The location and the room was very clean

The room and bathroom are both very small. Whilst it was comfortable it is just not worth the money - you are paying for its ‘olde English’ feel but it’s not worth all that extra cost just for colourful wallpaper and old paintings. It is also covered in scaffolding - perhaps they could have offered a discount whilst all that work is going on?

Beautiful characterful building, cosy bar area, unique decor.

We stayed here for two nights including our wedding night. We did let the hotel know in advance and they were accommodating but there were no additional touches to make our stay more special, and staff weren’t aware until we informed them. We felt it would have been helpful to have an experienced member of staff in the reception area too.

1. No one was was available for me to check in. I had to ask the staff to be attended and wait for to be checked in. 2. I was asked whether I wanted the room to be cleaned. Said yes but no one came. 3. A card in the room said to ask for milk or milk alternative to make coffee or tea. I went down to ask for and none was available. Thankfully though a staff found some and delivered. Surprising that this wasn’t available at first instance. 4. the safe was not working and needed new batteries. I had to call to get it fixed. I didn’t want to be disturbed so decided not to use it/told technician to do it after o checked out. 5. I asked to deposit my bag after checking out. When I asked for a receipt or acknowledgment I was told I couldn’t get one. Also that if things were lost it was my responsibility as I had already checked out. Later when I came to collect my belongings I was asked by someone else for a receipt or a ticket. Doesn’t make sense to me.

One of the nicest breakfast buffets for a small hotel but not included with price of our room. Decor is over the top fun filled w antiques and interesting fabrics. Bar area is lively and cozy. Beds are very comfortable and room was cleaned beautifully.

Not really organized front desk. Seemed like a young, lightly trained staff. But all were very nice. The rooms are tight which is common in London. Not a lot of food options in hotel if you arrive late or on weekend. It's just a quirky small boutique experience so don't expect services you'd get elsewhere. We stayed 5 nights and it grew on us.

There was no lounge area specifically for hotel guests. The bar is advertised quite separately to the hotel, to bring in outside patrons, with seating in all the downstairs area able to be reserved by people who just want bar service. There was live music on two nights we stayed. It would be good to have a quiet area where you could sit and relax after a day in town and The Zetter doesn't provide this. The armchair in our room needed respringing - you honestly couldn't sit in it. Breakfast was expensive.

The location was great for my sons wedding, we had three rooms

All three of our rooms were not serviced on the Saturday. We had breakfast in our room and left do not disturb on the doors whilst we got ready for the wedding, we left at 12.50am, removing all 3 do not disturbs. When we got back in the early hours of the morning, none of the rooms had been serviced. I rang downstairs and was told u have to put a card outside to say you want it done, what card?? Back to our 3 rooms with not drinking water, wet towels from Friday night and Saturday morning!! When checking out on the Saturday I was told cost of breakfast would be removed! Ok but I’d rather have had the rooms serviced than a free breakfast. I asked why they hadn’t done and she said you have to put a card out saying you want it done in case they forget to do it but she forgot to tell us. Unbelievable,

The location of the Zetter is great. It’s a quirky hotel that fits its environment perfectly.

The hotel was exceptionally unhelpful about a booking error. They gave conflicting information and were rude with a clear message that maximising spend was more important than a happy guest. Felt like dealing with a shabby market trader.

Nicest hotel staff I've ever come across - very accommodating, helpful, professional and friendly. Love the decor and our room was fantastic. Peaceful spot in a central location.

I was over charged on every transaction compared to prices in the menu. There was no mini bar or Coffee cups or ironing facilities, although the booking confirmation listed it.

There was no one at check in, I had to call 3 times before they brought the promised drinks to the room they were pretty rude at checkout, and didn't want to print the invoice (so why add 12.5% service to the bill without any service attitude? added 12.5% extra without notification beforehand to the bill coffee needed to be paid separately at breakfast

It’s a beautiful building in a great location. It’s Central London and yet it’s really calm and only a few minutes walk to the tube. Lovely people too, and a good bar.

The only thing I didn’t like was walking between two bar tables to get to the lift. Otherwise, this is lovely place. I’d stay there again.

A very homey, and intimate space! Rooms just the right size, and very well located. I’ll definitely stay here again!

You many need to be bring ear plugs. not sure if it was just the extra security in the area for design week. But having people conversation for hours on end your side your window was not ideal.

The price, it seemed a lot more than what I thought I had booked for and this did not include breakfast. Normally I have no issues with what I sign up for but on this occasion it seemed very expensive. My wife booked us a second night stay directly with the hotel and it was considerably cheaper.

