Resort Delano at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas

My family loved the large suite. I was clean and smelled like we were in a spa. The location was close to my mom who stayed in the Mandalay bay side but with no Casino or smell of smoke like the Mandalay bay. The breakfast there was so good and convenient. I loved the separate pool with two different levels and more quiet that the Mandalay Bay side but easily accessible to that side of the pool. I absolutely loved the staff they were attentive and showed personal interest in my stay and the service was well above my expectation. I was greeted by Brianna from Valet and when the front desk staff became busy she helped checked me in our room without delay. I had an issue with my first room and Cherelle in the front desk went above and beyond her customer service and fixed my problem so fast and was so compassionate she really impressed me and my family! There was one more front desk staff he was fabulous and I am upset at myself because I can not remember his name but kudos to this resort and its staff for making my experience memorable!!!!!

I choose this resort because I do not gamble nor do I smoke. It is known for its spa like aromas and no casino on first floor. My family checked in during the week and things were great. Once the weekend started one day I smelled marijuana in my room as though someone went in and literally was smoking in the living room. This happened twice in one week. However the staff informed me that this was a smoke free resort and sometimes people break the rules and the smoke comes from the air vents. They fixed the problem asap twice and made sure dinner was on them for out inconvenience. Despite the ignorance of other travelers who do not respect others experiences or rules I would definitely stay here again.

The pool areas are really over crowded and run down. Poor quality furniture. There is a mini bar with a sensor so you can’t use it for your own things. Everything is charged as an extra. Hotel looking tired - not up market at all. Domino’s convention was on when we were there

Quiet hotel with all the amenities from Mandalay Bay. Nice big room with HUGE bathroom.

The end of the strip is a but tough to get other places.

Location.

Being stabbed by a nail located right before the metal strip that holds the carpet by the entrance to the main bathroom. It drew blood and it bothered me for the last two days there. I was on my socks because I was counting on a 5 stars hotel supplying a pair of slippers but there weren’t any. My wife gave me two band aids that helped me walking better.

The rooms were nice. I know it's a short walk to mandalay bay down the hallway, but another dining option on the delano side would have been nice

The room was large and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Lobby was very cold and no instructions on getting to the check-in desk. Forget having anyone to take your luggage or greeting you. Was charged $24 for the bottle of water in the room which is ridiculous. There were no prices posted for the water or for items in the mini fridge. I wanted a real coffee cup in the room instead of the paper ones that they provide. I was told that would be a $9 charge. Certainly not the same place as when it was the hotel. Will not stay at the Delano again.

Loved the roof top bar and lounge with fabulous views of the strip. Lobby was gorgeous and had a terrific coffee shop for breakfast that was very reasonably priced. Rooms were huge as it’s an all suite hotel

The check in could have been better. The front desk staff was not particularly welcoming when I arrived and the room type that I booked was not available. However, the manager promptly came out and was very apologetic and made things right by offering me a generous food and beverage credit. I did not have any further issues during my stay and enjoyed every aspect of my five night visit.

We asked reception to bring something to our room, it took 2 hours and they woke us up at 2:30am even though we ended up putting the do not disturb on after an hour and went to sleep, they knocked on and then rang the phone until they woke us up 🤣

Luxurious rooms

Pricing. A bottle of water in the room is 25 dollars. I would expect a guest that flew from the other side of the world to at least be welcomed with a free bottle of water, but you are charged as soon as you lift up the bottle because there is a sensor under it.

A microwave and mini fridge would have been nice. Also, an extra box of tissues somewhere other than the bathroom. And USB-C plugs.

Have stayed here a number of times before, so like the familiarity and the fact that it’s quiet for Vegas

My room looked very tired and in need of a refresh The carpets were very stained, the furnishings looked like they needed replacing This was nothing to do with housekeeping as my bed, towels etc were always well done

The room was extremely clean, the housekeeping did a truly fantastic job! The room was also very quiet - we heard no one else. The air conditioning was fully functional, and cold. The front desk staff were very patient in dealing with a diverse amount of requests/demands from guests. They kept their cool when people were impatient.

