Malmaison Hotel, Glasgow

Room had a mezzanine level - very quirky. Bed was very comfortable, clean towels and bed linen. Room had all the facilities you would need for a short stay.

Shower wasn't great water pressure and the plug in the sink in bathroom didn't work correctly. Took a very long time for the water to run cold as well. TV in lounge didn't work properly.

Staff on arrival and throughout stay were incredibly helpful - easily arranged for us to store baggage etc there as our room wasn't ready when we arrived early. When we came back to check in that afternoon the lady at reception was lovely and as our room wasn't ready she arranged us free drinks in the bar until she came and found us. She also took our suitcase to the room for us so it was there for us when we got in. The room was lovely, really spacious and great comfy bed. Would be better if there were plugs by the bedside tables as this is always handy but not the biggest deal. Unfortunately our bathroom was a bit dirty when we arrived with a few stray hairs left around (yuck). But we spoke to the lady at reception again and she arranged for it to be cleaned so can't fault the service at all.

Cleanliness of bathroom let it down a little - had to request that it be cleaned again.

I woke early and wanted to read but you couldn’t have lights on by the chair without a spotlight being on the bed

The staff. All were very helpful, friendly and professional. Good location, great bar and really nice breakfast

Our room was dark. Also, we were offered an Eco option of drinks at the bar in place of our rooms being serviced but in hindsight we would have preferred to have had our rooms lightly cleaned as we were here for four nights and it meant keep getting supplies from reception and using our towels to dry our used coffee cups and making our own bed whilst on holiday!

Wonderfully warm welcome from the receptionist. Bar staff really friendly, efficient and professional. Lovely relaxed bar to sit and have gorgeous cocktails in. Had lunch the next day - top class service and food. All round outstanding service from start to finish. Good location for city centre - 5/10 min walk from the hustle and bustle.

The dark grey room decor not my taste and I found it a bit gloomy along with the lighting but personal taste so not an issue.

The room was fine, bed was fine, room was warmer than we would have like and we could not see any way of controlling it but we were out most of the time so lived with it.

As noted a bit warm. We went for the eco option so our room was not cleaned while we there. This was fine but we did notice the bin got full so it might be an idea to provide guests in this situation with an extra binbag that they can place outside their room that can be scooped up as the daily cleaning gets done in the hotel.

The Staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. The room was good size with everything we needed.

A maid service was missed on the 2nd day, but we were compensated for that.

Fab staff, lovely evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Room spacious, bed comfortable, linen thread great, Arran toiletries lovely. Location central.

Room radiator had been on full and it was too hot n stuffy. Lighting in restaurant was too dark .. had to use phone light to read menu. But that’s being picky because everything else was excellent

lots of little things, really sophisticated air conditioning but too close to the bed with a controller that was really bright and no obvious way of turning the light off. room was a little dark and tired. we didn't get the water replaced for the second night.

Bar / restaurant lacked atmosphere - probably too far out from the city centre

it was nice to be near to the city centre and be able to walk to where we wanted to go and the staff were nice to.

the room looked like it hadn't been hoovered for a day or two.
