Great Northern Hotel, London

location excellent for taking an early Eurostar to France The 'Pantry' on each corridor was a Plus with a coffee machine, chocolate brownies and fruit available foc.

Bathroom was cold - the electric towel heater was not on and I could not find any way to put it on. The heating system was very noisy. The room was tiny but adequate for the purpose. I would have liked to use the Nespresso machine in the cupboard in my room but I could not make it work and there were no instructions.

All of it, I was pleasantly surprised how good it was being that it was so close to the station

Breakfasts were good but at £30 each I would have expected much better. Very limited selection and few options before additional charges were made.

One night stay, Ideal location, very comfortable bed and spacious room.

Lack of shower screen of any sort so entire bathroom floor and toilet was soaked.

Room was comfortable. Excellent ensuite with large shower. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel is perfect for catching the Eurostar at St Pancras.

Check in was not a great experience, pre booked top floor room offered a third floor after a lot of conversation between the two staff on the desk, when I challenged the third floor offer I was immediately given a top floor room . Felt like they were trying to fob me off

A coffee machine in a dark cupboard with no instructions and water bottles with screw tops that resisted opening.

The good points: very comfortable bed, clean room; also, with a view at the back over the King's Cross roof, very quiet, despite having an open window. Good meal in the restaurant; outstanding cooked breakfast. Staff pleasant without being obsequious or over-bearing.

This is an expensive place to stay. I would therefore expect a particularly precise attention to detail. The not-so-good points: there was a bedside light missing from the room. I reported this twice over a two hour period; it was not replaced, and no-one came back to me about it. I also had to go down to reception in order to report it - twice - since there was no response to my attempts to ring down. There is in any case a strange proliferation of light switches, whose purpose is not immediately obvious. One, apparently redundant switch appeared to serve no purpose whatsoever, and was partially broken. Bathroom, very clean, but slightly ill-conceived. There is no shower curtain. The result is that the entire room gets very wet. Since there is a wooden floor immediately outside, both the bathroom and the small corridor to the bedroom become slippery. Using every towel available to mop up the floor feels profligate and unethical. On my arrival I booked a table at the restaurant. The reservation was mislaid between the main reception and the restaurant reception. A final detail. I abandoned a phone charger cable in the room. It was found, with a view to returning it to me through the post – at a price of £1.60! Really? If I had been paying a normal hotel charge, I would have been happy to disregard the failings noted above and to call my stay terrific. At this price I expect much more attention to detail.

Perfect location for St. Pancras station, friendly, helpful staff and very clean. The bed was very comfortable.

The only negative point would be the room wasn’t particularly large for the price but it was exceptionally clean and elegant and the location was ideal so definitely no complaints

It was quite comfortable although the room size was rather cozy. It was also quiet especially considering the busy road outside. I normally use earplugs and they were not needed.

Excellent location for our onward travels via Eurostar, beautifully decorated room & hotel with ample options for eating & drinking close by if hotel not to your taste, We had a great bar snack and breakfast on our overnight stay ( big portion full English) The rooms are a tad smaller than expected but very comfortable. And we were literally next to kings cross & st pancras stations with brilliant transport links. The pantry & tea / coffee & pastries is a nice touch and was very well stocked. Overall … I found it to be very good, A little pricey but that’s the location & standard we wanted so a fair compromise for satisfaction in my opinion

Perhaps a better table & additional chair for the in room dining would be more practical than the small one in my room & a stocked fridge with snacks / drinks

So close to the station and considering we were coming in just for the night to then head off next morning it was ideal. also we were surprised at how lovely it was inside, that was unexpected.

It felt on the pricey side for the size of the room and coffee machine was broken and the handheld shower was also on a broken hold.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was good but expensive. Much cheaper but not as nice breakfasts to be had in St. Pancras Station. Availability of bar. Pantry on every floor which was well stocked with tea, coffee, milk, cake(freshly baked) and fruit. Quietness of room. Value for money. Hotel was much cheaper than Renaissance, St Pancras and just as convenient.

Small size of room. Attic room with view over roofs of London. View was not good as it was often interrupted by skyscrapers --not the hotels fault.

location terrific for catching the Eurostar . food was amazing. beautifully clean .