Lovely room and bathroom. Quiet in the evening. Good air con. Attentive staff and room service. Bar downstairs was chill with very nice cocktails, as well as some lovely non-alcoholic options.

Be aware that a lot of people eateries in the area are closed on weekends as it is a less touristy area.

Breakfast was good. Lounge / cocktail bar is very comfortable and quirky. Quiet location. Only a few bedrooms so not busy. Well equipped bedrooms.

Check-in was a bit chaotic - the bar staff couldn’t help so we had to wait for someone who could. Simple questions to the breakfast staff like ‘ what time is check out?’ required a phone call to a manager. We ordered a full English breakfast but then got charged extra for a cup of tea and extra for a glass of orange juice plus 12.5% service charge. On checking out nobody bothered to ask if we had had a good stay, etc. It is a cocktail bar with rooms rather than a hotel.

Good breakfast in the beautiful and cosy dining room. I stay for 3-5 nights at once, and like to feel at home. This is exactly how the Townhouse feels, with the bespoke furniture and lovely cocktail bar/breakfast room. The location is excellent, walking distance from Farringdon tube station that takes you right into the heart of London.

The bed was quirky, but too quirky for me. No USB charging in the room. Noisy as people left the bar and the aircon/ heating did not work well

I have stayed at both locations and I love the quirky vibe and decor. I love the rooms and especially the bathtub. We were there during a beautiful snow storm and it felt like a fairytale despite the lack of service.

I found the bar staff at both locations super grumpy and unhelpful. This is extremely disappointing because the hotels are otherwise so very charming. The lack of effort in prioritizing the guest experience is the reason I won't stay at either location again. The bar staff all seem like great friends that you are disturbing my making requests (ordering food for example or asking for travel advice). There is little warmth or a feeling of making any extra effort towards hospitality. They also seem to prioritize the crowds visiting for high tea over those actually staying in the hotel. We did have a fire alarm go off very late at night and no hot water in the morning - the hotel compensated for this by offering to comp our extra expenses which was unsolicited and kind.

it was my partners birthday, the staff were so lovely and bought us complimentary drinks on multiple occasions! the hotel itself is amazing, SO quirky and so different to anywhere we’ve stayed before! would 100% recommend if you’re after good service, a new experience and good value in London!

My partner and I have always been big fans of Zetter – our first date was in the bar many years ago. As such, we’ve visited a number of times. We love the rooms and think the hotel as a space is wonderful, but I’m not certain we’ll be staying again. We feel that over time, the hotel has become very stretched from a service point of view (although we fully acknowledge that the industry as a whole is suffering at the moment). We had a rare, child-free night in London last week and opted to stay here. We went to the theatre and came back to enjoy a few drinks, only to be told at 10:45pm that the bar was closing. The staff were as accommodating as they could be, and we managed to squeeze an extra drink in, but it just doesn’t feel like the indulgent place that it once was where we could escape and be fully looked after.

very quiet despite being so central, no noise even though right by the lift. Strong shower pressure was great. Great breakfast (room service) and comfy mattress. only briefly spoke to staff but all seem nice and very efficient.

I’m 5’9 and the bed frame made the bed feel short which was uncomfortable as an old four poster wooden frame with raised panel at the end meant my feet kept hitting it during the night. if you’re taller than me, you’ll find this tough! (room 4) it’s also exceptionally high up, so if you struggle with accessibility, you’ll need a step ladder (not kidding) desk chair felt like it was close to breaking, very wobbly. zetter has a great reputation but I found it a touch pricy for what you get.

We stayed a week and enjoyed our room and the area. Great coffee and tea making facilities in the room. The decorations and furniture are eccentric/traditional British but the townhouse uses the facilities of the modern Zetter hotel next door. Our room was to the front with great views. The location is very central but also quiet. Maybe a bit too quiet in the weekend as it is a part of town with lots of offices and showrooms. The bar downstairs is very popular, also with non-guests. It does get noisy downstairs but it did not travel up to our second floor room. We stayed a whole week and had a great time.

The elevator could do with a cosmetic update. It's dark and dirty. An extra stool in the bathroom would have been nice as there is not enough horizontal space for putting clothes etc. The matras was too hard for me, but that is a personal preference.

The boutique atmosphere of the hotel was super cute. The rooms provided a one of a kind experience and they were larger than I would expect for London. The location was also really great.

we liked the fun taxidermy and decor around the entire hotel. the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. drinks at the bar were also amazing! breakfast was great too.

Bottles of water should be provided every day. The room needs 2 cotton bath mats : for shower and for bathtub.
