The city with train passing by the window. The bed was comfortable and the AC was cold enough.

The trees outside the room blocked the view and the curtains also blocked the view partially. There should be a rope to bind the curtains so that it won't block the view.

Check-in and check-out were quick. The hotel lobby/restaurant as well as the room had a nice decor and beds were comfortable. Food at breakfast (set (main plus drink), not a buffet breakfast, tried the crabmeat shakshuka and fresh pineapple juice) and dinner (tried A Taste of Chow Kit) were reasonably varied and delicious. In-room hand wash, shower gel, shampoo felt and smelt good - apparently a no nasties special blend by Jeanie Botanicals for the hotel.

Hotel overall a bit dim. A kettle can be provided by the hotel upon request but no tea/coffee, cups, saucers or teaspoons are provided. This is quite strange for a Malaysian hotel in this price range. The front door latch to our room did not work and had to be repaired- this was quickly addressed. The pump for the shampoo bottle in the bathroom couldn't work properly and had to be replaced. The hotel generally took quite a bit of time to send someone over to our room attend to housekeeping issues. At times, no one answered our telephone calls. No bedside sockets. No bidet in the bathroom which is also quite strange for a Malaysian hotel. A few clothes hooks in the bathroom would be nice. Toilet roll provided but there was no toilet roll holder (very strange or could it be that it is broken?). Dinner (A Taste of Chow Kit - only appetizers and mains, no dessert) although delicious was on the pricey side (RM220++). Needless to say, I won't be rushing back to eat here again. Parking (RM15/night, multiple entries, beside the hotel) is limited. It can be inconvenient if it rains (lots of puddles to negotiate), especially if you have luggage.

The hotel is beautiful and very well located. We asked for a room facing the parking lot so as to not face the busy road intersection and were very happy with this as we had views of greenery in the distance. And you can still observe the very cool monorail passing by from the stairs at the end of the hallway. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. Two monorail stations are within walking distance. We would recommend this hotel for a visit to KL!

The breakfasts were a bit small. The stairs are dark at night and could be dangerous for someone with poor eyesight. The terrace is incredible but there's nowhere to sit.

Breakfast can be better, the pulled beef was very spicy. The Shaksukha was very underwhelming. There was no swimming or gym.

Room is not totally soundproof as I could hear noises from the hall / sounds of people talking and doors closing in the hallway. If you’re a light sleeper, may need to avoid the rooms facing the road.

Stayed from 19–20, originally booked The King Den and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to The TowKay Suite — a strong first impression and a definite plus. The hotel’s interior design is outstanding. Rich, dark tones, classic detailing, and a very refined “old money / Kingsman” aesthetic that feels intentional rather than performative. It’s stylish, mature, and confidently understated. The rooms are well-equipped, amenities are solid, and the location is convenient without feeling chaotic. Another standout: motorcycle-friendly parking. Easy access, no unnecessary friction — something riders will genuinely appreciate.

That said, there are two notable drawbacks: 1. Bed configuration – For a room marketed as a Suite, the bed being two single beds pushed together is disappointing. This affected sleep quality, especially for someone with a slipped disc. A proper queen or king bed should be standard at this tier. 2. Bathroom setup – While clean and visually pleasing, the absence of a bidet/nozzle was surprising and disappointing, particularly for a hotel in Malaysia where this is typically expected.

Elegant room but very small with little space for one never mind two guests. The glazed windows towards the courtyard makes the room feel even tinier. Air conditioning could be quieter.

The breakfast was good, and the location is very convenient—close to the monorail station. The room was quite small, but I loved the ambiance of the hotel.

I expected the room to have an LRT view, but what I got was a room with no view and no window at all. Parking was very limited, and as guests, we still had to pay for it.

Personally, I don't have any complaints. I love it. The single bed is super comfortable. The ambient is relaxing. I like the Body, Hand wash and conditioner. Relaxing fragant. I got lucky when I book a room, I book it during the Black Friday discount. Hopefully I will get the discount again! 😂 Great staff....all of them Love it.

