us with our train reservations to Cordoba. Excellent breakfast.
Just up the street is the lively Plaza Santa Ana, with lots of tapas bars and restaurants (including one of Hemingway's favourites). Down the street is a short walk to the galleries at the Prado and Museo Reina Sofia and the Retiro park.
This was our first trip to Madrid, and staying at Catalonia las Cortes made it all the better, giving us a great base from which to explore the city.

I would totally recommend Catalans Las Cortes for anyone! Central location and clean elegant hotel
The staff here was fantastic especially the young man who brought our luggage up! I wish I got his name 🙁. The location was perfect! Just a short walk to everything!
We thought the breakfast a bit pricey but it didn’t matter, there were enough bakeries around to fill our needs.

Outstanding Hotel in the Heart of Madrid
An outstanding hotel in the heart of the Cortes neighborhood in Madrid and surroundedby dozens of all types of restaurantsand bars. It's conveniently to all the major tourist sites by foot or taxi. The hotel staff was terrific and I really appreciated the snacks put out at 4. The room exceeded expectations.
The breakfast was pricey at 24€ per person. It would have been great to have a gym.

Relaxed, comfortable stay in ideally located hotel. We slept like logs.
Location close to park and galleries and Plaza Mayor and metro stations, quiet street, comfortable bedroom, chocolates before bed! Snacks between 4-7pm very welcome after long day out and before late dinner. The staff were always helpful and never intrusive.

I do recommend to others
Mainly the location
The biggest problem was the lack of information on the train travel.
Because of that, we had to spend more than eight hours at the train e.

Cosy stay in the very center of Madrid
This is a very nice hotel tucked away in one of the small street in the center of Madrid. Close to many attractions such as e.g Museo Prado, Puerta Sol. Very friendly staff with perfect English if you do not speak Spanish. Excellent breakfast . Rooms are modern but with a little old charm. Bathroom with both dusch and tube.
Plus they have happy hour with free snacks
Only negative thing was the AC above the bed which meant that cold air svept down your face while falling to sleep.

Had a great stay and made our special occasion even more special with a beautiful room
Location is excellent with ability to walk around the city and return to the hotel throughout the day if needed, it was a special occasion for us and the hotel surprised us with a room upgrade which was fantastic.
No comment to make here as everything was great and was exactly what we wanted

Great hotel in the ultimate location!
I stayed for several nights at this hotel. The front desk is very helpful. They always greet you with a smile. They helped me call The Ritz to postpone my afternoon tea reservations because I couldn’t get through to them on my phone. Room was clean. Area is amazing!
The bathroom has no ventilation. My room was small so bathroom activities could be embarrassing. Breakfast was so expensive. My husband was sick during our stay so we couldn’t go out much. It would have been so nice to have just coffee and toast without paying 24 Euro each.

Nice hotel, good location
I liked the location. It was within walking distance of many sites and the immediate area was very cool. The room was a good size. I loved how the bedroom had a foyer with a door separating it from the hotel hallway which made it quiet. Coffee and water provided. For free. Towels were nice. Decent water pressure . Good tv.
My room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned when I checked in. The pillows weren’t comfortable. Shower was in a bathtub which was slippery. Would have been nice to have had a bathrobe
