Wombat’s CITY Hostel, London

Every thing was well thought out and on point. The safe in the bed and two dedicated plug points all accessible from thw bed is a winner. Clean and modern bathrooms.

Lift kept conking out so often.

Close to a subway station, which made it easy to travel around the city. I did not use the kitchen very much but it seemed great. The dormitory was clean. The shower was spacious.

It was a bit hot in the room in the dormitory but you are provided with a fan for your bed (which is a little loud though)

The fan in the bed was really useful!

I liked the social aspect, there were lots of communal places to sit outside of the dorm room. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm and i liked how there was a mirror and sink in the bathroom with toilet and shower and also one outside the bathroom. Made getting ready super easy, never had to wait for shower. Heaps of locker space could fit my whole suitcase in it. Had a safe on top of lockers and a fan in each bed. The room had a window too so we could let in fresh air. In between two tube stations so could get out/home using circle/hammersmith/district lines.

Ladder to top bunk was difficult to climb (more so than others) which made it hard to get up and down in the night/early without disturbing person below. Staff were helpful but not friendly when asking for things. A little further from the tube station than I would have liked. Approx 8 min walk which is ok but not the best! No filtered water fountains.

I was solo travelling. For the first time in my life . I never felt alone or unsafe at the hostel . It’s easily to meet new people and hang out . The people that work there are all very kind and helpful.

The toilets . There are no windows or ventilation so they kinda stink .

Every bed has it's own locker and fan, charging sockets near the head, the safety doors and the cleanness! The kitchen and facilities were amazing and useful

I've stayed at this hostel many times - it's in a great location near Tower Bridge and Shoreditch and since I was last here, it seems to now be in the midst of a tech district too. The hostel itself is THE BEST I've ever stayed at in London. The rooms are clean, the shower room is elevated, and it's quiet at night, unlike a lot of hostels. The staff always go above and beyond with any request I've ever had. And to my surprise, they've upgraded each bed to include a powerful fan and privacy curtains. If you are on a budget and are looking for a reasonable place to rest your head, this is it!

One of the elevators was out of service when I stayed, which meant a longer wait for the elevator but that didn't impact me too much.

Clean sheets and showers, curtains on the beds and storage inside.

The seats in the bar are uncomfortable, the luggage storage fees are a bit high, selection at the café is very limited

Loved almost everything, it’s was so good and a great value for the price. The breakfast was awesome too!

The elevator was awful, only one worked and sometimes I’ve waited up to 5 minutes to get up.

I loved the privacy of the beds so much (despite that I was in a 6-bed room) and the special assistance provided to me by the front desk staff, Will (amazing guy). He was so nice to me and helped me resolve the issue with my initial booking online.

The first room I was in flooded through the bathroom, but they were swift in transferring us to another room immediately and compensated with free breakfast till my checkout. So the issue was quickly resolved and I liked that

Near the tower bridge, big hostel, comfortable bed.

Next to my bed and in the assigned locker was trash from, maybe, some husped before me.

I liked the cafe downstairs and the view from our room.

Our one roommate. He was an middle aged guy who peed next to the toilet and not in the toilet all the time. Besides he always let the bathroom door open no matter what he did inside and smoked inside the room.

Very nice hostel with clean and comfortable dorms. Each bed has its own big locker and smaller locker by the bed, power, curtains and light. Very nice reception area with terrasse, coffee and bar. Staff was super welcoming.

A little bit outside of the centre but within 10 minutes walking distance to 2 underground lines.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Kitchen facilities were good.

The place was better than I expected. It was really big, with larger common spaces to lounge and relax and meet other people. The room was perfect and everything was very clean.

Fabulous spacious hostel and v v quiet which is very precious as middle aged woman. Staff esp Kitchen, cleaners & security are a delight.

Need to fix things faster. We had one lift for duration of my stay. Some dorms where up 7 flights of stairs. I was more fortunate on the 2nd floor

I am very picky about the bathrooms everywhere I go, and I must say that this one was clean, hygienic and had everything. The room was really quite, I stayed in a female room, and the girls were very clean, quite and friendly. The bed was really comfort, I slept very well, it actually surprised me. If I knew it was this good I would had stayed more here, as I booked only one night and then changed into another one.

It looks incredibly modern hostel. Pretty nice bathroom in the shared room.

Most of the receptionists were truly nice except for one which was kinda rude when asked for help

Location is very good, the stuff is super friendly and helpful, breakfast is fine

All towels in our room were with stains, there was no shower gel in the room (luckily we checked this before and took some with us)