The toilet do not have bidet. Only this one. But can be forgiven🤭

The property is located in the central part of KL. Going everywhere is nearby. The room is nice and value for money. Love the restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is amazing and food is good.

It would have been nice if there are more lights. The room is quite dark at night. If you can add in some hooks in the toilet for towels and clothes would be nice. There were no basic coffee or tea facilities.

The hotel is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The room was okay for me as a solo traveler, though it felt a bit small. Everything was clean and well. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. I really appreciated that they allowed me to check out at 1 p.m., which was important for me. The location, however, is perfect!

My only ick is that there were no amenities such as slippers or a sanitary bag etc, which I usually find necessary in other hotels. As for the breakfast, it wasn’t the best in my opinion. I don’t mind that it’s à la carte, but the options weren’t very appealing, and the one I tried I didn’t enjoy. I also don’t like wasting food, so I had to finish it. Additionally, having only one drink option (either coffee or juice) wasn’t ideal — I would have preferred both.

Breakfast was not good , serving like restaurant pre set meal with limited choice and need to add money to have some food . Who say is great breakfast in other previous reviews ?

The food of the hotel is delicious especially nasi ulam however as we missed the set lunch and as it was our last day , we had to order ala carte and it was to my opinion overly priced , the location is superb as it’s nearby all the hipster cafes , shopping malls and monorail was very nearby I really appreciate that the hotel room lobby has a water cooler and water was also given in the room. Iron and kettle is also available upon request.

The only I didn’t like was the lighting of the room and the space. Though the overall hotel outlook gives out the romantic vibes , I prefer the lighting in the room to be bright as when applying make up and packing, it’s important to have a good lighting. The space for standard room is to cramp for 2 persons and not convenient to pray for 2 persons in the room due to the space

The hotel is super basic.

The staff at the reception were very friendly and patient. Staff at the restaurant were polite. Door man was very helpful in assisting me to get a car during heavy rainfall.

The room we got was a sizeable corner room with nice views and natural light, and the design of the hotel overall was really nice. There's a restaurant on the ground floor that serves local dishes with a twist -- the fresh kaya was exceptional, we wish we could've bought a bottle to take with us!

The rooms didn't have simple amenities that would've elevated the experience, like a selection of tea/coffee in the rooms, toothbrushes, a kettle.

The room is good, and surprisingly sound proof although the location of hotel in just on the main street ( BONUS point!) Another thing worth shout out: The crew thoughtfully prepare breakfast for me for my early flight, although it's before their shift start. Lot of thanks for the crew!

The facilities are good - room and bedding was very comfortable, there is a water dispenser near the elevator on each floor and the staff are very friendly. There is a gated parking area for hotel guests (flat rate RM15 per day), but if that is full, there is a public car park nearby that offers a similar rate.

We can really recommend this hotel. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive and polite. The rooms were a little noisy, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The food is also very tasty! So all in all very nice experience!

I venture to KL quite a bit, and always enjoy staying in Chow Kit - the place offers something different from the rest of KL. The hotel itself is clean, lovely room, friendly staff, nice food.

The Chow Kit hotel is a great place to stay if you’re deep in the city, with a great restaurant/bar downstairs, it makes for a good time to stay short or long! This place will definitely compliment your taste in aesthetics if you’re looking for it.

The room sizes are pretty standard, which makes sense for the location in KL.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was great and the bed was very comfortable.

Room was not serviced until very late in the day which made it very awkward as we were back at the hotel after a day out.

I like the property but just wanted to suggest to add some hook on the wall near the door for jackets, trash bin near the sink, add some toiletries like comb, cotton buds, toothbrush and toothpaste, lotion and hand cream. The TV keeps being taken over by other guests connecting through Bluetooth while watching.

The staff were happy and the restaurant was good.
