Sales Personel was not available for pre visit nor actual date. It being my bday event and a one nights stay, none of the staff wished me. They also messed up a bday wine delivery order to my room frm a friend.

There wasn’t a water hose by the toilet. Quite heavy traffic around the property however there were monorails nearby, hence it was quite convenient.

Our upgraded room was a little small, promoted as a suite but actually a room with a sofa. The room was well furnished and quite comfortable with a comfortable king bed. Breakfast is a la carte with a focus on malaysian dishes. There was an issue with my avocado on toast, which was quickly rectified and compensated by the very professional staff. The breakfast package sold at check in includes one drink and one choice of meal.

The Towkay Suite is really more of a room with a sofa, not a suite. More western dishes at breakfast would be welcome, especially a healthy alternative.

Breakfast was nice as were all the wonderful staff. Our suite was lovely and the decor was exceptional with a great view of the area. The space was very comfortable with ample seating to allow us to relax and enjoy the room at the end of the day. We loved the spacious bathroom with a huge shower and low lighting. The location of the Hotel is perfect as Chow Kit has some fantastic food and cultural experiences at their doorstep. We will definately return to The Chow Kit.

For the rate we paid for our suite I feel there should be coffee and tea provided in the room on arrival as well as an ironing board and iron. It may seem a small thing but when you are travelling its the little things that can make a difference to your experience. Other than that everything was perfect.

The breakfast was tasty and well prepared. The room was quiet with good soundproofing. We were also allowed to check in earlier than the official time, which was appreciated.

The receptionist repeatedly asked us to leave a positive review on TripAdvisor for the early check-in, which was a bit uncomfortable. The room was very small and had no proper ventilation, so it felt quite stuffy.

Breakfast at the café was great, though a wider selection would be appreciated. The room was comfortable, but the lighting felt a bit too warm. The interior design was excellent, and overall, I would definitely stay here again.

The shampoo and conditioner provided were disappointing- the conditioner felt more like shampoo and left my hair quite rough after use. It would also be appreciated if the room included a kettle and some tea bags for added convenience.

The entire team is very welcoming, friendly and responsive. I enjoyed it so much here that I extended a few times. The bar offers excellent coffee and vibe-y playlists. Location-wise it's perfect for exploring.

The king and suite rooms are just two beds pushed together, so I actually preferred the den (lower category). Very few electrical outlets and small quarters, and shower tends to wet the entire bathroom floor. Many corporate events in the bar and restaurant limit guest access to areas outside of the room. Would be nice to have more common spaces to accommodate everyone.

As it is an old building it has character. Good sized room with very comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts included with great coffee. Full English in an iron frying pan sets you up for the day. Very convenient to the monorail and other stations so great location. Can get to the hop on hop off bus short walk to Chow Kit stop.

The evening meals are expensive compared to other restaurants and unfortunately the mushroom and eggplant was highly spiced which spoiled the meal. Should have checked. This is really separate to the hotel review.

Check out time is too early between 12-1pm but if you check out late you will get charged NOT much but mostly hotels will not charge if your flight delay or something different reason

All toilet didn't have any bidet which leads to a bad smell especially lobby toilets , the room was too small two people not even can walk , toilet also small and tiles in the toilet looks dirty and smelly too , food was so so only

The city with train passing by the window. The bed was comfortable and the AC was cold enough.

The trees outside the room blocked the view and the curtains also blocked the view partially. There should be a rope to bind the curtains so that it won't block the view.

Really nicely decorated boutique hotel with very comfortable beds!

Check-in and check-out were quick. The hotel lobby/restaurant as well as the room had a nice decor and beds were comfortable. Food at breakfast (set (main plus drink), not a buffet breakfast, tried the crabmeat shakshuka and fresh pineapple juice) and dinner (tried A Taste of Chow Kit) were reasonably varied and delicious. In-room hand wash, shower gel, shampoo felt and smelt good - apparently a no nasties special blend by Jeanie Botanicals for the hotel.

Hotel overall a bit dim. A kettle can be provided by the hotel upon request but no tea/coffee, cups, saucers or teaspoons are provided. This is quite strange for a Malaysian hotel in this price range. The front door latch to our room did not work and had to be repaired- this was quickly addressed. The pump for the shampoo bottle in the bathroom couldn't work properly and had to be replaced. The hotel generally took quite a bit of time to send someone over to our room attend to housekeeping issues. At times, no one answered our telephone calls. No bedside sockets. No bidet in the bathroom which is also quite strange for a Malaysian hotel. A few clothes hooks in the bathroom would be nice. Toilet roll provided but there was no toilet roll holder (very strange or could it be that it is broken?). Dinner (A Taste of Chow Kit - only appetizers and mains, no dessert) although delicious was on the pricey side (RM220++). Needless to say, I won't be rushing back to eat here again. Parking (RM15/night, multiple entries, beside the hotel) is limited. It can be inconvenient if it rains (lots of puddles to negotiate), especially if you have luggage.

The hotel is beautiful and very well located. We asked for a room facing the parking lot so as to not face the busy road intersection and were very happy with this as we had views of greenery in the distance. And you can still observe the very cool monorail passing by from the stairs at the end of the hallway. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. Two monorail stations are within walking distance. We would recommend this hotel for a visit to KL!

The breakfasts were a bit small. The stairs are dark at night and could be dangerous for someone with poor eyesight. The terrace is incredible but there's nowhere to sit.

Room is not totally soundproof as I could hear noises from the hall / sounds of people talking and doors closing in the hallway. If you’re a light sleeper, may need to avoid the rooms facing the road.

Stayed from 19–20, originally booked The King Den and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to The TowKay Suite — a strong first impression and a definite plus. The hotel’s interior design is outstanding. Rich, dark tones, classic detailing, and a very refined “old money / Kingsman” aesthetic that feels intentional rather than performative. It’s stylish, mature, and confidently understated. The rooms are well-equipped, amenities are solid, and the location is convenient without feeling chaotic. Another standout: motorcycle-friendly parking. Easy access, no unnecessary friction — something riders will genuinely appreciate.

That said, there are two notable drawbacks: 1. Bed configuration – For a room marketed as a Suite, the bed being two single beds pushed together is disappointing. This affected sleep quality, especially for someone with a slipped disc. A proper queen or king bed should be standard at this tier. 2. Bathroom setup – While clean and visually pleasing, the absence of a bidet/nozzle was surprising and disappointing, particularly for a hotel in Malaysia where this is typically expected.

Elegant room but very small with little space for one never mind two guests. The glazed windows towards the courtyard makes the room feel even tinier. Air conditioning could be quieter.

The breakfast was good, and the location is very convenient—close to the monorail station. The room was quite small, but I loved the ambiance of the hotel.

I expected the room to have an LRT view, but what I got was a room with no view and no window at all. Parking was very limited, and as guests, we still had to pay for it.

Personally, I don't have any complaints. I love it. The single bed is super comfortable. The ambient is relaxing. I like the Body, Hand wash and conditioner. Relaxing fragant. I got lucky when I book a room, I book it during the Black Friday discount. Hopefully I will get the discount again! 😂 Great staff....all of them Love it.

Restaurant staff a bit over familiar and attempt to be funny misses the mark.

The property is located in the central part of KL. Going everywhere is nearby. The room is nice and value for money. Love the restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is amazing and food is good.

It would have been nice if there are more lights. The room is quite dark at night. If you can add in some hooks in the toilet for towels and clothes would be nice. There were no basic coffee or tea facilities.

Quality breakfast to wake up to and resting in small yet comfy and soothing room.
