Staff were polite, professional and friendly. Location is great. Beds were really good.

Bathroom needed a shaving mirror and better ventilation.

The rooms are amazing, plenty space. Bar area is lovely aswell

Great little hotel with nice staff. Very cool style and a great bar to grab a first drink in the evening. The breakfast is also very good as it features high quality products on their buffet in addition to the made to order items which come lovely decorated and are absolutely delicious.

Fantastic staff, especially the restaurant team. I believe her name was Katerina, she looked after us beautifully at dinner time and is clearly a very experienced and valued member of your team 😊 Room was stylish and comfortable too.

Room was rather hot and being able to open a window a little further would have been appreciated, but we're also respectful of safety rules in such properties.

Lift was a bit creaky and reception area a bit limited if waiting or meeting visiting friends

Friendly, helpful front desk staff. Did not use the bar or restaurant facilities nor did I have the breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linen was fresh.

Room had very dark decor (which I understand is typical of the Malmaison vibe) which I didn’t like. Could not find any air con but fortunately I was able to open a window, otherwise the room would have been very claustrophobic.

Location was good Parking 10 minute walk 🚶‍♀️

Overnight stay in the city, room had all facilities you’d want and staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again in future.

Great barman on Friday night

The nearest carpark is a short distance away down a very steep hill. Check in staff never thought to suggest we leave our luggage before they directed us to the carpark. Meant we had to walk back up the hill carrying our luggage. As a result we wouldn’t stay here again

The staff were extremely helpful, we were able to check in early.

The room smelled a little of body odour, it was extremely dark and the windows looked out onto bins on one side and a roof on the other. The bistro was extremely dark at breakfast it would have been nice to have breakfast with the lights on.

Rooms are a little tired. A slight damp smell and shower poor. Bed not as comfortable as their competitors. The bed sheets weren't made up properly. I had to fix the sheets on my arrival. All clean tho.

We loved the bespoke look and feel of the hotel especially the bar area, had to take a photo for friends.

Good location for the city centre,parking 10 minutes away by foot at a discounted rate,lovely breakfast,staff very friendly.

Hotel is very dark inside ,the reception and dining area this is the vibe of the hotel apparently as we asked the person on reception,take a light with you if you need to see the menu this is not good if you are visually impaired. Our room was above the service yard which we found out to our cost was not ideal,being woke up st 5am with the noise of deliveries then soon followed by bin lorrie.We did complain and to be fair we were offered a 50% Discount on our stay.Yes the hotel is in a city centre but guests need to be made aware that possible noise from the service yard could disrupt your stay.

I’m not a fan of dark interior decoration for hotel rooms. Personal preference is light and airy

Great location. Staff were first class. Separate living area. Minibar facilities, although need to make clear that some of the water is complementary.

Lack of natural lighting - internal lights had to be on at all times as you couldn't open up curtains due to being very overlooked by offices across the lane. Overly creaky floorboards - to extent you could even hear people walking around in their own rooms. Water pressure temperamental. Charging points on one side of bedroom not working.

Location was good, near to main areas with the city and building was unique, staff were lovely.

Room was very dark, bathroom was awful, had to turn sideways to get to toilet between wall and sink and then had to be careful not to hit head on towel rail. Could hear a lot of noise from other rooms and the corridor and decor needed a refurb it was tired and scruffy.

Staff were very helpful, couldn't have been better. Breakfast was first class. Facilities in the room were good with a wide range of TV stations available, including Sky Sports.

The room was small and now a bit dated. We stayed at Mal Maison a few years ago, and it was luxurious. Now the room was less so. It didn't feel totally clean as well, including the bed linen. Possibly in need of a refurb.

We upgraded to a suite which gave us an additional room with comfortable settees. Really made a difference to our stay.

Decor. Is dark, which is very nice but it means there are dark areas. We particularly noticed inside the wardrobe could have done with a bit of light inside.

I liked everything only slight complaint was I put my breakfast menu on my door nite before and it wasn’t taken, I should of said at reception but I was in a rush to get to a work course , but minor complaint , apart from that 10/10

The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially on reception.

In places it felt quite dated. The lighting in the restaurant was quite dark; sort of ok at dinner, but awkward at breakfast.
