Rooms looking a little tired now. No fridge. Little temperature control (room was too warm). Lack of a gym.

Staff were lovely and our room was upgraded for free

Very comfortable clean rooms. Bar lovely and a great cooked breakfast.

Room was overheated so didn't sleep well.we overlooked the bar roof and rain pinged off it all night...nothing could be done about rain but just a constant noise.

Wonderful location, very friendly staff and excellent value for money. What's not to like. Breakfast was fantastic, the best scrambled eggs ever!!

Andrew on reception was fantastic, spent time to ensure we were aware of all facilities and greeted us with a big smile which made us all feel welcome immediately. Really pleased gentleman

Decor wise we found it all very dark . To us this felt dingy rather than cosy

Poor coffee at breakfast and exorbitant price. We only had breakfast on the final day for convenience.

The style is great, the staff friendly and professional. Breakfast is well presented and good.

The entry level double room is small and the bathroom is particularly cramped. The room lighting is full on with no way to create a less bright ambience.

Somehow the cold water was very warm. Didn't feel safe or pleasant to drink or to make coffee with it. The same pipes were also quite noisy and pressurised and would spray water and air when I opened the tap after a few hours of staying closed.

The staff were personable and professional, the Staycation package was great value and the room and public areas had personality and met 4* standards.

Some absolutely excellent staff at both front desk and the restaurant at breakfast who were friendly and happy to help at all times. The food at breakfast was excellent. The bed was really comfy and I had a great night's sleep.

There was a bar tender serving when we came down who was turned with his back to us watching the football on the TV very intensely. I know that he knew we were there as we it's a small area and we were only a meter or so away so he was deliberately ignoring us until we said excuse me. When he did turn round he looked quite grumpy and delivered fairly frosty service before returning to the TV screen. I would expect this attitude from staff at McDonald's but not Malmaison. The front desk staff and breakfast staff were absolutely amazing and faultless 10/10. I was slightly disappointed with the club room as it seemed the size I would expect for a standard room at Malmaison and didn't have the extra small luxuries I'd expect e.g. the bath tub was still too small for me to actually use as a six foot tall person so I was disappointed not to have a bath. The tap was also terrible and only produced a trickle so took ages each time you filled the kettle or washed your hands etc. the water pressure in the shower was also pretty bad which I would not expect in a luxury hotel

Location was ideal

The upgraded room 552 , was a good price but a very impractical room , with poor lighting on stairs , bedroom up stairs , bathroom down was a bit of strange one.. Tee/coffee making was a little over the place as only 1 power point up stairs .. shower had 2 temps, scalding or freezing. And weirdly the light coming off the air con was like a full beam car at night.. we enjoyed our stay but feel that room was just a little bit all over the place and may need looked at.

Room facilities as travelling with dog was great as dog given own bed and toys plus treats. Bar facilities for dining was useful as had dog. All staff friendly and made big fuss of our dog. The bed was comfy and large.

It was warm and quiet. Exactly what we needed. The receptionist was trembly friendly and helpful.

The bar had hardly audible music on and no atmosphere.
