Lovely decor, delicious breakfast

You could hear when people closed their room doors

Very clean and comfortable room in an elegant, historic hotel. We reserved one of the less expensive rooms with twin beds, which was fine if you don't mind a window with opaque glass facing an interior light well. The food and drinks at their restaurant were very good, as well.

Not a big deal for us, but the cheaper rooms don't have windows with views. The windows are opaque and face a light well.

its close to monorail station they have good coffee its close to Quill shopping mall the room i had was very quiet which i really like shower was good could be more tv channels ie movie channels

It’s a bit dim at night especially the lift lobby ….the staircase beside the lift lobby is dark. The water dispenser flow strength is slow. The room is a bit small for the price .

Love the interior, their bath amenities smelled great! and the bed was comfyyy. Please dine at the hotel, food is wonderful!

Small room, no bidet and no wardrobe

Room very small

2nd time staying here. The room was not that big but can fit the 3 of us without extra bed because no space but we make do by sleeping at the sofa and we needed extra pillow, blanket and towel for my daughter. Everything was in working condition. Breakfast was great. The ambience.

Although the boutique hotel has won many awards, still the room was lacking kettle, complimentary coffee tea and utensils. We need to request all that but still NO tea coffee..ONLY drinking water..the price was expensive and lacking basic amenities as a hotel. Please improve.

I like the feel of the hotel and interior

It’s so close to Monorail (Medan Tuanku), shopping mall (Quill City Mall), and other attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful. We’re quite lucky to have an upgraded room as the room that we supposed to stay, the aircond wasn’t cold. The room is clean as well. Even though you need to pay RM15 for the parking, but you can validate it and can go in and out as many times as you want for the whole stay and we could go around KL.

The lightings are so romantic. But i guess that’s how the hotel was designed. The music in the lift is so loud. Don’t get it why it needs to be that loud. I think, if the breakfast is buffet style, it’d be better.

The hotel restaurant has AMAZING food. I liked the curtains in the room, was really good at blocking out light and despite it being next to two main roads you don't hear any sound cause of the double windows. Also great pillows!

The bedsheet situation wasn't my favourite and the bathroom was a little annoying. No shower door so water gets everywhere.

Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

Some parts of the room are too dark. Bed was sunken. Breakfast coffee or tea is not refillable and is charged for every extra cup.

Loved every moment. Super boutique hotel. Almost too good to want to go out. Really comfy bed, slept well and loved the lounge area to have coffee in the morning. You feel relaxed just walking in the door. Great design, they truly understand a travellers needs. Ticked all the boxes.

It’s not a criticism- more a request- I stayed 4 nights and ate dinner each night in the restaurant- I’m a vegetarian I like to eat healthy food. I felt the menu catered more for fine dining - quite a lot was deep fried. I’d like to see some simple healthy food, home cooking style, and vegetarian options included for guests eating in. I did eat the salad which was fantastic.

Big airy room and friendly staff

On a very main road. Room had nowhere to store clothes and bathroom had very little shelf space - not enough for two people. Also description of view was embellished.

I recently stayed at the Chow Kit for 3 nights with my girlfriend. I picked the hotel because I wanted to make it a special occasion for us and booked the very large Tokay Soh Suite. Because of the price for this room and previous reviews I had very high expectations for the hotel, all were met. The hotel is small and simple but it is very elegant and the details of the design were immaculate and charming. The room was extremely large by South East Asian standards. The view from the floor to ceiling windows was spectacular and the bed and linens were exceptionally comfortable. Everyone working at this property was very attentive and friendly, especially the doorman. But I did want to highlight one person who really stood out. There was a gentleman in the restaurant named Edward (I’m writing this review after a few weeks so I hope I am not mistaken about his name) and he was one of the highlights of our stay. This man is an exceptional host and was wonderful to converse with. I hope that the hotel does everything they can to retain him with their company and let him grow in their business. You can stay at many fancy places and receive great service at par for the price but he really stood out in just how genuinely friendly and hospitable he was. The bartender also makes a fine cappuccino and the kitchen staff prepared and presented everything very nicely. I would absolutely recommend The Chow Kit to anyone visiting KL under similar circumstances.

My only critique would be that the rooms do not have a bum gun or tea kettle and these items are very standard in Asia.

Restaurant

Everything about the Ormond is wonderful. The breakfast, the staff, the room.

I had no water for half day on my second day. The staff apologized but it still did ruin the experience a bit. Not to mention the water was brown even when it normalized.

The pillows were too big and uncomfortable for both my partner and i. It caused abit of pain.

I like the colour combination of green + gold + black as the main theme colour of this hotel. Also the concept of this hotel is kinda old-school but elegant and nostalgic. I remember staying at this hotel 4 years back and now they still maintain the high standard they had previously. Music in the elevator is catchy. Bed is comfy. The shampoo and body conditioner are fragrantly nice! Always a pleasure staying in this hotel. Looking forward staying here again the next time I'm having staycation or special occasion.

The size of the room a bit small for that kind of price, but the view from the bed was excellent though. I'm not sure whether this hotel can be considered as child friendly, however it would be nice if baby chair is provided during breakfast time. Breakfast not so tasty as I had 4 years ago. It was a bit bland to be honest. Parking should be free for hotel guest, not to charge RM 15 per day.

The hotel and room was good, but the only thing that give it minus only aircond. It takes long to get cold.

Well appointed quiet rooms.

Strategic location in the middle of the city.

1. The parking is charged for those staying at the hotel. 2. The bidet faucet is too far from the toilet seat. 3. No gymnasium, no swimming pool, no library.

Location near to MRT and many cafes at The Row - walking distance in 5-10mins. Parking is outside the hotel with flatrate of RM15 per entrance, you can validate at hotel. Staffs were really helpful, offered me to keep my car at carpark even after i checkout so i can take my time strolling around the city.

Room is bit smaller, lighting in the room a bit dim. Location of the hotel - heavy traffic during peak hours.

The interior and exterior of the hotel attracted me in the first place. The room was great and comfortable with a stunning KL Rapid view!

The location is quite strategic to go anywhere, also near the train station

Took the kings den, very small not suitable for family even with one small toddler space is a bit tight. Will recommend bigger rooms instead. Love the warn lighting but will appreciate if have more lighting options similar to normal hotels.

The Chow Kit Hotel is very stylish in a great central location and near transport. My room was beautifully designed and soundproofed, with a huge very comfortable bed and heavy curtains - I had a great sleep. The staff were so lovely and helpful, and the breakfast good.

The only minor thing I didn't like was the musak that I found a bit loud and everywhere, even lifts and corridors.

Nicely refurbished / reconstructed old building. Art Deco style. Room 519 was great. Nice view to old and new KL. Very kind staff with excellent recommendations for exploiting neighborhood - even for China town area… REXKL👍👍👍

I like everything about the hotel especially the location and cleanliness and water filter.

No bidet in the toilet. Stairs are not lighted, very dark.

Everything about this hotel is so aesthetic! the ambience was worth it, the location is just 6 mins away from Sogo KL, 4 mins away from 7E, so it was perfect! From the lobby to the room, it brings you to the 1800 vibes, even the light switch was so creative, i just love it! cons: the traffic here in chow kit was really bad so please book grab 20 mins early from your usual timing because they will stuck in a jam/traffic light.

no facial tissue or toothbrush and toothpaste was provided just like normal hotel. the parking is rm15 per day, which is would i say should be free considering we’re staying at the hotel. the room which is The Den was a bit small so i would suggest to just book King Den instead if you like bigger room

Amazing Location - both for on foot explorations as well as skyrail access. Incredible value for money.
