The name carries a fascinating history. Decades after its construction, descendants of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo arrived in Scotland and settled in the building. They chose the name as a tribute to their heritage and a symbol of resilience, a spirit that continues to define the property today. Many of the original Victorian architectural details, such as intricate cornices and high ceilings, have been meticulously retained, offering an authentic sense of place.
Inside, the guest house balances heritage with modern luxury. Some suites feature indulgent touches like free-standing copper bathtubs and four-poster beds, while the “Alamo Suite” is particularly noted for its unique curved wall design. Amazing stay, can recommend enough.
The whole experience was amazing. From being welcomed by one of the friendliest receptionists we've ever met, we were shown to our room.
The room in itself was spectacular with its freestanding centre piece bath, the ornate furniture and comfortable bed.
A beautifully hand written note (per my specification) had been left in a heart of rose petals to celebrate my girl friend's birthday. The room was amazing and the morning breakfast and checking out experience was friendly and smooth. We will most definitely be back.
Everything was perfect and way above already high expectations.

Classy and friendly
The staff were super accommodating. Willingly helping us in and out with our bags. The breakfast service was slick and yummy. The location is so convenient to Sauchiehall St and the Kelvingrove Museum. When my booked restaurant let me down the reception staff went above and beyond to find me an equally special booking.
I loved my stay so much but I was a little shocked at the price of street parking - £40 is an awful lot per day.

Perfect retreat, close to Universty and many fine restaurants.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choices all made to order.

Fabulous stay in a lovely property
Beautiful property in a great location . The breakfast was made fresh and was delicious. Beds were comfortable and the staff were amazing. They were friendly and went out of their way to help. Annette was so kind and went the extra mile to help us when we had car issues. Would highly recommend.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!
The staff is friendly, Breakfast is delicious, and check-out is easy. I changed to another room on the ground floor after the first day's stay. Surprisingly, there is no such 'bad air' experience like somewhere else. Everything is beyond my expectations!
I totally understand the payment policy(that the total amount needs to be paid when making the booking), as there are limited rooms there. But perhaps the option to pay when it arrives or some other more flexible payment options can be offered in the future? You can charge those who fail to come as part of the policy.

Beautiful place to stay
Lovely spot in Glasgow right next to a park. Very quiet and peaceful but lots of places to eat just down the street. We had issues getting to the hotel with streets closed for a bike race but the staff were extremely helpful in making sure we found a way there. Very supportive. The room was large and very comfortable and breakfast was great too.

A very enjoyable honeymoon experience!
The facilities and staff were amazing. Our room was exceptional and we were treated to a bottle of prosecco as it was our honeymoon!
The location of the hotel was also great.
There isn't much to criticise. However, the parking charges are very steep. £70 to park overnight for two nights is a lot of money, especially considering the amount we paid for the stay at the hotel.

Warm welcome, fantastic room, comfy bed and great breakfast freshly made. Perfect location to armadillo/ OVO just a 10min walk away. Superb selection of restaurants just round the corner to meet everyone’s taste and budget from kebabs to Michelin star

Warm, cosy hotel with lots of character
The shower and bath were excellent, the place had a beautiful aesthetic and was decorated very well, and the staff were very friendly. Most hotels these days are too modern looking and lack character but this guest house is absolutely stunning and I'm happy that it's original elegant appearance was kept intact.
