Malmaison Hotel, Glasgow

Location very good and breakfast fine if not cheap

The cost was very high for a pretty small room

Staff were very helpful, couldn't have been better. Breakfast was first class. Facilities in the room were good with a wide range of TV stations available, including Sky Sports.

The room was small and now a bit dated. We stayed at Mal Maison a few years ago, and it was luxurious. Now the room was less so. It didn't feel totally clean as well, including the bed linen. Possibly in need of a refurb.

We upgraded to a suite which gave us an additional room with comfortable settees. Really made a difference to our stay.

Decor. Is dark, which is very nice but it means there are dark areas. We particularly noticed inside the wardrobe could have done with a bit of light inside.

I liked everything only slight complaint was I put my breakfast menu on my door nite before and it wasn’t taken, I should of said at reception but I was in a rush to get to a work course , but minor complaint , apart from that 10/10

The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially on reception.

In places it felt quite dated. The lighting in the restaurant was quite dark; sort of ok at dinner, but awkward at breakfast.

The staff at Malmaison were exceptional, especially Dominic the front of house manager. I was in Glasgow to visit my brother who has serious health issues, without a defined departure programme. The staff were extremely understanding and helped us to extend our stay when we needed to in the best conditions. We also arrived with three miniature chihuahuas and were made to feel very welcome and fully supported. Malmaison is comfortable, stylish and has a lovely breakfast room and small outside terrace. There is an atmospheric bar and dining area which is perfect for working with a computer or meeting friends. The staff are kind and warm and made our stay as comfortable as it could be given the circumstances. I would definitely return here on another trip to Glasgow.

Chez Mal dining room is a bit dark.

Room was beautiful with large bed. Carpet a little dated and bathroom could do with updating a little. Overall very comfortable and pleasant stay

Nice Room, Should really have booked a Twin. Parking was on Street. Just had to Pay the Meter. Decoration Modern, Perhaps Dark. Glass Water bottles a nice touch instead of Plastic. Change from the Norm.

I didn't realise the parking was on street. But there are Muti Storey Car Parks within walking distance. All amenities are close by (Walking distance) for shopping and Tesco's etc close and open late as city centre shopping as are bars and restaurants. Easy access to roads heading North. Main Stadiums , Celtic Park and Ibrox not to far of a drive away too.

We loved the theme of this hotel - we enjoyed our breakfast it was plentiful - the staff were extremely pleasant & helpful - we had a very nice room with a comfortable bed… & there are plans to refurbish this property… with this in mind & once completed we would stay at Malmaison again.

We found the floor of our room noisy & sadly the room was too dark… this is noticed throughout the property & is part of the ambient feel that reflects the style that they were aiming for… However the dining room was far too dark, Our Dinner was okay but not worth the price paid… Once again the staff were amazing especially at reception - finally there was no parking close to the hotel.

No facecloths in the bathroom. There were toiletries which were nice but no body lotion. I was travelling light and hoped to rely on what the hotel provided. No air conditioning just a fan which was REALLY noisy. Final thing, room was so dark which made it difficult to put make up on. I know it's in keeping with the decor but a mirror light would be good.

The hotel was lovely with excellent bar, restaurant. Food was good. Staff were all truly lovely and helpful. The room was really nice. Location rather lovely. Handy for walking to various places across the city.

It was hot and sunny in Glasgow during my stay (no offence Glaswegians), but this was unusual!!! So the room was hot and impossible to cool down. This meant I just couldn’t sleep. I’ve had this in all the uk hotels I stayed in this trip. A lighter summer duvet or just counterpane, a fan, and the potential to open windows more than a crack would really help as the climate heats up.

It was a nice clean room with a comfortable bed and good pillows. I was pleased that a fridge was provided, even in a small space. The curtains were of good quality, blocking out light when needed. The decor was attractive and furnishings were high quality. Nice Arran bathroom products were provided.

I really needed a top sheet, as with the lovely weather I’ve experienced in Scotland, the cosy duvets were just too warm. I was worried that I would hear the lift throughout the night being right next to it, but it was not a problem.

Reception staff were fantastic, comfy beds, clean bathroom, nice linen, good location.

No air con. Windows barely opened. Fan provided but very little air flow. Couldn’t sleep due to heat. Pillows not comfortable.

There was quite a bit of noise from the outside bar terrace of the hotel next door. The large sash window of the bedroom was open at the top and I had quite a bit of bother getting it to close. The noise did subside later on though.

The Malmaison was a lovely, comfortable hotel with all the amenities and was close to a number of restaurants.

It was a bit further from the train station than I'd calculated.

We had some noise in our room. But the reception staff sorted it out the staff are fantastic.

Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel bar was a great spot to grab a drink after being out for the day, and the bar staff were friendly.

The staff at the front desk were pleasant, but there was room for some additional warmth and interaction.

The style and ambience of the hotel, the staff were nice, pleasant and helpful. It had a homely feeling and I can imagine it being cosy on a cold Scottish winter's night.

Lighting in room was lacking, should be lamp, light over coffee area in club room instead of full room light required. Music in restaurant was a little heavy for dinner, but may have been a shared speaker with the bar?

Food very good both evening meal and breakfast. Common areas are looking a bit tired.

We had to book somewhere in Glasgow City Centre that was dog-friendly at the last minute. Mamaison saved the day. The staff were helpful & friendly & both if us (& our dog Tracey) enjoyed our stay.

Our room view was of the hotel bottle bins...however, given the difficult circumstances thrust upon us, & our extremely last-minute booking, we were happy with how our trip turned out.

The reception staff were lovely and check in went very quickly. Lots of emails ahead of time to make it happen quickly. The room was lovely, clean and quiet. The toiletries were a pleasant bonus as I love the Arran Aromatics range.

The cost to have breakfast is outrageous even at such a nice hotel. We kept our money and went to a local cafe instead.

All great but the tv didn't work

I liked that they provided a cot for the baby, even though he just slept in the big bed with us. The reception lent us a uk plug for free. The fridge was big enough for a few water and soda bottles. Nice and sizeable desk to work on a laptop. Very high ceiling, the room was nice and big. I liked the overall vibe of the room and the dark theme.

The floor is wooden so it creaks with every step and you can hear people walking around. The creaking is very loud. It was frustrating with a sleeping baby that naps during the day. I did not like the ceiling lights, it was a spotlight at the center of the room. The water temperature in the shower was not great, but it was fixed by a plumber later in our stay.

Central location, the main area of Glasgow was in walking distance and local transport. Bed was comfortable. Enjoyed having a fridge.