They did not have the room we booked on Booking.com, which was disappointing. We ended up in a lesser room, with not much of a view. We specifically booked the room based on the view, of the Strip. We ended up paying less but would have loved the view we spent time choosing. The front check-in was very friendly but the process was slow. There was often only 1 person working. For any changes, the front desk staff needed to "talk to the manager", either by calling them, or walking away and into a back office. We needed our keys redone at 1am - they stopped working at one point and to do this the desk staff had to "talk to the manager". I felt bad for them, tbh. The front desk staff were doing basic hotel things, not sure why every request needed manager oversight. Still, a great stay and we'd stay there again in the future.

I think that the resort fees are ridiculous - everywhere - not just at your hotel. When asking about what the resort fees include, basically the front desk agent said local phone calls. No one uses the hotel phones anymore as everyone has their own cell phones. Also, every time i went to the porter's desk, they seem to vanish into their office. The Uber pick-up line was a bit confusing. two separate areas for drop offs and pick ups. but the Ubers would all just to to the drop off area to pick up passengers.

Beach Hotel seems quieter and more family friendly compared to other hotels

Everything about the hotel was exceptional, the room was clean, the staff friendly.

It took too long to check in, not enough staff was available. Wish there was a little space for my stuff in the refrigerator without having to pay a $50 daily fee. Even economy hotels provide a refrigerator in rooms for guests. Having a refrigerator with high priced snacks only and no extra space is a bummer.

Enjoy the ambiance and the fact that rooms are suites. Service at the pool was excellent. Meaghan was our server, and she did a heck of a job. Always hustling, smiling, and courteous.

Rooms are starting to look a little worn. Long walk to the pool. One of the reasons we stay here is for the private Delano pool. Very disappointing that they seem to be letting everyone in the Delano pool area, resulting in overcrowding.

The ease of walking in/out and to my room.

Seems like this hotel has cut a few corners since my last few visits. Not big things but I still noticed. I'm expecting an experience for the exclusivity and cost. What I see has slipped slightly to the previous 8-10 visits I've made here. Examples of small slips are $14 for a Keurig coffee in the room with powdered cream and sweet & low... no thanks. The staffing to support a simple call downstairs (waited 2 of 2 times needed) and not getting contacted when my room was ready (after pre-checking in at 8:30am). Again, little things. What caused this review most was the smarmy manager reaction to me casually bringing up a few things I've noticed (i. e. how they slippped a bit). For credibility, I turned down a $100 Food/beverage credit from the concierge before talking to this manager. It was not about me getting free stuff, it was about me telling them they have slipped slightly so they can fix it if they care. I've stayed here at least 8-10 times, so I think I might have a base of standard based on previous stays. Seems like this hotel has a bunch of emplyees working and trying without any managers "managing" to drive the premium and quality message for the price they charge.

The room was fabulous. The extra sitting room was very useful with kids. Great restaurants. The proximity to Allegient stadium couldn’t be beat and closing off the street to walk across was so convenient. Access to the Mandalay Bay pools and other MGM hotel parking was great

The weighted minibar fridge was ridiculous. You couldn’t even put water bottles we bought ourself in the fridge or it would cost $50. I don’t need the booze in there but it would have been nice to have a fridge to use. A separate shower from sink area would have been useful so everyone could have gotten ready.

Ambiance of property was nice. Nice clean large bathroom. Appreciated the Suite. Lots of TVs, comfy beds and linen. Great pool area, beach, river, etc. Too bad they charge for shade. $50 for an umbrella space. $400 for covered cabana.

Had to battle large moths in the room regularly. Seems like staff were familiar with the issue. They did not come to help but immediately issued a credit. We swatted moths nightly before bed. Not fun. No fridge access, expensive water. Prohibitively expensive to eat and drink here. Coffee, banana, and a muffin at the lobby coffee shop was just too much! Be prepared to budget large for even the simplest restaurant meals.

Check in was hard to find. Sky fall lounge did not honor our reservation

Clean, well equipped, spacious. Liked the white noise machine and air filter. Nice to have the second room with a sofa and desk to spread out.

Would have enjoyed reasonably priced coffee in the room and the ability to put things in the mini fridge.

Lovey decor in the public areas, spacious room and nice to be in a hotel which is outside the main casino. Easy access to all facilities of the Mandalay. Comfortable bed.

My “Mountain View” room on 4th floor was essentially car park view. Need robes in the room and the Aircon is pretty average and either too cold of blowing a strong draft over the bed, neither of which is ideal

Problem is I’ve stayed at the Delano in Miami and that was AMAZING! This one just did t quite live up to that expectation, but was great for the value
