SAHARA Las Vegas is a historic gem that anchors the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip. Originally opening in 1952, it famously served as a playground for the Rat Pack, cementing its status as an iconic piece of Sin City history. While the property has undergone several major transformations over the decades, it still retains a sense of classic Vegas glamour fused with modern, minimalist luxury.
The resort’s design is a striking blend of old and new. Recent renovations have introduced sleek, contemporary aesthetics, featuring champagne-toned finishes and modern architectural accents that pay homage to the resort’s mid-century roots. The entrance, with its sophisticated porte-cochère, creates an impressive arrival experience that feels both polished and energetic.
A unique feature of the property is its role as the northernmost station of the Las Vegas Monorail, making it incredibly easy to zip down to the heart of the Strip. Inside, you’ll find vibrant entertainment venues, like The Foundry, and a collection of eclectic dining spots that cater to a wide range of tastes, ensuring the energy remains high throughout your stay.
Its location offers a quieter, more accessible vantage point compared to the center-strip resorts. You are just a short walk or ride from the STRAT Hotel and its famous observation tower, and not far from the Neon Museum, where you can see preserved pieces of classic Vegas history. Whether you are there for the gaming or the nightlife, SAHARA offers a storied, stylish home base for any desert adventure.
Expert reviews
“A genuinely underrated Strip stay: recently renovated, better looking than people remember, and now home to one of the most interesting new restaurants in Las Vegas.”
“One of Sin City’s original and most recognisable names is back in the mix as SAHARA after a spate of modern day rebrands. It’s now a beautiful, contemporary twist on that first property, featuring public spaces filled with gorgeous black and white photography that pays homage to its cool, swinging days of yore.”

Comfortable and clean. Easy check in. Great stay
Right at the monorail stop so very handy. Clean and comfortable. Nice and quiet in the rooms.
Would like to have been a bit closer on the strip.

Okay stay for the price.
Free parking
I stayed in the Blanco tower. The room was dated and the carpet was worn out.

Nice modern and clean hotel, good size room and comfortable beds. I will stay here again
Very friendly reception, check in was super smooth, good size room and comfortable bed. Monorail to reach Las Vegas main area is super convenient, just few steps away from the hotel. Hotel very well kept and modern. I would stay in this hotel again
Nothing, everything was good

Stay is ok other than the receipt
Good stay. It was great experience in staying Sahara.
We booked 2 rooms in one name but they were not able to gives single receipt. We felt such big hotel is not able to handle this small request was not a good sign :(

Excellent value for our money
For the price we paid, the Sahara was exceptional. The restaurant selection was varied and offered something to please everyone in our group. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Special shout out to Takila at check in. She was professional and friendly, offered an upgrade to our room as it was a Sunday night and not particularly busy. She accommodated our request for late check out. We will definitely stay here again.
The one downside to the Sahara would be the pool. Hours are slightly limited and finding a lounger was very challenging. We ended up not using the pool for this reason.

When staying here just for 1 night, don't come here, check in procedure takes longer than your stay!
Room size was good, it was clean and there was a small table to eat on.
Check in was awful, if you stay only 1 night consider to stay at another hotel, just for this, as lines can take up to an hour.
The people who were checking for a hotel card by the elevators are also not the happiest, a bit grumpy but still within the boundaries of okayish.

It was good, not great.
I was given a room with a disability shower which was unnecessary. It also was not as clean as it should have been.

Vegas anniversary trip
Very clean and accessible to many amenities.
The lady at the front gave me and my husband a bit of a hard time with check in because she couldn't find my reservation. After 15min the issue finally was resolved.

Overall great stay.
Great location… Spacious
Prepare to smell like cigarette smoke…. The “ICONIC king suite” was spacious but “cheesy.” A lot of “hidden” fees…

It served its purpose. Beautiful hotel on the inside.
Janay at the front desk was friendly. Any requests were quickly brought to the room by staff which was greatly appreciated.
The staff for check in weren’t very friendly. I believe they were overwhelmed due to holiday traffic but were not very welcoming.

Guests matter so treat their stay correctly by offering a necessary service
It was clean, quiet easy access
We stayed for 4 nights and our room wasn’t attended for the cleaning staff. Not even the towels were replaced I had to call to get clean towels and wait for them. Trash wasn’t taken out the room.

Great but not awesome.
Location is on the strip and not that too far. Casino machines and the lounge bar was great
The matress was too soft and the hosted parties weren't great they had great facilities to host great parties.

Modern and clean, good value for a conference stay
The hotel public areas and room were new and very nice - making it a very good value.
Location next to monorail stop was useful to get to other spots in Vegas bypassing the traffic jammed Strip.
Location was good (10 mins walk) to my conference at the Fontainebleau.
The pool space was nice, and the breakfast restaurant was very nice.
The taxi/ride share areas were convenient for hotel guests, so you did not have to keep walking through the Casino area.
Walgreens, Subway, McD, 7-11 across the street which was useful for after hours needs.
The gym was a dump, with only cardio machines - the few weight machines were all broken. dumbbells options were OK, so you could make do, but not more.
The Starbucks and coffee place had insane prices (US$14 for coffee + muffin), but I guess this is the standard in Vegas everywhere.
The pool space seems to be 80% reserved for "upgrade" extra pay services, and they would not even let you bring cold iced tea with you (bag checks on entry), but I guess that's another Vegas standard.

Great facilities, clean and comfortable. - questionable privacy in the double rooms.
Nice property with good facilities. Clean and comfortable rooms.
We had a room with 2 double beds to accommodate 2 adult couples. There was no door between the main room and the shower area; and the shower had a window in it that looked into the main room. There was a blind for modesty but it could be opened from the outside. It didn’t over much in the way of privacy when needed.
