Fabulous breakfast but no outlook due to scaffolding & renovation work

Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff

We stayed in one of the recently refurbished rooms. The bathroom was exceptional in size and had great areas to place items. (sadly lacking in many other high end hotels). The bed was comfortable, room size good. Location excellent. Considering major refurbishment going on at the hotel there was not much noise or inconvienience. The staff very willing to help & please. Exceptional service from the front desk for booking a private boat tour ahead of our visit and car to take us to the airport and pick us up from a lunch restaurant. The included lounge access we had was enjoyed.

The pillows were a bit stiff. No coffee machine in the room a big disappointment, room service for pot of coffee would have included a 12 euro charge on top of the coffee. No full length or short mirror in the room at all. Room lighting needs fixing as it was impossible to have one bedside light on at a time or any of the other lights in the room under a different control-it was all lights on or nothing! Auto night lights were annoying as they can come on even if you turn over in bed! The staff were aware of these issues and looking to resolve them. The in room portable steamer, a very useful item, however it was a very poor model that was difficult to fill and only lasted (if you were lucky!) for one item. The hotel is looking to change these out as already had some complaints. Front access to the hotel not great whilst refurbishment going on but, apart from trying to find it, didn't really cause us a problem. Its a shame the great restaurant and bar still out of action.

This hotel is absolutely first class. Lovely staff, superb well appointed comfortable, spacious clean room. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Absolutely brilliant…hope we can come back. Loved it.

The room is very big and newly renovated. Location is hard to beat as it is in the city centre. Breakfast is alright.

Hotel is doing renovating work so some facilities are closed and there may be construction noises in the day.

The atmosphere and service were luxurious and worthy of a first-class hotel. Very good location, close from the central station, middle of the city center. I arrived to the hotel at 6 am(because my flight from Tokyo arrived 4:00am!) and my room was perfectly ready. I was able to check in early at 6am with no additional charges! Spa was great too.

The cafe was closed because of renovation.

Room was great, but could do with a working desk.

The Notes restaurant was very average. Toast Skagen was great, but the Entrecote was actually very low quality meat. Wine list small and not that good. Breakfast average

We liked everything. Our room was cosy; it was the first time when I felt at home in a hotel. I tried SPA treatments, and they were on a good level, too. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. We came right after Christmas, and the hotel was beautifully decorated. So many things have been included, which is what to be expected from a 5-star hotel: shower cap, soft bath robes and slippers, bath salts, nice capsule coffee machine (we didn't use though). The breakfast was very nice with good selection and food quality. I particularly liked old-styled porridge with dry fruits (I didn't try such before, but I'm pretty sure it's how it tasted when the hotel was founded 137 years ago) and that tasty cappuccino was included into the price.

The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment in terms of food (otherwise, great service and look). The food was cooked so slowly and was OK taste-wise, but we expected better based on our other experiences with the hotel.

There was maintenance on-going during our stay, breakfast area was in temporary area. Compared to our previous stay breakfast felt a little down scaled. We would have liked knowing about the maintenance in advance while / before booking.

Restaurant was cold

Centrally located. Beautiful hotel currently undergoing renovation but this doesn’t impact the overall services and enjoyment, no loud machines etc, just slightly hidden entrance and less than scenic outlook from some windows. Staff, cleanliness, rooms, food etc are all outstanding.

Unfortunately the beautiful winter terrace was closed during the renovation so we couldn’t eat there. The temporary restaurant is very nice however. The water to our bath wasn’t hot enough and due to it being a Sunday no workmen were available. We were offered a change of room though.

The wonderful staff went over and above to help us at all times, including suggestions for restaurants (and then booking), making sure we were familiar with the hotel and the surrounding area, but generally.....super friendly and efficient.

Nothing to report here! There were building works going on to update the restaurants, however the way the hotel organized the temporary restaurant and bar was terrific.

The staff were amazing and this includes the bell person and the cleaning people. The breakfast was wonderful and all the serving staff were very friendly. Location perfect.

I was disappointed that they did not notify me that they are doing construction around and in the hotel. I was not there with a conference or a tour. I picked this historic hotel for its historic charm with the restaurant, bar and staircase. None of which I could use. I also had early weekday noise in my room from the outside construction. Frankly, the hotel should be offering discounts. The staff were absolutely amazing.

Location, majestic architecture with all the modern amenities!

The air conditioning in the room wasn't cooling, and the only bed covers were so thick. We had some hot and not so comfortable nights.

Outstanding location. Loved the sauna facilities. Staff was exceptional. Plenty of nearby restaurants. Extremely walkable area with a beautiful park nearby.

Finish the construction and get the scaffolding out of the way!

Great location, lovely bar area with excellent food, friendly accommodating staff who gave us superb recommendations. We had massages in the spa area and they were excellent.

We liked everything

We stay at the Kämp every year and love it ~ location and staff are unbeatable.

This year we stayed in the new rooms on the ninth floor, which received mixed reviews from our family. The spaciousness was lovely but the grey colour scheme was rather miserable for such luxurious rooms. The view was a construction site on both sides and will not in our view be very beautiful when completed. This seems a missed opportunity in a property on such a historic site.

Hote Kamp is the epitome of excellence. The location is ideal, food exquisite, and my room was large and well appointed. The staff was more than friendly and always went out of their way to assist and accommodate any question or need I had.

I have nothing negative to say about the hotel. It was one of the best stays I have ever had in my 25 years of international travel.

Stayed around the world and this hotel has really got it right. Highest quality service and very well appointed. There was a big crane outside our room but they upgraded us to a suite, so it wasn't an issue being in a larger room.

Perfect location, room, staff and excellent breakfast

Not too far from train and bus station. You can walk a couple of blocks to get there. We took uber first to get there due to having luggage and snow. It closes to everything. The entire hotel, every corner and details are elegant European styles. Breakfast is amazing. We loved every moment there. We especially loved eating in the glass eating area looking out. All I can say is WOW! We missed afternoon tea and refreshment time due to busy sight seeing.

Best hotel in Finland!

The rooms are comfortable, the staff is very nice and the breakfast is wonderful. The location is also convenient to many shops, cafes and sights.

Classic hotel in the best location in Helsinki. We were in the historic wing and the rooms were lovely, traditional and more spacious. Breakfast was wonderful. We normally don’t eat dinner at a hotel, but we were jet-lagged. What a beautiful experience Brasserie Kamp was. We sat in the glass pavilion having a light dinner gazing out at the Esplahade as the snow fell.

The staff was first rate! Service at every level was excellent. Location was perfect for access to the main sites of Helsinki. The room was quite small by American standards but normal for Europe. The Hotel is well over 100 years old but perfectly maintained. You can feel the history. Breakfast was excellent. The variety of options was fabulous.

The dinner options in the restaurant could be larger.
